Oh no. Oh no, no, no. They’d seen him with Paddy. How? The thought sent a chill down Scorpius’ side and it took him a few moments to register the rest of the note. The threat. He had to tell someone? This was going to be.. Not fun.

This was a bad idea. There was literally nothing about this idea that could go in his favor. And yet... Scorpius was hovering around the refreshment table and staring holes through the alcohol. Bad idea. Super bad idea. He spun around to walk away, only to bump right into someone. ‘’Oh! Sorry!’’

“This sounds awfully a lot like someone is trying to mess with us,” Albus said with a frown, eyeing the presumed party with distrust, “Really? A party in the forbidden forest?”

Scorpius fidgeted nervously at Albus’ side. ‘’How long do you think we have to stay?’’ he asked in a quiet voice.

“I really shouldn’t be here. If I get caught they’re probably gonna tell me I can’t be a prefect anymore. I mean it’s the forbidden forest … it’s forbidden.” Elliot babbled nervously.

‘‘Wait, they wouldn’t do that to us, would they? Does that mean I could lose Captain too?’‘ he asked with a sudden new urgency.

“Oh yeah, I could definitely go for some food right now. I bet that’s one pro of being a Hufflepuff, being close to the kitchens all the time.” Roxanne said, shooting him a smile, before shoving her things into her bag.

He gave a laugh and a nod, standing to gather up his things as well. ‘’It’s definitely not a bad thing,’’ he grinned. ‘’Except when it makes it way to hard to stay fit for practice.’’

“Oh, I don’t know. You probably sneak off to Hogsmeade or get drunk off of Firewhiskey,” Albus joked, a smirk on his face.

Scorpius gave a snort and a grin, his eyebrows furrowing together in disbelief. ‘’Oh, that’s right, I’ve forgotten to mention the secret bottle under my bed!’’

A small smirk appeared on her face when she obviously surprised him with the question and she quickly wiped it off of her face. She was still a bit worried. The more people who knew, the harder it would be to stay out of Azkaban. It was only supposed to be her and Albus… and Phoenix. She just smiled at him, however, “Is that what he’s been saying? Oh, he’s so silly. We had a little spat, that’s it. Nothing to warrant a break! I haven’t seen him in a while, though. I’m starting to miss him.”

Scorpius picked at his food and bore holes into the plate. He’d lose all his nerve if he had to look at Mallory. His jaw tightened briefly at her nonchalant words and gave a shrug of his shoulders. ‘’I don’t know where he is,’’ he said firmly. Which was true. He could guess. But he didn’t know for sure and he definitely wasn’t about to help her find him.

“You’re the best company a lad could hope for.” Alfie remarks with a charming grin, “You shouldn’t sell yourself short Scorpius.” He lays a hand on his shoulder, squeezing gently, “I’m glad to hear you’re on rounds tomorrow, perhaps I’ll see you, well I sure hope I do anyway.”

Scorpius grinned at the remark and gave a little laugh. ‘’You’re gonna make me blush,’’ he laughed, avoiding looking back over at him because he was pretty sure he would do just that.

He couldn’t help but chuckle into the kiss, the sound bubbling up from his throat without his permission; Scorpius obviously favoured enthusiasm over technique but he wasn’t going to hold it over the other. His hand came up to mirror the position of Scorpius’s, curling gently around the nape of his neck. He tilted his head, adjusting the angle of the kiss so it was less of a frenzied clash of lips and more a slow, soft thing. Before he pulled away, he let his teeth graze over the other boy’s bottom lip, corners of his mouth twitching up into something that wasn’t quite a smile, but wasn’t a smirk, either. It hadn’t been the best kiss he’d ever had, not by a mile, but it hadn’t been a bad one. Paddy ran a thumb over Scorpius’s cheek, bumping their noses together in an uncharacteristically tender gesture. “Glad you finally caught on, mate,” he murmured, “Thought I was gonna have to shout it from the Astronomy Tower for you to get the bloody message.” 

