jude smiled softly, thanking the other as he moved to grab the glass. “yeah, i just–” his sentence halted as the tips of his fingers grazed the other’s hand, his skin once again heating up. he blinked for a moment, his eyebrows furrowed, before slowly trailing his fingertips against seth’s skin again. it was only then he realised that it wasn’t his body overheating, it was just one very precise spot in particular. he was speechless, placing the glass on the table with a shaky hand. maybe he was just imaging things; overreacting. “i.. do you..” this time when he reached out it was with intent – he touched seth again, his fingers clasping the man’s arm now. as he did it was as if his mark caught flame, the burning sensation impossible to ignore. he instantly felt himself drain of color.
it happened again. that damn low burn on the side of his shoulder where the mark made itself prominent, one that made seth felt his heart come to a halt once again. within seconds it was clear that jude had felt it too, or at least feeling something from their touch, and the hairs on the back of his neck stood up as he touched him again, the mark glowing with intensity. “I’m guessing you feel it too, then?” seth said slowly, careful eyes peering into jude’s as he approached him with uncertainty. his eyebrows furrowed as he came to notice how sickly the guy suddenly looked. “you don’t look so good..”
jacksonlittle :
with a furrowed brow, jackson mocked anger as seth played his own joke back to him. this routine between them was a little old now but it still caused him to crack a smile as he reached out a hand to properly greet the man. “ very well, i’m look for where to take it next actually, if only there was a nee for a second club in the area. what about you? ”
the blonde smirked as he extended his own hand, a greeting that was full of vague familiarity and formality that very well encapsulated their conversation. “you could always try miami- that place can never have enough clubs. though, I guess I’m biased for suggesting it.” he shrugged as he took another swig, putting the empty glass to the side to be taken away. “i’ve been good. same old, same old. I just bought a boat, so there’s that, I guess.”

“am i that dazzling?” jude smirked playfully. it was then he began to notice the slight tingling sensation; was it just the drink or was something wrong. he frowned, his emotions always blatantly obvious when he was drunk. he lifted a hand to absent-mindedly rub his shoulder, the sensation was coming from his soulmate mark but his drunken mind wasn’t putting the two together. he could feel a sense of unease in the pity of his stomach, “i feel kinda weird suddenly. maybe i need some water?”
he lifted his hand to his head once again as he chuckled weakly, not knowing where to place his suddenly very conscious hands as he searched for an answer. the whole soulmate possibility had definitely thrown the guy off, and all seth could think about was whether jude had felt it too. the blonde lifted an eyebrow once he realized the other wasn’t feeling well, to which he swiftly turned to the side to pour him a glass of water. he turned back to jude with the full glass, holding it out in front of him and making sure to linger a bit until his skin touched his again. to make sure what he had felt wasn’t a fluke. “are you okay?” he asked, genuinely concerned.
newbcginnings :
“ah, it was only phase. kids are kids.” he dismissed, rolling his eyes. “okay, so coconut falls on your head and you die… not that bad, kind of funny. i rather die from that than gunshot to the head or mobster cutting me into little pieces. which didn’t happen, but it almost did. if that can happen in captiva, then…” aleks drifted off, not really knowing how he’d complete that sentence; thinking things through isn’t much of the boy’s strong suit. he signaled to the bartender for another of the same drink. “you must make so much money with a regular like me.” he shook his head playfully, smirk plastered on his face before he gasped slightly with eyebrows raised, almost like an idea popped into his head. “i should open my own bar.” he spoke in a challenging, teasing manner.
the blonde couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow and avert his eyes to his drink for a bit as the other went in depth of the previous shit he had been involved in, not really knowing what to say other than muttering a simple “jesus,” before taking a swig from his glass. he had never been one to get himself in too deep of a trouble, so hearing the guy’s stories of his dangerous exploits were unexpected, especially considering how young he was. seth raised an eyebrow at the mention of aleks opening up his own bar, to which he couldn’t help but laugh as he shook his head at the kid. “how about we wait until you’re old enough, and then we can talk.” he smirked, moving the empty glasses to one side to make room for the fresh ones that were brought. “so kid, what’s been going on lately? find a job yet?” he teased, knowing well that the other wasn’t in school at the moment.
anessence :
eric needed a drink, it was as simple as that and whilst he could easily pop off to the corner store, he wanted something alcoholic and he didn’t want to have to drink it alone. whilst the bar was hardly his usual scene, he wasn’t against making it so. sometimes he forgot how genuinely young he was, already living an old man lifestyle, going by old man habits. he didn’t want to miss out on the splendour that was meeting people at bars, even if thus far he had been sitting on the stool drinking alone, so very lame of him. he’s startled by the other male’s presence, but he hardly avoids it, he welcomes it with a smile and he snorts at the other’s words. “dude, if this place is lame, i’m the lamest man in all of the world. i think it’s cool. wow, s’that lame?” he cringes a little outwardly, taking another sip of his beer.
