bayviewhemsworth:
I completely understand where you are coming from with that. I have used a tape measure several times since I got here, trying to figure out how to fit furniture through doors and so forth and I must have ended up with at least three slices per finger. The pool was a good time. Saw lots of faces I know and don’t so there was lots of chance to meet new people. You missed out on a good time. Although with the warmer weather I am sure that there will be ample opportunity to hit the pool and beach and enjoy the surf. Speaking of, do you surf?
Right? What’s with that? Why hasn’t someone invented an anti-cut tape measure yet. It’s not like they even need to be sharp! How’s your unpacking going, cuts aside? That’s great you had a good time out there, and I’m starting to think I missed out. I guess I’m gonna have to wait until the beach party to replicate what I clearly missed! And, how great is this warmer weather, finally? I’ve been praying to all sorts of gods to see the start of summer, and it’s here! Well, I wouldn’t call myself an active surfer, but I have surfed on vacations. You surf much?
ronenbv:
Seamus sound cooler then Ronan to me. But my name is a Jewish name a common name in Israeli, and I’m from there and my mother wanted to keep the roots alive when we came to the states. I wish I was as cool and smooth as Romeo, I could never do what he did I don’t think. I also suck with poems and stuff. I had to more teach my parents Engish as I learned it? so I guess I could not get it from them. Her name is fresh and she’s the best dog ever.
Oh, awesome! I didn’t know that little slice of knowledge. Seamus is - surprisingly - Irish, so I figure it’s pretty common, especially around this coast. That’s pretty much the same story with my name, it doesn’t get more Irish than Seamus Patrick. But it was from a few generations ago on my father’s side. We’re all from Michigan. Do you go over to Israel much? Ok, maybe not English poetry, but how about Hebrew poetry? Or is that basically Psalms?
cate-blanchet:
I did! I was living in London, I spent there the last few days, actually between Sidney and London which if you ask me was a big change moving to America, I’ve spent here long period of time but just for work, now everything is different. Thank you, I think I made the right choice coming here. I’ve got four kids and well they are at very different ages, 17, 14, 11 and 5! so I have a lot of work with these four as you can imagine. Okay, a nephew and three dogs are enough to have a busy and really entertaining life full of fun, I love animals, I think they make everything better. Well, well! cheers! can you can send one?
How was travelling between London and Sidney? That’s a really long flight! I’m guessing your work bought you more to LA, not the East Coast. Do you like it here? Yeah, gosh, four kids sounds tricky! That’s wild. I’ve got no clue how you do it, three dogs is the perfect amount of chaos for us. Have you got any pets, Cate? I’ve got an ice cold cocktail with your name on it! You tried Irish coffee before? Because I’ve got a pretty great recipe I can bring over if I’m already making one stop.
townofstan:
Disturbing? It’s the best thing that happened to us, admit it, Seamus. And that’s how Penguin laughing gas is made! Case closed, man. I wasn’t a fan of biology, but now I wonder what I missed all these years. That’s true, rather feces up in the face than that, right? This town is filled with events and activities, though. Lots of things to do here. Where are you staying in town?
I won’t give in. Or maybe a bit... I mean, penguin laughing gas is pretty cool... Hold on, you mean they didn’t teach you about penguin crap in biology class? What kind of school’d you go to? Feces up in the face is the new comparative, there’s a lot of things I’d rather have feces up in the face than do. Research papers being at the start of a very long list. Bayview’s perfect for that. It’s really, sincerely, so nice to see a community this active in the current climate. I’m over in Green Acres, how about you, dude?
apopple:
That does happen. It’s the world we live. You can’t really help that much. I do love diversity and learning from other people in my community though. It’s honestly a blessing to live in the day that we do for that very reason. I’m glad to hear that. There is nothing wrong with going the thrifty or DIY route. I think that it’s less about the stuff and more the person you’re marrying anyways. It’s probably hypocritical since I put a lot of planning into my wedding and we definitely spent a lot of money on it but it was worth it. I mean, the pictures and memories are going to last forever. I don’t know that everyone will but it’s one of those thing, we have to do sometimes. I’m open but surprise meat could be a concern. I definitely enjoy can’t see myself ever giving up my eating habits but I fully support anyone else doing what they love or feel morally drawn toward.
