did you know that jaws (1975) was filmed on location in martha’s vineyard in 1974? I'm thinking about how mulder would have been too devastated by his sister’s abduction the year prior to be excited about it. all he would have been thinking about is how much sam would have loved riding her bike down to see the film sets 😞

I believe that what unites Scully and Mulder above all else is their absolute integrity as people. Their moral incorruptibility – the fact that they’ll stand up for what they believe in, no matter what, no matter the personal costs. Their loyalty to the truth they believe in. The stubborness in never giving that up.

I believe that’s what they recognise in each other straight away. And it’s the first thing they love about each other. What makes them trust each other. That’s their common ground. The differences between them teach them how they will complement each other. That they can do so because that deep respect for one another is there right from the start: we’re the same; we take our moral obligation to ourselves seriously. We don’t betray what we believe in.

to clarify (no one asked) when Mulder doms it’s because Scully more or less asks him to and he’s like ‘yes ma’am — i mean slut — i mean… get on your knees?’ and when Scully doms it’s because Mulder is like five minutes away from chewing off his own leg unless she pats him on the head and tells him he’s a good boy

also i REFUSE to believe mulders never remembered scullys birthday hes so obsessed with her & facts BUT i think he has never brought it up before despite knowing her birthday because he simply doesnt know how to bring it up i dont think that man has celebrated a birthday since samantha went missing and has no clue where to even start (let alone with Scully - his best friend, the love of his life, his cornerstone, thw person who makes him human)

there are those moments in the x files when Mulder will say something sooo crazy that Scully just gets a thousand yard stare and takes a moment to look into the middle distance and generally appears to be questioning all of her life choices but actually the real kicker is that acting Exasperated and Appalled while still actively enabling him is one of her favorite things to do. she’s having a blast, this is what having a blast looks like for her

my ice-cold take is that Scully obviously gets more jealous than Mulder but he was jealous of both Queequeg and God which is kind of a crazy combination