“i was hoping it wasn’t,” he said with a laugh, turning to the guy with drink in hand. “I just like to keep tabs on the bar, y’know? like any good owner would.” seth did try his best as he had invested almost all of his money into the place, and though he was never one to boast about his accomplishments, he couldn’t help the pride he felt when his musings had been filled by the other. it was his way of fun and making sure the customers were happy, and so far, the results had been nothing but great. “i’m seth.” he extended a hand, giving the other a quick scan before offering a smile.

puff, puff. winston took two puffs from his newly-lit cigar before answering the question, if he liked miami or captiva more - as he mentioned how he lived in miami prior to this. “captiva. the beauty of miami without the noise.” he spoke decisively, ashing the cigar. he leaned further back into the metal chair, eyeing the view of the shore. winston brought the other here, to the part of the beach his luxury resort offered. the two sat at a table on the deck, umbrella keeping them cool from the warm florida temperatures. curious to know about the locals who’ve been living in captiva, he sat up slightly straighter. “now. you. what’s there to know?” he smirked slightly, if only out of curiousity.
"damn. that’s.. spot on.” he said with a lift of his eyebrows, clearly never having thought of the two in relation before. seth was constantly moving around from venture to venture that he had never quite taken the time to fully appreciate and compare the two, though the other had shed light on the two perfectly. “well for starters, I’m actually from miami. born and raised.” he started, taking a long sip of his drink before setting it down on the cool metal table and turning to the man. “did college, dropped out, traveled for a while, and now I’m here. I’ve been running the bar chaos for about a year now, and it’s been doing pretty well which I guess you could say I’m proud of.” he said with a casual nonchalance, running his fingers through his hair as he peered out into the ocean. “you should come by sometime, it can get pretty wild in there.”

✴︎ — “ Yes, really, I was on the verge of just going home, which wouldn’t necessarily be the worst, since apparently Kili decided sleep’s not so important, but I do need a night out. So I’m glad you showed up. Don’t tell her but you’re better company, ” she grinned. She took the glass, taking a sip as she listened to Seth speak, “ Pfft, depends on what your idea of stories is. Kili’s decided he’s going to be Thorin Oakenshield when he grows up, and that I’m going to be Smaug, because I’m too tall to be a dwarf, which, I totally am short enough. I’d just be a really tall dwarf. ”
“you say that as if it’s a secret or something.” he said with a sly wink, chuckling into his drink before finishing it off. the blonde smiled at the mention of her son, who he had quite a fondness for after only having met him a few times. “well it looks like he’s turning out to be a smart little guy. I hope he still remembers me, it really has been a while since I’ve seen the two of you.. and no, you could definitely pass for a dwarf. you’re like what, 4′9?” seth said jokingly, nudging her gently on the arm with a huge grin on his face.

his words caused a chuckle to leave her lips and she shrugged in response, though her words weren’t meant to be rude but merely curious. it was hard for jemma to keep her thoughts at bay her no nonsense personality had her mouth run faster than most people. either some people were put off or it amused them like it seemed to be for this blonde male, which she was glad for since he seemed like good company. “well, if you’d like to call it that, i’d say it’s more like my tendency to blurt out my thoughts.” learning that he was the boss caused both of her brows to rise before a smile made its way onto her own lips. “ah, then you must be one of those owners who appear once in a blue moon huh? odd thing for you to say about your bar unless you were hoping for a compliment?” jemma quipped mockingly, pinning her gaze onto him, though it was obvious her eyes were alight with amusement as he turned his attention her fully. “i’m flattered you think so, i’m told i’m a delight but i suppose you’ll find out soon enough. i have to ask what do you find ‘fun’?”