It so is, right? And the neighborhood we live in too, I’ve learnt a bunch since I’ve been in town just from the variety of people we’ve got here. Exactly, at the end of the day, Julie and I are still really happy, but man it was a chaotic wedding from the first day of planning to the evening of the day! I sometimes think that’s why it turned out so well: chaotic, thrifty wedding, great marriage. How long have you guys been married? A small town wedding with everyone in Bayview sounds amazing. Hey, nothing wrong with putting money and planning into it! We plan-- well, Julie planned a lot with her best friend because I was working on a big show for most of the lead up, but it was more the budget that made it so wild - the dresses were made by a costume designer, invitations by my father, in my parent’s yard with my cousin butting in as self-appointed videographer and we’ve even lost the digital photos since... But there’s something kinda nice about everyone chipping in to be part of the day, you know? Surprise meat is the worst, and there’s no judgement from me. It’s hard to switch up your eating habits, like I don’t think I could go back to eating meat again, even without the moral obligations.
butlergerry:
You’re damn right about that! It’s the kind of bio that makes people want to follow you, since they need to see how someone can be so punny and so good at cheese at the same time. Incredibly true, it’s why I’m such good friends with the Loch Ness Monster, as well. I have to make sure that I have all of my favorite Scots’ best interests in mind. National hot dog day is my favorite holiday! I’m kidding, it’s not, although it … does kind of sound appealing, admittedly. I think it’s just observed, maybe if you’re lucky, you can have a hot dog at work, if you’ve a nice boss that wants to keep you happy in the work place. I’m very thankful, aye! Although you’re right, she does. Sometimes I look at her and just wonder what it is exactly that’s gotten into her, but she’s a great dog, I’ve not a single complaint about that. Aha! See! I knew that it would be a hit for you, and I’m glad that I could help out. I wish that I could say that I was a seasoned chef, most of my meals are thawed out from the freezer…? But oh, mate, I’m not picky – I’ve been talking about pizza and wings lately, but I also love Chinese food.
Oh, see it all makes sense now, I was gonna ask you if you knew Nessy. I’m more of a National Pizza Day kind of guy, but hey, you do you, Ger. Wait, sorry, I meant do you get the day off for Burn’s Night? Not hot dog day, jesus, imagine that! If we weren’t already the laughing stock of the world... So I guess what you meant to say is you might get a plate of haggis from your boss if you’re lucky? That’s sweet, it’s always like that with dogs. No matter what they do, you can’t help but love them for it. Even if they’re jerks sometimes. Seriously, with lines like that, I’m surprised she can restrain herself around me, and all thanks to my favorite Scots-wing-man. And I’m not talking about Robbie Burns this time. Ok... What I’m hearing is your specialty is making freezer food taste good? Yes! Pizza’s a hit in the Casa Del Dever, too. You know just last week we made our own Taco Bell. It was awesome.
taylorkitcsh:
You are the cheese Santa now. Lucky for you, you still have until December to make all of your cheese orders. It just takes some practice, right? The first few times are always going to have the best result. Do you still follow a recipe? Or do you member everything by heart now? Opinion, almost everything should be on your bucket list! We only live once, might as well try to attempt everything. Get some experience under our belt while we still can. Were they really? Does that mean that they made sure that you did your homework at a proper time when you were in school? I’m sure you have the teaching in the bag. I’m a pretty decent student, too. See, I told you! She has one of the best cheeses in town. You guys might as well collab at this point. Don’t worry, I’m sure that with time your cheese is gonna be incredible. Having three dogs is stressful. You have to make sure they get the proper exercise, and you get enough food, they entertain them. It’s a lot. Mine are a couple of labradors! So their energy is pretty high. Sadly, there isn’t much that you can say or do to try to make your parents leave their home. But hey, nothing is impossible. It’s a little city called Kelowna! She’s pretty much lived there her entire life, and the majority of my family lives there as well! So it’s tough to convince them to move.
