The 4th of July. Independence Day. Of all our long-weekend federally-sponsored holidays, the first week of July holds the most important one of all. Celebrating our Independence as a new county, the signing of our Declaration of Independence and the inauguration of the Bill of Rights, the 4th of July represents all the things we are as a county. Independent, free and pursing happiness with our friends, family and community. This year the holiday falls on a Wednesday, which, depending on your perspective, may or may not be a good thing. Some folks would prefer the long weekend, some enjoy the mid-week break from regular life. Whichever side of that debate you fall on, one thing we all have in common is that we will be spending that time with our loved ones, usually outside, often at a BBQ in the park, a beach day or backyard gathering.