“well either way, I like the honesty. we need more of that around here, don’t you think?” he said with a chuckle before finishing off his drink, turning to rest his elbows against the bar table as he glanced out into the crowd. “am I that easy to figure out? but I mean yeah, I can’t be in my own bar every night, I’d just end up hating it after a while. hence why I hop around other places and only come here a few times just to check up on it. genius idea, really.” the blonde shrugged nonchalantly, scanning the room once again in an attempt to both find something amusing and see how the environment had deemed itself to be so far. things were doing far greater than expected in the bar, which he felt a small sense of pride for before snapping back into the conversation. “not much, really. just drink, party, do random shit like rent a boat for three months knowing damn well I can’t go anywhere anyway.” he said, turning to the girl again in laughter. “how about you, I’m sure your life is far more interesting than mine.”
alectoakenson :
✴︎ — Alecto smiled, looking over at Seth, “ I’ve been encouraged to go out more by just about everyone, and I was here with one of Kili’s friend’s mom… but she’s disappeared off with some guy she met, ” she glanced around to see if she could spot her. “ But I haven’t seen you in a while, how’re things goin’ ? ”
“well good thing I showed up then, huh?” he smiled at her, passing her the second glass of wine he ordered before taking a sip of his own fresh glass of rum. “pretty good, though there’s not enough in my life for things to be.. going. how about you though, I’m sure you’ve got some stories to tell?”
newbcginnings :
“listen, listen.” aleks spoke with an open hand, elbow on the bar table, pointing in who knows who’s direction. “i’m telling you. i wasn’t scared of death when i was fifteen taking speed or when i had heroin in a needle, arm strapped, ready to go — i didn’t do it, though, don’t worry — but i almost die twice in the past two months and now i’m petrified, seth.” he admitted, thick russian accent fully pronounced as he took the last swig of his second drink, something he’s not meant to have but has come as a nice benefit to the two’s friendship. “now let me tell you: that’s why i like captiva. you can’t die here.” he said matter-of-factly, raising his empty glass in the air.
“you better not even touch that shit again, I swear. I’m not trying to bail you out of jail or.. you know, worse.” he said with a shake of his head, laughter escaping his lips at the last second at just how crazy yet amusing everything that came out of aleks’ mouth was, though definitely concerning at times. the guy was always fun to be around as he always filled seth’s amusement with his crazy stories that he wasn’t quite sure what to make of but laugh nevertheless. “hey, ease up on the drinks, kid. still gotta pay for those, you know.” he said with a smirk, taking a sip of his own. “and you can very much die in captiva. what makes you think you can’t?”

scths:
“oh, you have no idea.” he grinned, confidence oozing from his words. as the man introduced himself, he offered out a hand, “well, it’s nice to meet you, seth.” he scanned the man over again, the distraction leaving his hand lingering over seth’s for a little longer than necessary, “i’m jude.” he relaxed back, pushing his hair back from his face, “so– i can’t say i’ve seen you around before, i’m sure i’d remember.”
“it’s nice to meet you, jude-” he began as he took the other’s hand, feeling a slight burning sensation on his shoulder where his mark was as soon as their skin touched. confused, his eyes searched frantically in the other’s deep orbs of umber as he held his gaze, glad that jude had held on for the few extra seconds that seth relished in as he tried to figure out who exactly this person was. was this his.. soulmate? he never really knew how to quite feel about the whole concept, as it both terrified and fascinated him and had absolutely no idea what to do with it. though, seth couldn’t help the aura of enigma that encapsulated both jude and the feeling that he wanted to delve into more. “likewise.” seth trailed off, silently wondering if the other had felt the same he had. he stared in an almost hypnotized trance before shaking himself out of it. “sorry, I don’t mean to stare.” he said with a low laughter as he scratched his head sheepishly, trying to play it off.
pvckiish :
“Did you know it takes from 50-100 cups of coffee to make the caffeine a lethal dose?” Lukas spoke aloud, quite suddenly, as if snapping from his reverie. Sure enough the culprit cup of iced coffee was sitting in his hands, more than half way done, and the bags beneath his eyes testified to how tired he looked. Or how much he needed it. After a long moment the signature grin appeared on his face, he turned to his company, “I think I’m on cup 49.”