I better start making it now at the rate that stuff takes to curdle! Well, I tend to follow a recipe when I’m being realistic but if I feel like spicing things up? You gotta go off book. You know, you’d be surprised how different kinds of cheese get made really differently, it’s not just the type of milk. I completely agree. Does that mean you’ve got some pretty exciting things on yours? The way I see it, you’ve only got one chance to live so fill it with all the experience you can. See, you would have thought having teacher parents meant all my homework was done on time. No. No I was out playing basketball most the time, but I still got by pretty good and managed to scrape valedictorian. Hey, being a good student’s important - those skills stick with you. Right? Multiple dogs can be really wild but I know mine look after each other well. I mean, that’s what being a pack animal’s about. Oh my gosh! Two labradors? Taylor, how do you do it? I’ve gotta know your secret. I feel like beagles have lab tendencies and one of them is enough beagle for us! I don’t know Kelowna but ‘little Canadian city’ has me hooked. When did you move across the border? I guess it’s hard when basically your whole family lives there, getting them to move. My family’s all from Michigan and my parents have already moved twice, so maybe my luck’s out? Or, third time’s a charm.
kitharingtcn:
Absolutely. It is always hard to say goodbye to a big, big chapter of your life but I feel like it’s even harder when you aren’t entirely satisfied with it. At least I know that I had a really rough time last year, and not only because of the show itself of course but, yeah, it was tough. Whaaat? I’m so disappointed. But I hope that someone is going to post a really dumb study soon enough to keep us busy again! In the meantime, I guess you can still keep making cheese, right? Well, no – my girlfriend is Emilia Clarke so we met thanks to Game of Thrones, a decade ago. At least you know that you don’t have to face that wind in Green Acres, you’re going to be just fine, mate! It is yeah, and I’ve spent pretty much all my life there.
Exactly. Well, I hope this year goes better for you, Kit. Last year was a life experience, hard stuff like that builds who you are. You’re a talented guy, so I’m sure you’ve got plenty stuff to look forward to. Yeah, me too! I need some crap science to test out, how else are we supposed to fill our time? I do, I’ve always got some cheese to make. I know that whatever happens, cheese is there for me. Gosh, now I feel stupid. How long have you guys been together? Good, I’m gonna ban wind from Green Acres. Actually, I guess it gives me the opportunity to whip out my long-neglected thermals. London sounds like a great place to grow up from what I’ve heard. What made you come to Bayview?
bayviewhemsworth:
It’s wonderful to meet you Seamus. And actually, now you mention It, this sort of has turned into a beach week. I got some actual unpacking accomplished but it was the easy stuff that everyone starts with first. How have you been? Are you going to go to the pool party today? It’s such a nice day out that everyone should take a break and head over there.
Hey, it’s the right season for it! It might only be the basics, but any unpacking is a step in the right direction. Baby steps, but still steps. I’m good thanks - well, I’ve bled a lot this week. I’ve been sort of looking around the house at things I want to change, and I’ve been using my tape measure a bunch. And I swear you can’t use a tape measure for more than a few minutes without slicing your fingers open. Is that just me? Ah, no, I didn’t go to the pool party, but I was at the getaway opening the week before. Did you have a good time at the pool party? How was it?
ronenbv:
Oh wow another rare name and I love that. I love names that are not the norm. I guess I like all names since I like names like Jack and Marie. I wish I could be cool as Romao was but really I’m not even close. I suck at writing so I know I’d fail at love notes or a poem. Really it is she knows I adopted her and loves me for it. Thank you!!
