Projects:

“The Coal That Burns With Us” — the first book in a duology about a young woman discovering she is the child of God as she tries to take down the black market. It also centers a different woman trying to do good deeds in alternate universes in Hell in order to get to Heaven. Read the full synopsis here. This book is in the beta reading stage.

“I Hear My Own Voice in My Head, But She Sounds Nothing Like Me” — a poetry chapbook about religious trauma in the Catholic Church. This book is in the writing phase (and will be for a while).

“Not Your Dog” — a book set in a world where assisted suicide is legal, about a girl with schizoaffective disorder after her relationship with her girlfriend just ended. Read the full synopsis here. This book is in the writing stage.

“Dog God” — a short story about a famous singer who was caught having an affair on her abusive boyfriend and is slut shamed by the republican news station, her home town, and the narrator’s mother as the narrator and her mother watch her latest music video.

I might take a break from Not Your Dog the book is so depressing and writing it makes me sad 😭 I need to write about something happy but idk what!!! 😬 I will definitely finish writing it, I’m just not sure when.

I have no other ideas for projects after my fantasy book duology is done. I will need to do brainstorming. There will be lesbians though!!

So as many of you know I’m writing a wedding scene for my fantasy book!! On top of there being music, the person getting married does poetry so there’s a poem he wrote for the person he’s getting married to!! “In Sickness and in Health”

Love is the bed we share, her coat on my shoulders in Winter,

my head on hers when things get tough.

Love is our first date, when I knew I wanted to marry her.

Love is her smile lines, even though she says she’s just growing old.

Love is the flowers I bought her that we could never throw away,

so I keep buying her new ones.

Some days love is a microwaveable meal and a movie on a couch we share together.

Some days love is making love in our house, some days love is a conversation.

Sometimes love is an argument. Sometimes love is paying for her coffee,

and knowing what kind she orders. Sometimes love is noticing the gray hairs

she’s embarrassed about. Sometimes love is calling those gray hairs beautiful.

Love is us going together to her mother’s funeral. Some days love is pretty.

Some days it’s too small to see, and you don’t realize you have it

until you see it in the corner of the bedroom you share. And you keep it—

not like a pet or a roommate, no. You keep it like a need. Something

you thirst for. Something you can’t live without. Something you love back.

This poem was inspired by a passage from the Bible. I am an atheist and gay af but I find the Corinthians 13:4-8 really beautiful.

In the story, Blue (also known as Bluma) Beckett is a famous singer who, after cheating on her abusive boyfriend, changing her name, and releasing her new song where she burns down a church in the music video, she gets caught in the flames of a republican, slut shaming, news outlet. As you watch TV with your mom, you are left to decide who wins: God or the celebrity treated like a dog?

I was inspired by Olivia Rodrigo and a little bit Taylor Swift so if either of them are hypothetically reading this (they aren’t) thank you for being such cool singers!! (If you dislike either of those singers or both of them idk what to tell you, you might not like these lyrics.) 😭

Just reread the second book of my wlw fantasy series I’m writing, and I’m so excited to publish it!

I’m so proud of myself for turning the most traumatic period of my life for me into a book series!!

I’m not sure whether I’m going to self publish or traditionally publish, but I promise it will be in all of your hands as soon as possible!

As I write the sequel, I forgot how therapeutic it is to write/read Audrey and Hannah’s story since I relate to Audrey a lot. (Although she does have a pretty different backstory from me! She’s not a self insert!) I love Jean and Loretta, too, but more so for their own character arcs rather than their budding relationship.

Here is a platonic love poem I wrote based on two friendships I have that are very different, and neither of them knows the other but one of them lives very far away from me and the other is planning on moving far away. I wrote this poem about how we will always be together!! “Platonic Love Poem”

I know one day

you won’t be

just a call away,

and we’ll be living

on other sides

of the country.

But we still exist together.

Our friendship was air dry clay.

It didn’t need heat from the oven

or pretentious classes

or instructions to make it perfect.

It didn’t need anything

to become beautiful.

And it was and still is like this:

Breathing in and out. Loving each other

but gently. Not too harshly.

Like the sky after a sunset.

Peaceful as the colors merge into

nightfall, as the red fades.
