ASH CAUGHT A GRIMLOCK!
Grimlock:
-Flamethrower
-Stomp
-Crunch
-Earthquake
You think Tony would’ve learned after what happened the last time he mentored a kid.
Gwen meets the Shocker. (And she thought the Bodega Bandit was bad!)
"Alas, poor K2! I knew him, Cassian; a droid of infinite sarcasm, of most excellent rebellion..."
SCALE.
Team work makes the dream work.
So over the holiday I nabbed the Snowtrooper from Episode V, and I couldn’t help but do a shoot after some snow fell in my neighborhood. I played with photoshop a little for a blizzard effect, but I figured I’d include the originals for the purists out there. I adore this figure and this shoot was an absolute blast. Enjoy!
Poster putty + Spider-Man = winning.
Wishing you a Rockin' Rogue Christmas! Remember, rebellions are built on ROCK.
SPIDER-FAMILY (Part 4 of 4) Peter Parker - Ultimate Spider-Man Ultimate Spider-Man is how I got started on comics. I loved Spider-Man from the cartoons and movies and reading random issues here and there, but the Ultimate Spider-Man game was about to come out for the PS2 and Xbox (still one of my favorite games) and I wanted to do some reading on what the game was based on. So I went to the bookstore at the mall with my mom and bought the paperback for Volume 6 of Ultimate Spider-Man, “Venom.” Suffice to say I fell in love with Ultimate Spider-Man. I read Bendis relatable teen drama at the perfect time in my life, and I was constantly in awe of Bagley’s pencils. His art brought Venom to terrifying life, and with Bendis’ story together they gave me my favorite comic book villain ever. I chose a favorite Bagley cover from USM, which was certainly difficult. But I definitely wanna do more covers. Ultimate Spider-Man is why I’m a Spider-Man fan, a Marvel fan, and even a comic fan in general. So I only feel like it was right to end with my all-time favorite version of the web-slinger. I really hope you enjoyed my photos and my Spider-rants as much as I did putting them together. So thank you, and I hope you’ll be back for whatever’s next web-heads. Excelsior!
HAPPY ROGUE FRIDAY! (2/2)
Alas, I won’t get to see the movie until I’m back home with my friends on Sunday, but that doesn’t mean Star Wars isn’t on my mind. I can’t wait to see Jyn in action, so here’s some shots I came up with, which I am very proud of. Enjoy!
HAPPY ROGUE FRIDAY! (Part ½)
Alas, I won’t get to see the movie until I’m back home with my friends on Sunday, but that doesn’t mean Star Wars isn’t on my mind. I can’t wait to see the Death Trooper in action, so here’s some shots I came up with, which I am very proud of. Enjoy!
SPIDER-FAMILY (Part 3 of 4) Jessica Drew - Ultimate Spider-Woman
Leave it to the dynamite team of Bendis and Bagley to come up with another awesome interpretation of an existing Spider-character. A clone of Peter and one of the stars of the fantastic Ultimate Clone Saga, Jess is a really fun and unique character who I’m always excited to see when she shows up. She still makes appearances in Miles Morales’ books as kind of a mentor/stand in for Peter, which I’m thankful for. Also a very special shout out to the short-lived All New Ultimates that I fell in love with. It was weird and out there, but it was cool to see Jess and Miles try to lead a Young Avengers team in a story that gave a surprisingly large and amount of interesting back story to its Avengers roster in just 12 issues. And it’s art was dope. I highly recommend it.
Unfortunately she has a different costume on those beautiful covers. But it’s okay cause I lifted this pose from one of my favorite Bagley covers. This is my oldest Marvel Legend and still one of my favorites. She’s actually the reason I bought the craft wire for the webs.
Thanks for reading, and get excited for the Ultimate conclusion of the series true believers!
SPIDER-FAMILY (Part 2 of 4) Gwen Stacy - Spider-Gwen (Spider-Woman) I would say Spider-Gwen is another of my favorite Spider-people, but it's gonna get redundant by part 4 in the series if it hasn't already. From her very introduction in Spider-Verse, I was in love. Her punk rock aesthetic in her books and the incredible colors and art on damn near every page make her books easily one of the most fun comics I've ever read. Not to mention all the surprising and fun ways the book turns Spider-story conventions on their heads. One of my favorite covers of hers is from her first annual (which I have framed on my wall), and that's where I took the inspiration from for this pose. It's a classic Spider-pose. This was the most difficult pose to get in the series for sure. I ended up rubbing off a little paint on her thigh trying to get her there. And getting her feet to clamp on the web (which, by the way I made using craft wire) was tricky too. But a few months later and she's still in this pose, so I would say it was well worth the trouble.
SPIDER-FAMILY (Part 1 of 4) Miles Morales - Ultimate Spider-Man
Alright truth be told I took this back when this wave of Marvel Legends came out over the summer and totally forgot. But that’s okay because I decided to make it part of a weekly series!
I used his first issue as a base for my pose, and I’m really happy with the results (shoutout to Sarah Pichelli on the amazing cover). He’s a great figure with nice clean paint and wonderful articulation. Miles very quickly became one of my favorite versions of Spider-Man, and that’s why he’s first in the series.
CIVIL WAR. Finally got my hands on Hasbro’s Marvel Legends Black Panther and I immediately knew what I wanted to do with it. The figure’s articulation is phenomenal. So good he can actually hold that pose with no support. He’s an incredibly dynamic figure that I really look forward to playing with more.
