Exactly. You were so close to catching it and you didn’t.. And again, as captain, you should have been the one to ensure we did bring that determination.

Do you think I care? We still would’ve gotten the credit for winning even if it was just catching the snitch. Sure, it’s better to win with everyone else, but I’d rather win with one person doing all the work than failing. We didn’t fail - you did.

So Quidditch is all about the snitch now? Great, I’ll let everyone know it’s a one player sport. Maybe so, but I can’t encourage something that wasn’t there at all.

You should care, because that’s the problem. Quidditch is a team sport. One person can catch the snitch, doesn’t mean that team is any good. When you start replying on catching the snitch that much, then what’s the point in playing the bloody game? Everyone would rather win, but winning would be a lot more satisfying, and a lot easier if we chose to actually work as a team, rather than individually good players. Sure, I can take the blame, but that doesn’t change the fact that you were part of the losing team, part of a team that managed to get just one quaffle through the hoops. Part of a team that is, apparently, barely even a team. And that needs to change.

Are we allowed to do that? Can we vote off a team captain and vote in a new one because after that last game, I honestly want Malfoy replaced with someone who could do a better job of leading the Slytherin team. I will gladly take over and start leading our team to victories instead of having us go out and make complete fools of ourselves. For the last 2 days all I’ve been hearing about is how badly we were beat and I’m sorry but I really don’t care to be anyone’s laughing stock.

I don’t think that’s likely. By all means, try. But this is the kind of thing that divides the team in the first place. You want a better team? You want to not look like a fool? Then work as a fucking team instead of trying to get the Captain kicked off the team. How are we supposed to win a game if you don’t even bother to trust my judgement? You’re tired of being a laughing stock? Then listen, and work with the team. Right now, I couldn’t care less about whether you think I’m the best person for the position or not, what I care about is whether we’re working as a team -- as one. Which, evidently, isn’t the case. How can it be when everyone seems so eager to stick the blame on one person’s shoulders? Yes, I’m the Captain, but I’m not the team. I’ll take the blame, sure, but what happened out there was something everyone needs to work on. Do you care about winning, or do you care about titles? Because surely helping out or offering solutions is a better way to ensure victory than tearing someone down and fracturing a team even more. You want to win? Then let’s leave hostility towards team members off the pitch for a change then see how we do. Let’s actually listen to one another and work with one another. It’s not that hard a concept, but apparently it’s too hard to put into practice. Grievances have no place in Quidditch, so let’s stop pretending they do.

I was trying to be nice about it but if you wanna be blunt then, yeah. There were a lot of mistakes that you guys need to work out. You have talent but I think your team is a little out of control.

In this case, nice is just lying. Obviously or the result might have been a little different. I wouldn’t say out of control, but definitely missing something but that should and will be fixed.

It’s the only small talk subject that I know and I can continue to talk about without it getting awkward. You could just celebrate it on the 30th and then celebrate Halloween on the 31st. Or celebrate both the whole weekend.

I don’t know about that, it always hits a dead end whenever it’s brought up with me. Both the whole weekend is usually my preference.
