“Absolutely,” he warmly responds, making his way over to the bed. Jack secretly wondered where Cero was. He was surprised the pup hadn’t wandered into the room by now and stolen his spot next to Sally. Normally Cero did not miss a chance to try and steal Sally’s attention, not that Jack fought very hard against him for it; it was actually cute how much Cero loved Sally.
Setting the tray on the bed, Jack decides his friend was probably running around outside or taking his security duty extra seriously tonight and watching the patch. It made him chuckle because the dog liked Oz too, so, really, there wasn’t much protection to the patch anymore. However, Jack had been cooking up another form of protection for his patch, and he was simply waiting for a full moon to let it take full effect. So, for now, that concern was pushed far from his mind.
“I think a movie sounds perfect,” he continues, settling into the spot next to Sally, wrapping an arm around her, gently pulling her closer to him. His free hand reached for the remote, lazily flicking through movie titles on Netflix. Honestly, he didn’t care what was on the television. The guy, admittedly, had zero intentions of fully focusing on it anyway.
“Here we go,” Jack says, pressing play, leaning his cheek to rest on Sally’s head gently. After some time passes, Jack lifts his head a bit, “Sally?” He turns to face her, adoration in his eyes, “forgive me for this interruption, but…” without another word, he closes the small gap in a gentle kiss.
Sally smiles as Jack nestles into the spot beside her. She leans into his embrace and looks up at him, adoringly, for a moment. Jack was so handsome, but more than that he was sweet and kind and generous. He was always thinking of Sally first and she truly appreciated it. She’d spent years silently loving him and though they had been together for a while now sometimes it still seemed so surreal.
Her attention turns to the television though as he picks a movie. She didn’t care what movie it was or if she’d seen it or not before. All that mattered was that she got to be with Jack. Sighing contentedly she kept her gaze on the television, for the most part.
This was perfect, to her. Eating a sweet treat while watching a movie in bed with him was ideal. In fact, Sally couldn’t remember the last time she had felt such bliss. About halfway through the movie though her attention is caught by Jack. Sally looks up at him and smiles and before she knew it she was being kissed.
Her eyes close and her hand goes to rest on his cheek. She, of course, kisses him back. Perhaps a little harder than he had intended to kiss her, but the sentiment was there. Sally gets lost in the kiss for a minute then finally pulls away to take a breath. “I love you,” she whispered, opening her eyes.
