This morning, I got the opportunity to testify infront of the #TXlege Committee hearing on introducing county-wide election day polling centers. This would make voting more accessible to young people, working people with long hours and long commutes, and the vast majority of Texans who have no idea that they are restricted to their precinct polling location on election day. San Antonio held a vigil last night. Sheriff Salazar spoke to give us updates coming in from El Paso. Afterwards, instead of covering the inspirational points we've found ourselves repeating like clockwork my entire life since Columbine (when I was 2 months old), he didn't mince words. He jumped directly into preparations for a mass shooting in San Antonio. Hopefully, if there were attendees in opposition to any of the common, common sense reforms that we need, maybe that hit home for them. They're out. One of the first concerns expressed by Ahmad (center) was that this may distract attention from the issue they were out there fighting. Kids are being straight-up held in proto-concentration camp detention centers and *are* dying (a matter of fact).
