is what she’d like to say. but, to spare herself white’s temper, to avoid anymore unnecessary conflict between the two of them — she holds her tongue for once. no doubt a smart move on her part in the end. while blake would otherwise like to believe her, especially now more than ever, there’s still that lingering weight of distrust for some things. certainly not entirely her fault, though! she’s just. always been a cautious person.
that seemed to be a common trait the two of them shared, putting up walls, shutting people out for what they thought was the overall greater good. how foolish the monochromed pair might be in the end, should they choose not to fully reconcile their ways. but for now, it was evident that it’s better to be safe than sorry. and so she can’t bring herself to be all that worried over it, content to just enjoy the moments pause of silence between them. still, despite her wandering thoughts, she can’t help smiling at her next little off-comment, rolling her eyes, giving her a good-natured reprimanding nudge. ‘oh, come on. have a little faith in them.’ she chides. ‘you know they’ve really been trying these past few weeks. you can tell. i know they’ll pass no problem, especially since we’ve been helping them out.’ sure, it was no secret that the shadow had been coaching the blonde with studying, but she was a bit curious to see how the snowflake would react to being called out that she was actually willingly helping someone.
IF she was, anyways. she hadn’t actually seen the two of them off on their own buckled down in the books so…mayhaps she’d call her bluff? though she sincerely hoped not for ruby’s sake, at least.
& the feline is lucky she hadn't let those words slip out. for if she had she'd be facing a wrath none too kind. for such words were hurtful, & even the ' ice queen ' would feel a deep pain from such a statement. especially after her trying. trying to make friends & understand how real people act; she'd never had a friend prior to coming here.
‘ i know they have. i have faith in them... ’
though, the words are unsure.
‘ this is just really important if they make a mistake, or anything, it could cost them the whole test----the whole grade. ’
azure oculi are narrowed ever so slight; the ivory haired was worried they would fail, or get an unsavoury mark. as she could never afford anything of the sort: her father wasn't rather keen on her becoming a huntress anyhow. to receive a sub-par grade was far from what was wanted--or, more accurately, expected.

for someone who was once so worried about her just a mere few weeks ago over the whole white fang - torchwick fiasco, how she couldn’t eat or sleep a wink, weiss didn’t seem too keen on taking care of herself this time around.
black sighed, shaking her head, there was really nothing she could do for it but wait her out, hope she would be comfortable enough to confide in her like they vowed. ‘nice to know you have the time to join us.’ she teased with a light smirk.
'but yes, i'm ready. not too sure about ruby or yang, though. you know how they can get.' she pointed out with a shrug as they made their way to the usual chaos that was the mess hall.
‘ of course. i always find time for friends. ’
albeit spoken in sardonic manner, the aforestated words rang a certain truth. she'd never reveal this, nonetheless. despite her strong feelings, she wouldn't ever risk her oh-so appreciated title of ice queen.
no reasonings of donning facades or anything of the like were far from that. to keep 'real' feelings locked away was something of habit; she'd been wont to living in near-complete isolation. friends were foreign concepts of which--prior to now--had been long since dismissed. though she had begun to warm up to new ideas, and she supposed that included new relationships. howbeit, her pretense was hardly what shrouded her mind before blake interrupted.
‘ unfortunately. they better not fail this, otherwise a bad grade will be the least of their problems. ’

she could see the forced try at a smile, but said nothing of it, only giving a heavy sigh.
'…okay, if you say so.' the cat murmured, could see right through the lie. it made her think good and hard for a moment or two — she's spun her own fair share of tales, lies to avoid addressing any sort of problem that was so clearly there.
this was just one of those things weiss was going to have to work through on her own, apparently. and black had to trust her. ‘do you want to go get some lunch?’
‘ i suppose i can allow time for that. there's an exam coming soon you've been studying, right? ’
the change of subject was relieving; howbeit reminding herself of oncoming tests hadn't proved much of a comfort.
