On Simon, Maddie and Wally
🌸I’ll say this in the nicest way possible cause I love you all and i don’t want a ship war to ruin this silly group of fans🌸
When Maddie fell in love with Wally, Simon was worried AF because she could actually slip away from him after years of being a duo (and possibly die). have you ever lost a friend to a relationship? Do you remember how scary it is to think “they’ll be only with X and we’ll stop talking”
Then he understood that what he has with Maddie has nothing to do with her relationship, and that being jealous would only push her further.
He’s just a golden retriever, fell-first-and-fell-harder boy.
After season 2, he knows Maddie has clear feelings for him, and while he could he never chose to be selfish with their relationship (it’s time to go.
He let her go, time and time again, because deep down he knows she will never belong to him.
And yet he keeps showing up, he tries to save Simon, because he so genuinely cares for her (and also for Simon by the end of season 3). He loves her unconditionally and purely.
In Simon she finds family and identity, he’s like a mirror to her.
in Wally she finds confrontation, attraction, she feels desired, and she wants to build something. They are polar opposites, and that’s why she loves him. She can let go with him. She doesn’t need to plan or control, cause the’ll face anything together.
The finale showed us that she them needs both.
When she was stuck in the mirror, Wally brought her out but she never let go of Simon.
When she crossed her door, she had Simon but she immediately turned around looking for Wally.
My point is : Wally and Simon are not mutually exclusive. they are two sides of Maddie’s heart.