“better not make it fifty then, you don’t want to get yourself in trouble.” seth said to the other with a grin, taking a sip from his own cup as he had overheard the other. he quickly scanned the other’s face, taking note of the shadows under his eyes and the man’s uniform before glancing down at the cup of coffee in front of him. “I’d ask why you’d need so much caffeine in you, but judging by your uniform and whatnot it seems like you’re used to it. though, I hope you haven’t made it over cup fifty. don’t tell me you have.” he paused jokingly before laughing and breaking the few seconds of silence.
alectoakenson :
✴︎ — Alecto had gotten a sitter and was out for drinks with a friend — although that friend seemed to have disappeared off with the girl she’d met, leaving Alecto alone at the bar, unineterested in the scene after spending so long away from it. She did find that this particular bar, which she hadn’t stepped foot in since it had opened, she preferred to the last she’d been dragged to. She looked up from her phone when someone sat beside her, “ oh, yes, absolutely. The lamest, ” her lips quirked into a smile as she laughed and exited out of the messages with the babysitter and took a sip from her drink.
seth almost didn’t recognize that it was alecto he was talking to, as she had never quite made an appearance in his bar yet. a smile lit up on his face as he turned to her, clearly excited to see her out and about. “well fancy seeing you here.” he said, ordering up another round for both of them in celebration of her first night in chaos. “finally got away from the kid tonight? or did you come by because you just really missed me?”
ofjemmcs :
after living in california for most of her life and hitting all kinds of bars, it had taken jemma a bit to get used to small town bars. though there were a few fancy looking ones, if she were being honest she was still on the fence about how she felt about them. though she figured at one point she would get used to them, it was just a matter of when. but that didn’t stop her from curiously exploring anyone that she came across. this particular establishment seemed busy enough, which she usually took as a good sign. she was in the midst of checking her messages on her phone when she heard a voice beside her. jemma turned to see a blonde male help himself to the seat next to her, but figuring she could humor him or vice versa, she put her phone away and gave him her attention. “we’ll i’ve seen worse, it’s not so bad. it’s busy enough and everyone seems to be having a blast. so, then, what is it that you’re looking for?” the brunette raised a brow at him, curiosity shown in her brown orbs.
clearly a bit taken aback, seth looked at the girl in astonishment, the corners of his lips curling up to form a smile as he found her candor refreshing. “I take it you like to call people out on their bullshit, huh?” he said with a laugh before turning to face her fully. “I own the bar and just wanted to start up a little fun, if that’s even the right word for it. for myself, of course.” he added in emphasis as the girl’s fiesty spirit was not one he wanted to accidentally rub the wrong way. he had dealt with one too many in clubs and was not about to start a scene of his own, especially in his own bar. seth finished off the rum in his drink before waving over another, looking at the stranger with curiosity in his eyes. “are you always this much fun to be around?” seth asked with a grin, awaiting her response.
jacksonlittle :
considering he had whole storage rooms filled with alcohol, it may confuse some people that jackson still went to bars and clubs other than his own but he needed the variety sometimes, and a place to drink where he wasn’t the boss, at least not officially. “ have i not been telling you that, i only come here to feel better about club adonis, ” he replied to seth with a grin, taking another sip of rum.
“god, really? even I wouldn’t be caught dead in club adonis, that place is the worst.” he countered, laughing at his own joke before clapping the other in the back. seth recognized jackson as he frequented himself at the other bar, for partly the same reason as the man had come to chaos for, to get away and relish in something that wasn’t his own. “good to see you, man. how’s the place been doing though- well, I hope?”
pvrecfheart :
a quiet laugh left her lips as her shoulders shrugged slightly. granted, it was a bit of a strange place to try and advertise an open day for a dance studio. ren herself wasn’t entirely sure why she was attempting it but the more exposure it got the bigger chance of a good turn out, right? “call me desperate for the exposure. but hey, you never know who may come across it. maybe someone comes in here that’s always wanted to learn how to dance and never gotten the courage to do, and this was their last sign to finally give it a go. it’s never to late after all.” she wasn’t exactly holding her breath though. her fingers hesitated on the corners of the stack as she let a smile tug at the corner of her lips. “as much as i say i’m desperate for the exposure—you really don’t have to go to all that trouble. the posters up on the wall is plenty. but the offer is much appreciated, truly.”
“you’re right.” he said as he nodded, clearly impressed by her diligence. it was rare to come across someone like her as most people relied on shortcuts and would most likely not have gone the further mile as she had so clearly done. “nah, it’ll be fun. that way I get to see the look on their drunk asses trying to read what’s on the flyer.” he joked, a small laugh escaping his lips. though he had never attempted to hand out anything other than more drinks to people in the bar, seth had a feeling that with these papers, he’d get a hell of a funny reaction out of the customers which would be amusing for him and beneficial to the cause. “but no, really, I don’t mind. after all, it is for the kids.”
