A group verse in which we shall take the setting of Super Dangan Ronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, and make our own story for it! Our own killers, our own executions, our own relationships!
“Instead of this just being a ‘friendship field trip’, we’re making it a ‘mutual killing field trip’! So, if you guys really really want to leave this island so badly, then all ya gotta do is kill each other!“
SDR2 Roleplay Group, dedicated to making our own story for the game.

Good morning, everyone. I am here to clean the blog up a bit once again. I will be deleting and editing several posts, including the post regarding TRIALS and updating several pages.
I’d also like to remind everyone that we are still in search of a Gundam and a Sonia.
Whatever planning we had to do is now finished, so we will start the Games once those positions are filled.
Well, are they open to each other? Not everything needs to be dealt with by mods. So many problems can be talked about between members if they just opened up to each other. Otherwise, you'll never keep a group together effectively.
We are not babysitting the members.
If they so choose to, any member is welcome to communicate with any other member as much as they want to. If they are coming to us it’s been assumed that they have either already tried, have no means with which to speak to that person or are having problems dealing with them.
Many members have personally stated to everyone that anyone is welcome to speak to them outside the group chat about whatever problems they have. So in whatever likeliness, it is not only the mods that are being spoken with about problems when they happen.
I do not mean to sound rude, but it is not our job to tell the group to talk about their feelings. If they want to talk about them, they are welcome to do so with whoever they so choose. We have never discouraged people from talking about their problems and many of the members have actually encouraged the others to do so.
I would like to also remind that this is a roleplaying group. Though we do enjoy each others company and we do have a lot of fun talking ooc, most of us are here to roleplay. As a fact, several people have stated that they do not want drama in the group chat and people do leave the chat or disable it when drama does happen.
I will state again that if trouble does happen we would prefer it be solved outside the group chat where it will cause trouble to as few people as possible. If it so happens that others need to be involved, then we will do so.
Honestly though, in a group so large, how is communication working? Are people being OPEN and CLEAR about how they are feeling towards other people? Are issues being worked out between members privately, or is everyone bottling them up? Oh, and the capitalizing is only because I can't italicize on asks.
Hello friend. Mod Monokuma/Saionji here to take over for Mod Peko.
Issues are handled mostly on a one-on-one basis. People come to one of the mods talking about an issue they have with a member of the group, and then the mods discuss it together. Sometimes not all of the mods are there to discuss a certain matter, but in that case 2 of the 3 mods will discuss it on their own.
Issues are not usually discussed in the group chat as a whole, but that’s only to prevent drama from occurring. Of course, a bit of drama is usually unavoidable, but we try our best to keep it all to a minimum. If an issue is really, REALLY big, we’ll bring it up to the whole chat, but we usually like to keep it on a private basis (discuss it with the one having the problem, discuss it with the mods, discuss it with the one causing the problem. That’s how we handle it.)
So to answer your question on the most basic level: Yes, people are very open about problems they have with other members, and issues are worked out privately instead of bringing them up with the group as a whole, unless the issue is too big to be discussed privately.
What makes a Gundam Tanaka roleplayer acceptable ??
I would like to state first and foremost that we are not here to particularly judge anyone’s specific portrayal of any character. We are not going to tell anyone how to or how not to portray their character. You are free to portray them as you wish.
What we are trying to create is a group, so we will decide whether a person is fit for this group based on the following things:
How seriously they are taking the group: Anyone that applies to the group is expected to be giving it their full and all in participating in group activities. If we are hoping at all to be a well-running group, we must all be taking any and all events seriously. If someone doesn’t appear to be taking the group seriously, they will be talked to.
How well they know the character: Though we are not expecting anyone to be perfect, we would prefer that the character at least not stray from whatever is canon in the game.
How confident they are in their portrayal: As I said, we are not judging your specific portrayal. But as we’ve come to realize, trials in particular are extremely fast-paced when done in real time. If you are not confident in your character portrayal it may make it difficult to keep up or participate in these types of events.
How they mingle with the rest of the group: As we know, a group is made of many people. If we want a group that runs smoothly, it is important that everyone in the group be able to get along well. If someone is clashing with a majority of the group or is making people feel uncomfortable, they will be spoken to or asked to leave.
