Matt does what he pretty much does best at any social event whenever he ever goes to one, and that is standing on the sidelines watching other people have fun. He only went out and came to this party as a way to try and interact with anyone that are not his coworkers. Plus his love life has been lacking and at his age it’s not to great for him if he’s being honest. With a cheesy themed drink that he ordered in his hand, Matt watched the spectacle of the people interacting and having fun. He was in his own world until a voice interrupted him making him turn to the person speaking predominantly to him and not some open space. “Uh, you said something… to me?” he asked awkwardly. Not only his love life was lacking, but his ability to communicate in a casual setting is lacking as well.
Melody felt very out of place at the party. She rarely ever dressed up or wore heels. Sure sometimes she’d wear dresses but they were always simple little day dresses never anything as fancy as this. She felt like she stuck out, like it was obvious she didn’t belong here. Maybe she should have just spent time back home studying. She was seriously contemplating leaving when she thought she saw a familiar face from the aquarium. She went over to the guy and started talking sighing when she realized he hadn’t heard a word she said. “I um was asking if you worked at the aquarium? I think we might have met there. You wouldn’t have happened to be doing a fundraiser for Australia in front of there recently would you?” she asked biting her lower lip.
