I love that your blog is how I found out Bonnie Tyler died, because when I wake up and see my notifications, your blog takes priority over the news.
I don’t love that I had to find out Bonnie Tyler died at all . I think she should have lived forever, really.
When I had asked abt spidey merch you own I noticed you had Spider-Man and Philosophy: The Web of Inquiry, I am taking a philosophy course right now and remembered it, is it worth a read??
I think I bought it to be a bit pretentious, if I’m being honest.
I know we're waaayyy past august, but I need to know if you know that Peter Parker shares a birthmonth with Yaoi Day /silly.
Have a good Day/Afternoon/Night!
I… didn’t know there was a Yaoi day. But… of course there is, and of course it’s on Peter Parker’s birthday.
M!A - Wade has to tell the truth for 5 remaining asks.
Adding to the anon saying they miss Wade being a pos. Yes, he is my comfort character. Yes, he is a pos. Both can be true!!
Let Wade, and Peter too, be assholes, as a treat.
NOT as a treat - as a core and fundamental reality of their character that they fight to conquer every day. thats the point!!
One Little Slip by Barenaked Ladies for the Chicken Little soundtrack is spiritually Peter Parker, thoughts on the matter?
I can see you really wanted me to see this one
i don't even need to look up the song because i have the chicken little film irreversibly ingrained in my brain from childhood. and i used to love this song. i used to sing it all the time as a kid.
for those of us fortunate enough to not have seen chicken little and do not have it ingrained in our brains - windows movie maker lyric video below
and needless to say i agree entirely. it's entirely peter parker
I low-key miss when Wade used to be a pos I feel like people woobify him too much. I see people sometimes say "He wouldn't do that!" To something he's done in the comics!!!!!! I'm not saying he can't be better since he's a far cry from he used to be from his first run BUT GOD IS HE STILL NO ANGEL HE CAN STILL A POS TO ME!!! sorry. Had to vent in your inbox 🥹
i agree a lot (and same goes for peter parker) - but it's hard getting away with writing them to be assholes because - well - you'll get the pushback of "nooo... that's my comfort character...."
i think wade specifically has some mind boggling support from fans that will baby him and it's been interesting running the blog and have to shut them down. we don't need to infantilise the grown man who has killed many, many people. a man who has actively abused his closest friends - consistently - in the comics.
when i write him to be callous, or violent, or a jerk because - well, it's part of who he is, and doesn't necessarily just magic away with the power of love - well - "noo... he'd never... he's an angel and would never and has never done anything wrong."
same for peter - i remember so vividly writing this post which - by the way, is nearly word-for-word what peter parker says in the most famous spider-man issue ever - amazing fantasy #15 - and i had comments saying "wow. that's so out of character for peter. he would never be that selfish." and i'm pulling my hair out. he was selfish!! that's like the whole point of his origin story - how - HOW...
getting a similar thing every day when i write it came from outer-space - i think a lot of people think it's very, very callous and out of character that peter is rejecting the symbiote. you know. the symbiote that he famously rejected. in the comics. famously.
long story short - you're not wrong. i think there's a woobification issue in most if not all fandoms though - it's just part of being in a fandom space. but being in the comics space for characters that happen to have movies and lunchboxes and a wide pop-culture reach - means you'll be endlessly frustrated by how many people fundamentally misunderstand the character that you're portraying - because they don't know the source material you're pulling from.
who would your peter and wade root for in F1 (either team or driver)? who would they hate on 😂😂😂
god. of course i can never have an interest without someone making it about wade and peter.
honestly, i don't think they'd watch f1 at all. (too european.) (their attention spans are too short.)
... but hypothetically...
i think peter would empathise deeply with charles. things keep going wrong for him. he does his best, despite it all.
wade would watch for the drama. and maybe for Toto Wolff.
i'm sexually interested in whatever's wrong with you
SCI WERE U ON AN F1 PODCAST WHATTT
um - i did artwork and promotional videos for an official F1 podcast - if that's what you're referring to! it was some of the first work i did with F1
i haven't been on an F1 podcast as in - talking on it - but if you'd like to talk about F1 i'm always game to talk about F1

HAVE THAT CHARACTER GAIN WEIGHT AS A SIGN OF HEALING: NOW
ello what are ur opinions on that scene of black cat proposing to spidey and then literally sidesweeping him like i rotate this moment in my head like a microwave
ah... chip... nobody writes pathetic peter quite like chip zdarsky.
saddest most pathetic peter parker of all time
Am I looking too deeply into Wade if I say I think he's the way he is because of daddy issues? Like I know there's a lot more to it, but there's something about his father being military and beating him and how Wade turned out, also military but also a merc? Something about masculinity. Something about 'there will always be a violent man in your house'. Because yes, his fathers gone, but that violent man is still there.
I know he's a joke character mostly, backgroud not really 100% like Joker, but I recently read cabel and dp, and I can't stop thinking about this?
oh yep, reading cable and deadpool absolutely would put that idea in your head. daddy issues abound. not least of all because of the physical resemblance between nate and wade's dad - they knew what they were doing with that.
nate filling a similar role in wade's life, trying to put him down a path, yadda yadda, wade still being a rebellious kid, yadda yadda, parallels parallels parallels, and you know they did it on purpose. they did it on purpose.
are we going to psychoanalyse wade wilson? i always seem to wind up psychoanalysing wade wilson...
i don't think he's like the joker at all. i don't know why people make that comparison. even the comics make that comparison. wade's just a guy - he makes jokes but he doesn't do things for shiggles - he doesn't do things out of a drive to cause mayhem. he does it for money. he's just like you and me.
i do think there's something to the daddy issues angle - obviously - the comics do too, because they don't leave it alone. and i think there's a running theme with wade that - well, violence is built into him - his something he's predestined for, and he has to fight against his nature. he was built to be a weapon - and everything in his life lead him down that path - and it's whether he chooses to rise above it.
his father is part of that. i don't think wade would have went down the military path if he saw anything else ahead of him - if he had a loving home he wouldn't take the first boat out.
anyway - yeah. daddy issues. but mommy issues too, don't forget. never forget mama wilson.
daddy issues... mommy issues... aaaaall the issues...
