MADISON, LEROY.
❝ oh ! right, ❞ leroy scoffed lightly, resisting the urge to roll his eyes. leroy didn’t see the necessity in changing names. all he had done was change the spelling, as leeroy was now outdated and would stand out ridiculously. however, as a metamorphmagus, things had always been a bit different for him. if he wished to, he could change himself into another form altogether and change his identity at will. he could create a new person or copy another’s appearance, which he had done plenty of times in his time in the ministry and at hogwarts, much to his professors’ dismay. leroy chuckled lightly and gave him a once over, the smile actually fading from his face quick enough. ❝ ye really don’t look well, co–– ian, ❞ he corrected himself. ❝ ye should be in hospital. ❞ if they had been closer, he would have taken out his wand and used a healing spell, but now he hesitated. ❝ cumoan, lemme take ye back to st. mungo’s. i ah’m assumin’ that’s where ye came from? ❞
“ see, i had a feeling you were going to say that. while i appreciate the suggestion, st. mungos is the last place i intend on going. you’ll have to FORGIVE me for being rude. “ costin apologized, suffering through another coughing fit. “ i can’t stand being laid up in bed. at least at home, i can putter away at work -- catching up on paperwork, files, the like. “ he explained. “ at hospital, all you can really do is, well, lay there. “ for most, hospital stays meant visits from friends, family members, and well wishers. for costin, aside from people he worked with, there weren’t many well wishers left. his remaining son stayed away, estranged from his father. though his daughter-in-law wrote letters, no one would be sitting vigil by his bedside. “ i was planning on waiting out the knight bus. “ he admitted. “ i was going to apparate but decided against it. i wouldn’t HATE the company...”
