she knew her first day back would have been a rough one, which is why she took a few extra days away before finally returning to work. the loss of her boss brought an overwhelming slew of emotions from inside of her; and while she had finally subsided these for the most part, it was like a rush came back as soon as she made eye contact with his son.

olivia had heard that his son had taken over his company in the weeks following his death, and she didn't even have to be introduced to know that was who this was. "mr. arlo, hi. my name is olivia, i've worked for the company - well, for your father - for years now." there was an unsaid question that hung on the tip of her tongue, a fear that now the company was in the younger man's hands that her job may not be one needed anymore. instead, she gave him a polite smile and extended her hand, "it's so nice to finally meet you."

"ah," there was a recognition in his expression as he got a face to the name. he had seen her addition on emails and other documents, "right, i forgot you were returning today." with all of the changes happening around him, it was hard to keep track. he took her hand in a gentle handshake. "everyone around here missed you dearly." it seemed this company hinged heavily upon his father and olivia, something zayne wasn't keen on taking up. not with all the unresolved bitterness reserved for his old man.

The vampire swatted her aside like a fly. Like she was nothing. The air was knocked from her lungs as she crashed into the wall and crumpled to the dirty ground. "'m fine." Sila murmured but she wasn't totally sure. Her head was aching and unless Felicity moved at supersonic speed, she lost consciousness for a few moments. "Did you get him?" She was scared to move, truthfully. Spine injuries were serious and the numbness in her extremities was not a good sign. "You see any blood? Those were some nasty nails on him." Sila liked to think that she was prepared for her death which was bound to occur sooner rather than later based on her line of work.

"i think so," felicity sniffled, sparing a glance at the fallen monster for only a split second before all of her attention was on sila again. she lost the ability to speak as she moved bloodied strands of hair from her partner's face. when she was finally able to, her voice came out trembling, "um, yeah..he got you pretty good, sila. i don't know...i don't know what to do." all of their training (what little she'd had) went out the window but she pressed a hand to the place that was bleeding the most. " you're bleeding a lot...did you hit your head too?"

if not for the fact that she's getting major fuck me vibes from her, mia might assume that soren isn't being completely genuine. it's hard to keep from assuming as much, not used to getting attention from people like her. "um...thanks." she mutters, the laughter falling from her surprisingly nervous. "i don't know if i'm the model type, if that's what you mean." she doesn't know the first thing about the event, wary even as she begins to follow soren. she'll probably snatch another wallet, which is really what keeps her going. "you come to things like this a lot?" she asks curiously, wondering if she might run into her again. she hopes not, actually, mainly out of worry of arousing suspicion.

"all the time," soren leads them in and then they are surrounded by people in expensive fabrics and jewelry, the scent of perfumes and colognes a bit overwhelming. it's not hard to navigate around the throng of people, she knows exactly where she wants to take mia. "i'll get you a drink!" the bar is fully stocked for the night and to most everyone here, the night is just getting started. she sees not a single one of her friends but she's not looking that hard when all her attention is on mia. "what'll you have?"
