In an effort to get myself back into writing more, I'm gonna be taking Tidalwave fic requests! If you have a fic idea for Tidalwave send me an ask and within a week I'll try to write somewhere in between 500-1,000 words for it.

I'll choose to write based on what personally sounds fun to me, I mostly go for anything except like heavy gore (I'll like injury them tho but not like that extremely, I'm an angst with a happy ending type girlie). Besides that I'll write anything that sounds interesting to me.

being sick & miserable objectively sucks, but it has become significantly easier to cope with since learning that “sickness behavior” is a well documented part of the body’s immune response

feeling not only physically but also emotionally like fucking garbage is unfortunately an extremely effective way to force your body to prioritize fighting infection & keeping you alive. i don’t have to like it, but knowing why i get weepy & pathetic when sick does help at least a little

I love Carl so much. He wasn't in the book–He's a narrative device so that Grace has a reason to explain his thoughts outloud. He's a stand in. A student for Grace. A person to bounce ideas off of. He's the part of the narration that is filled by the reader in the book. He's us. Carl is there so Grace can take us shopping. So he can show us his theories. So he can work through his hypothesis. Carl is the audience. Carl is you. Carl is me.

To be clear I am not saying Fanon is attempting to elicit sympathy for the colonizer. I mean "Am I supposed to feel sorry for them" in an aghast way because the colonizer, who is suffering, feels he deserves sympathy. You see it again and again, all throughout history, and even now people complain about how traumatized they are from murdering civilians. How even in the end, in their eyes, the true victim is the perpetrator who lives rather than the dead person who is "at peace." As though any number of extenuating personal circumstances is supposed to make your guilt weigh more than the actual harms other people have experienced at your hands. As though people overseas wouldn't also like to go to college, would like to afford a house, would like to escape poverty. It's infuriating!