Thanks, I’d probably say Ronen is more out of the norm than Seamus! Just a big name fan, huh? See, Romeo’s pretty cool and he’s got a great flirting game but he’s kinda angsty, you know? He needs to lighten up a bit. That’s my opinion, I don’t know. I’m good at poetry but apparently that’s because my parents were teachers. Which somehow grants me the ability to write... love notes? That’s great, I’m happy for you guys! What’s your dog’s name?
bxlarsonbv:
I like Brie better than Anne, I’ll stick to Seamus, because then I can think of harry Potter and it’s great. Do you have the way too spicy ginger beer still? How is the tiling going? I love hobbies and how you are still so ready to learn more.
Thanks, shame I can’t actually do magic though, otherwise I’d fix up that ginger beer. I do! I still have 2 bottles! A bunch exploded in my basement but I managed to save a couple. Apparently they taste like crap, but I like them. They’re not bad. The tiling has currently been postponed, thanks for asking. I’m working on excavating dirt in the garden before I lay down the concrete. It’s really exciting as you can imagine, Brie. Hobbies are great to have, and it’s important to give everything at least a try. Did you have a good week? What’ve you been up to?
townofstan:
It was an article on a news site… but I’m sure one Google search and you can find a few articles. I was chilling in my beach chair, having some phone time when I read it, and it’s just the funniest thing I read. Who could have known that penguins did that? Good question, all I know is that they eat fish but who knows? Hahah, April fools for the scientists! Yeah, that doesn’t sound fun. I rather faint due to penguin feces than write a research paper. Nice to meet you too, man! I know, right? Saw a lot of fun activities so, more time to get around you guys. I did! Did you?
I don’t think you get it, you’ve dropped me into a whole new, distrubing rabbit hole now. I was up at 1am reading these articles, and you’re right! So apparently, it’s from all the fish and krill they eat, which in turn eat a bunch of phytoplankton which has a buttload of Nitrous Oxide in it, laughing gas. And that’s why biology was always the best science in school. Case closed. Right? You might be head first in penguin poop but at least you’re not getting carpal tunnel. It was good yeah, we had a good time. Nice to hear you did too!
cate-blanchet:
I must agree with you there. I am blessed, I do love my rainy days in London and also the extreme weather of Australia but I needed this change and I am loving it so far. As much as I’d like to tell you I have four chimpanzees because I love animals, in fact, I have several animals on my farm –but no, this time i am talking about my human babies. The ones who make me sweat all day long but I wouldn’t know how to live without that chaos. Do you have that kind of chaos in your life Seamus? By the way, It’s a pleasure to know you! I am glad you get my troubles with technology I have a few recipes that I am going to send you with a LOL as my signature.
Raining days? No, I disagree! Actually, maybe like once every two months; That’s the optimum amount of rain. Did you move here from London? Yeah, I’m still adjusting to East Coast weather, but how happy are you that you decided to move in here at the start of summer? Imagine getting here mid-winter... No thanks. I’m happy you like it, Cate! So you’ve got several animals unincluding chimpanzees, but, including children. How old are your kids? There’s a certain age they get to, like 6-8 where it’s like they’re on something, they got so much energy! No, I don’t have kids. Although, I do have a nephew and three dogs. Which, all in one house at once is like a wildlife documentary. It’s great. It’s a pleasure to meet you too, and thanks for the cocktail recipes! Friday night cockails are in your honor.
apopple:
I would venture to say it’s more than what you might find in Los Angeles because Los Angeles people kind of have their own vibe. You’ve got the Londoners (like me) and then you have the New York folks too. Pretty much there is a lot of diversity but with a small town feel. It’s a very special place to me though. I’m biased because it’s where I fell in love, got married and built a family but – there are also lots of other good things going on here. It’s a well known secret and we want to keep it that. That actually sounds lovely about your wife. I’m sure that you get to experience all sort of great things traveling with her so that she can right. I can only imagine that it’s difficult as vegetarians. I’m admittedly a meat eater but I know that there are a lot of people who are choosing to be vegetarians these days. As more people turn it, there will probably be more options available to you. We honestly learn more every day.