It wasn’t exactly like Scorpius had a lot to fall back on here. His head was still blown over the fact it was even happening, not to even mention how good he was. Or, you know.. Not good. He thought he should maybe think Paddy’s chuckle was to mock him and maybe in any other situation he would, but all too soon he was being swept up in the subtle changes that was way better than what he’d been attempting. Yeah, he could see the allure to this kissing thing. His breath hitched sharply in his throat and he made a soft little noise in response to the teeth. Merlin, the older boy was trying to kill him. There was another choked embarrassing noise when he finally did pull away and he instinctively tried chasing after him, but caught himself nearly right away and his cheeks went hot. He bit his bottom lip around an almost shy smile and butt his nose back against his. The smile grew into an almost giddy grin and his hands slid down to curl against Paddy’s sides. ‘’I dunno if you’ve been able to tell,’’ he mumbled, his forehead coming forward to rest against Paddy’s, ‘’But I’ve never exactly done any of this before.’’ He hesitated. ‘’That’s, ah.. That’s okay, right?’’

“I know you weren’t but the librarian has super human senses and makes a fuss all the time.” he said before rolling his eyes a little, though he was mostly amused, not exasperated with the boy. “I did not.” he insisted with a smirk on his lips. 

Scorpius gave a huff and slumped forward against the table with an exaggerated pout. ‘’You did, too,’’ he grumbled. ‘’I’m a Prefect, too, y’know.’’

“Because, we are in the library. And the librarian literally just told me to deduct points from Hufflepuff if you start to be loud again.”

‘‘I wasn’t being loud!’‘ he said, loudly. His face heated up and he immediately lowered his voice into a grumble. ‘‘You started it.’‘

“If you ask me,” Roxanne said, running a hand through her hair, “we’d done enough hours ago. I’m pretty sure I can taste words, and I’m definitely sure the library was much fuller when we got here.” She looked around the room. There were occupied tables, but nothing compared to the usual after-class fullness. “So, what’s the plan for some de-stressing?”

Scorpius gave a snort and reached up to fun fingers through his hair tiredly. ‘’At the very least,’’ he agreed with a shake of his head before glancing thoughtfully around at the question. ‘’Are you feeling a bit peckish, yet? We could get some food from the kitchens.’’

Roxy grinned, stretching as she reclined in her chair. "Alright, when the stuffy library atmosphere starts getting to you, it’s a sure sign to take a break.” She said in a regular voice. She rolled her neck, which was stiff from being hunched over the table, and closed the books in front of her with a satisfying thud.

Scorpius gave a laugh and shut his own books before reclining back in his own chair with a satisfied sigh. ‘’I’m pretty sure if I try cramming another charm in my head tonight, it’ll come out my ears,’’ he joked, reaching up to rub at the tense muscle in his shoulder. ‘’We’ve had to of done enough by now, right?’’

Roxanne raised an eyebrow.  “You started it. Why are you whispering?” Even though she didn’t know why, she still whispered back, lips quirking in a smile.

Scorpius gave an embarrassed little laugh and shook his head. ‘’Sorry. I, uh.. Guess I got caught up in the library atmosphere.’’

“Ah, very nice.” Alfie says with an approving nod of his head, turning back to his own dinner. He glances back at Scorpius however, when he answers his question about rounds, “Aw that’s too bad.” He says, grin slowly working it’s way onto his lips, “I was hoping we’d pass each other in the halls, it’s so difficult to find good company in prefects today.” He bumps the other with his shoulder and winks, a friendly gesture under normal circumstances, but no circumstances with Alfie are ever really normal.

The words were innocent enough, but coming from the older boy combined with the innocuous touch and wink, they made Scorpius’ cheeks feel hot. ‘’Ah- I’m on rounds tomorrow night?’’ he offered with an almost shy, little smile and a reach up to rub the back of his neck in a nervous tic. ‘’I’m sure you can find better company.’’