Again, we are not picking people solely on their portrayal. Unfortunately, with a group such as this, there are some things (such as group dynamics) that can only be judged once the person has joined. It will happen that some people who join will not get along with the group even though their portrayal is very good, but in these cases, the group dynamic comes first before roleplaying.
Thank you and I apologize as this may not have been what you were expecting as an answer.
Due to unforeseen circumstances and differences in opinion, our Mahiru Koizumi has been removed from the group. We are sad to see her go, but it’s just the way things have to be sometimes. We are now looking for someone to fill Mahiru’s role.
To put it bluntly, Mahiru Koizumi has been reopened for applications.
Do you ever think about your favorite characters dying?!!
Now you can be even more responsible for their deaths!!
The sdr2games mods have been coming up with executions, but decided it would be a lot of fun to let you guys decide on some too!! If you’ve got an idea for an execution, submit us a description of the execution including the character, title and a description of the death and we’ll take it into consideration!!
If your execution is chosen, you’ll get to see your execution drawn up and in color once the character dies and we’ll give you credit for it once its up!! Even if that character doesn’t die, we’ll give a show of the unused chosen executions once the games are done!!
That’s all for now, folks so get your imaginations running!! Have a happy murder everyone!!
The Roster and Masterlist have been updated. There are a few students who still need to complete their blogs and a couple that need to tell a Mod what URL they’ll be using for the game. At the rate organisation is going we should be able to start by the end of the week or next week. There has been a lot of behind the scenes stuff in order to make this work well and look good.
Thank you everyone for your patience.
For those interested, there will be a trial of the trial system we’re thinking of using for the games. It would be greatly appreciated if volunteers leave their availability details with Mod Monokuma, Mod Peko or myself in order to participate and work out when to do it.
Sorry for all the huge walls of text! But you know how it is, gotta make sure everyone is informed! Last time around, the games were very vague (i blame 14-year-old me) and it wasn’t a fun time. So this time around, we’re gonna make sure we got all the details worked out!
We’ve still got a few things to inform you guys about, so I hope you’re willing read a bit more! Thank you for being so patient and understanding~ I promise, we’re putting a whole bunch of work into this to make it the best it can possibly be!
This is another GAMEPLAY post; unfortunately on MOTIVES for murder and the different kinds that can be chosen. Once again, please read below if you are a participant in the GAMES.
There will be three kinds of MOTIVES for the killer/killed to choose from. A PERSONAL motive, a GROUP motive, or DESPAIR FEVER. I will now go over the general method in which to apply these motives to the game.
PERSONAL
Personal motives do not require any interference from mods or anyone else. Personal motives would be used if the two characters already have reason to kill each other without any external interference.
Examples of this would be Sakura Oogami’s death (suicide to reconcile for her betrayal, no motive was used by monobear) or Nagito Komaeda’s death (assisted suicide to bring out the traitor, no motive used by monobear)
Island life will simply go on as usual until someone dies.
GROUP
Group motives are ones that will require mod assistance. If the killer/killed chosen would not act without external interference a group motive will be used. The killer must come up with something that would motivate their character into killing the victim (or just someone in general).
If possible, it would be preferred that it be a simple, generalized reason (i.e: memory loss motive, money, etc.).
If not, the mods will choose personalized motives (similar to how it was done in DR1, CH2) and give them out to the students. The chosen killer may disregard their given motive for whatever personal motive they would rather have.
If you are going to use a group motive, please message the mods saying either: “Group motive: ______” the blank being the generalized group motive, or “Group motive: personalized”. Once we receive this message, the mods will act accordingly to either show the group motive or send out the personal motives.
DESPAIR FEVER
I would like to state first and foremost that despair fever will only be used ONCE. Once it is used it can not be used again so I would prefer if it only be used in a very desperate situation. If the chosen killer would not act whether or not they are subjected to external motive under ANY circumstances we will use despair fever as the motive.
Please send a message saying: “Despair fever motive” if you decide to use it.
After receiving the message, Monobear will make an announcement saying Despair Fever has started. Students will then be welcome to message the mods if they want their muses to afflicted with despair fever. The person that is the killer does not need to message us, but may if they wish to. We will count the killer automatically once we receive the message.
We will allow up to 2 persons less than half the group to have despair fever. Any persons after that will be denied.
Just so everyone is aware, anything important involving GAMEPLAY will be tagged as #student notes; so they can easily be found on the blog but I’d recommend everyone save the post themselves for reference.