I sort of get what you mean, but I think you get those different groups anywhere. It might not be noticable, but it exists. It’s what makes us a modern society, that diversity, you can learn a lot from people with different backgrounds to yours. Yeah, of course, you’ve definitely made some great memories here, and it’s a beautiful place to create memories! I got married in my parents’ backyard and it was the most chaotic DIY wedding, but we sure as hell have some great memories/stories to tell. Keeping Bayview a secret? I’m down. Why not? I think this is one of a couple instances where sharing isn’t caring. Yeah, exactly, we have lots of fun with the locals but surprise meat is the downside of going more rural. It’s fine to be a meat eater. I’ve been vegetarian for 18 years now but before that I used to eat meat. Luckily, meat is usually pretty easy to spot so, you know, you sort of improvise your way round it.
butlergerry:
I couldn’t agree more, we should all be able to go after our dreams, not feel as though they’re being taken from us unfairly! Punwright is a title that you should absolutely aspire to, and I bet that you would be the very best one out there. It might be a bit of both, honestly! His nationality definitely helps a lot, though, I have to support my fellow Scots. Oh, aye, Burns Night is definitely a huge deal, one of our national holidays, basically. She really was, she felt that way from the moment I got her until the moment that she left this world, that’s for damn sure. Shushka’s a bit more… refined in that she knows what no means, at least. But even she has her moments! Crazy Maizy just seems like the perfect title for the doggo, don’t you think? I wish that I could say I was a seasoned chef – or any chef at all – but truth be told… I do not. I’m more a quick meal kind of guy, or I’ll order in take-out, that’s just as good. God, that sort of makes me grateful for the fact that my mum doesn’t have a Facebook.
‘Actor, Punwright and Cheesemaker’, now that’s a Twitter bio I could get into! Of course, yeah, it’s important to support your fellow Scotsman, great poet or not. Gosh, I didn’t know it was that much of a big deal! That’s crazy, and way better than the national days in the US. We’ve got like national hot dog day meanwhile the Brits are celebrating poets. Times like this make me proud to be American... By national holiday, do you mean it warrants a day off work? Or just nationally observed? As much as we love our stubborn dogs, it’s good you’ve not got a double dose and Shushka’s a little more laidback. But I bet she has her moments! I told Julie that one, I was like ‘Check Crazy Maizy out’ as she was chasing her tail around the yard. Needless to say: major husband points. You do you, Ger, I guess cooking isn’t for everyone. Actually, speaking honestly, Julie does most the cooking and I’m more like making/preparing. I totally bought that you were a seasoned chef from that description. Maybe thats your hidden talent. What take-out do you usually go for?
kitharingtcn:
You have no idea how much I can relate to that. Can’t say that the ending of Thrones was marvelous, I know that a lot of people have been disappointed. I trust you, I’m sure that you are going to find another study we could use and check together. I have faith in our new career. Green Acres is absolutely beautiful. This was where my girlfriend used to live, before she moved in with me. And you’re right, the wind is cold in Winter but it reminds me of London so that’s a nice little thing. That’s great! I had a nice time, too.
Yeah, honestly? There’s no other way of saying it: it sucks and it hurts a lot. There was a long time that I was sort of wishing for it to have ended differently. A way that made everyone happy. But it’s just one of those things. You’ve gotta put it behind you and remember what’s good. Anyway, so I’ve been googling like ‘psudeoscience studies’, ‘urban legends’ sort of thing and I’m coming up short. I think we’re gonna have to hold off on our experiments until we find a new one, Dr Harrington. Yeah, it’s really beautiful here! Did you guys meet in Bayview? Right? It’s icy as hell! At least it gives you some nostalgia, all I’m getting is sick. Bayview must have been a big change from London! Is that where you grew up?
