Kenny Chesney - The Big Revival

It's been awhile since I felt the need to take a full listen to a Kenny Chesney album but with The Big Revival I am pleasantly surprised to see that Chesney can still produce a very good 40 minutes of music. The album produces a nice mix between his signature "chill" songs, some more arena rocking songs and ballads. The album kicks off with the title track which feels different from the normal Chesney fair and is a breath of fresh air. Drink it Up and Til It's Gone are solid fun songs that carry into my two favorite songs of the album. Beer Can Chicken is another fun song that is going straight into the summer country music playlist. Rock Bottom and Don't It are the low point for me but they aren't songs that I would automatically skip when they come on. Arsenal's Goal Keeper Controversy

Arsenal have a full blown goal keeper controversy on their hands.

The incumbent Wojciech Szczesny was dropped after a shockingly bad game against Southampton that also saw him break team rules regarding smoking. 

David Ospina has come in and taken his chance and produced four consecutive clean sheets against Villa, City, Stoke and Hull.

Part of this might be that this has coincided with Laurent Koscielny coming back into the side and settling things down a bit. The awarding of credit for defense is difficult to pin down and I don't claim to be deep enough into Soccer analytics to make any definitive claims.

What I did want to do was take the xGoals that are published by Michael Caley (@MC_of_A) to check how each was doing compared to the shots that they had faced.

Here is how things turned out (Premier League only):

Szczesny: 

xG per game: 1.1

Goals per game: 1.3

Ospina: 

xG per game: 0.7

Goals per game: 0

Martinez:

xG per game: 1.1

Goals per game: 1

Ospina's best game in terms of xG performance was against Manchester City where they registered a 0.9 expected goals but Arsenal kept their clean sheet. Szczesny's best game was against Burnley where again they registered a a 0.9 expected goals but Arsenal kept their clean sheet. I have not had a chance to go back and rewatch either to see if there were any noteworthy saves. 

On the other end, Szczesny has had some real stinkers. His performances against Everton, Swansea and Hull all came in below 1 xG per game but the Arsenal defense let in 2 during each. The Everton one might deserve an asterisk with one of the goals allowed even though Naismith was offside. 

All totaled, these games equaled dropped points and have seriously hurt the teams position on the table.

Given his current form and international pedigree it is hard to argue that Ospina should be removed from goal. Hopefully he can carry on his clean sheet streak into the weekend and get a win at White Heart Lane.

Ready for Love or Time to Klay?

The Warriors are built to win now and have a decision to make regarding just how they are going to do it.

Klay Thompson is fun to watch and a good player, but I just don't see the Warriors ceiling being at Championship level with him on the team. Kevin Love is a legit top 10 player that would pair excellently with Curry, if that deal is there I feel like the Warriors need to pull the trigger.

Memorize this: How stage actors learn all their lines

How good is your memory? Is it shot, like mine? Do you know all your passwords? Can you remember what you did last Tuesday? Now consider the brain power involved in memorizing an entire script for a play and retaining it for months, if not longer.

Very interesting, not something that you think too much about. I have a horribly memory as it is, to then add trying to remember all these lines on top of it would be too much.