Hello, everyone. This is a post regarding GAMEPLAY. Please make sure you read under the cut if you are a participant in this group.
The first choosing of the killer/killed will take place between 5~7 days from the announcement of the Start of the Game. At that point the chosen killer/killed will be messaged by The Chooser of their positions.
The following rules apply to the rolling:
Every rolling will be completely random
A character can not be chosen as a killer/killed if they were the killer/killed for the corresponding Chapter’s deaths in the official game
i.e: If we’re rolling for the first murder, neither Teruteru or Togami can we chosen for the roles, for the next murder neither Peko or Koizumi can be chosen, etc.
Each student will have one chance to refuse being killed OR killer, but you will only get ONE chance so try not to waste it first round.
Once the killer/killed has been selected, the two of them will decide the MOTIVE as well as the METHOD OF DEATH. Once those are established they will decide several clues to be left behind for the rest of the students; there must be at least THREE.
There will be a person in charge of making the MONOBEAR FILE with the important info and all the information must be relayed to them.
I’d like to remind everyone that we are not real detectives or game writers, so try not to make the deaths too complicated as we will only have a day to solve each case.
After those things, The Chooser will select one person to FIND THE BODY, that person will be given the name of the killed and they will receive the information about the STATE OF THE CRIME SCENE as well as receive any CLUES that will be used in the trial.
They will then make a short rp post of their character finding the body. Please let a Moderator know (and wait for a response) before you post this, as we will likely have to make a body announcement shortly after. Once two more people respond to the initial body-finding post the BODY ANNOUNCEMENT will be made and the "INVESTIGATION” will start.
Truthfully, as all of the clues are already given to the first person, there is no need for a real “investigation” but, as I’m sure most will want to have the characters look around the scene, we will have a few hours for it before the trial begins. The finder may at this point also decide if they want to SHARE any of the clues with other students. The killer/killed may also now decide to give CLUES to a specific character if they wish to do so and inform them of it. (i.e: the ____ clue was hidden in a place where only _____ character would look, etc.).
A few hours (or next day) after a murder, the TRIAL will begin. As of now, the trials will be held on chatsy. If anyone has a better suggestion for a place, please let us know. Trials dates and times will be planned in advance in hopes that the majority of the students will be able to attend.
Trials will be held in a PART 1 and PART 2. They will be held on the same day, though ample space will be given between each in hopes that everyone will be able to participate in at least one part. Keep in mind that the killer must attend PART 2 for their execution.
If you are the killer and, during the planning of the trial times, it seems like we are planning the second part at a time you will be unavailable, please let one of the mods know.
After a trial is completed, it will be announced as to whether or not the killer was found. If the killer is successfully identified they will be declared GUILTY and their EXCECUTION will be revealed.
If the killer is not identified, it will be considered a GAME OVER and the events of the chapter will be reset back to the choosing of the killer/killed.
After a successful trial, the remaining living students will continue ISLAND LIFE as usual. After about three more days the process starts again until the final trial.
Second matter, we are hoping to be making art for these deaths and executions. If anyone currently involved would like to help with the art please let us know.
I would also like to have someone not currently involved as a student as an artist if at all possible to help do art for the executions specifically. Each execution will probably have at least 5 shots each, and all need to be linearted and colored but are already sketched out. Once again, please let us know.
We will not be expecting you to do all the art by yourself as we already have quite a few people willing to help, but any extra help is appreciated.
Please leave us a message saying you’re interested, which part of the arts you’d rather do (lineart, coloring, or both) and how much art you are willing to do (ie: for one character. two characters, etc). Thank you for your time once again.
Now that our numbers are complete, I would like to remind everyone to have their blogs made and url sent to one of the mods to be added to the roster.
I will also like to state that, since us mods are still working out some of the kinks in the flow of the murders/investigation/trials, it may still be a while until the games officially start.
One of us will be making an announcement once everything is finalized and we’re ready to start.
Yup yup! I promise, we’re trying our hardest to get everything set up! It’ll be done as quickly as we possible can get it done, and then the games will start for real!
The mod team thanks everyone for their patience, and invites everyone to take this time to get to know their fellow group members, get some RPs under their belt, and take care of any last minute adjustments to your blogs.
Thank you to everyone for being interested in this blog! We’ll be ready to go soon, so I hope you are all looking forward to it!
