Coltland twins au but its Grace refusing to ever go back to Earth for the sole reason that he would now be the younger brother because of relativity
Like, imagine you are the same age as your twin and then you go to another solar system and only age a little under 4 years while they age 13 years.. and then you would have to make the trip back and they are now 18 years and 6 months older than you
Do you think Grace is ever going to realize that he's the only Orpheus to ever look back and still be able to save Eurydice?
ok but consider: in the myth Orpheus doomed Eurydice by looking back. The chance for him to save her hinged entirely on *not* turning back, but in the end he did.
meanwhile Grace looked back *in order to* save rocky, therefore dooming *himself* (at the time he was certain he wouldn't survive the trip to Erid cause no food)
so i dont think the parallel works that well? or at least not in that way. 🤔
Two things (that sounds kinda snipy, im not trying to be)
1. When Orpheus turned in most myths he also doomed himself and was forced to stay in the Underwolrd as well, just away from Eurydice (something that he knew full and well would happen in most myths as well when he made the deal in the Underworld to take her home). So the turning and potentially dooming himself, and knowing that he would be doing so but not caring because of the need to save Eurydice/ Rocky is perfectly on brand with the myth.
2. The most important part in the orginal post was the fact that the word "still" was in there. Because in every other version Eurydice is damned (just as he knew Rocky very well might already be) and Orpheus turning dooms them both. But Orpheus is always going to turn (he wouldn't be Orpheus if he didnt), he is never going to leave the Underworld (just as Grace thought that he would never go back to earth, and he still might not, and wouldnt survive long after getting to Erid) but this is the only time where that turning saves Eurydice and they get to stay together because of it.
Both Grace and Eurydice knew that turning would damn themselves, but only Grace got to turn and still save his Eurydice (and himself)
(Because he knew that he may never have found Rocky, he knew that Rocky could already be dead, etc. But he turned and just this once he got to have the happy ending and not the greek tragedy. Its the only time that Orpheus turning - something that Orpheus will always do - is what saves Eurydice. That he gets to turn and still save her)
Currently trying to work out the kinks of a Modern AU With Powers (cause there are more kinks there than you would think if you keep the powers) that isnt just them in college or high school like most modern AUs seems to be (cause let's face it, so many people that oppose a normal life are not all going to fit neatly into a college/ 9-5 lifestyle)
I'll add a link here to a master post for this AU once I have more. Im thinking of doing some character sheets for the SH and a fic series on ao3
can u write a boris pavlikovsky x femreader fanfiction? boris goes to the park after his father kicks him out of the house at midnight,he goes to the park and after hanging out on a bench for a bit he sees reader, goes over to her, they introduce themselves, smoke cigarettes together, and all that. boris thinks he'll never see her again but the next morning he sees her sitting at the back of the school bussss
Just as a general rule I actually hate xreader fics. Always have, always will. I actually have xreader anything filtered out on here for every fandom im in.
No hate to Anon, but this is one of the few types of fan media that I actually loathe

Im glad that most people agree that Mihawk, Perona, and Zoro are a father and his two teen kids that showed up at his door one day and he just went "OK, your mine now... I guess" cause I like that dynamic, and was reasonably scared that people were going to be shipping Perona and Zoro more then they were going to lean into the sibling dynamic of them
saw one too many people talking about how "zoro has spent more time with Perona than the Strawhats, btw" for me to not think this might happen. Like, yeah, he has. But also, every sh has spent more time with their mentors and the other people on the island that they were slapped to then the SHs. That's how time works
That is a goth father, goth daughter, and moody son that wears too much green to be goth (someone always gotta ruin the asthetic)
The timeline of Luffy's childhood honestly makes no sense when it comes to Luffy's age.
Luffy meets shanks when he is seven
Shanks spends about a year returning to the island
He leaves and Luffy goes to Dadan (7 years old)
Luffy meets ace and spends 4 months chasing after him (still at 7 years old) before ace, sabo and luffy get along
They spend about a year together (the seasons change, and eventually make their way back to the summery season we started with)
Sabo "dies" when Luffy is seven
...thats a long time to be 7 years old.
(Realistically, luffy should have just turned 6 when he met shanks, was about to turn 7 when he goes to dadan, and about to turn 8 when sabo dies, cause the timeline does not work otherwise. One cannot be seven for that long)
Look, I know everyone got whitewashed post time skip (for like no reason too, cause that was a lot of effort to go in and make new color pallets for basically everyone when they were already having to add to existing color pallets anyways cause of the art style changes with things like the eyes and stuff, like... waste of effort there. I would not have been doing that much extra work if I could help it, and messing with the skin ane hair tones was definitely extra work) so like, this idea is essentially coping, but I find it funny so here it is:
What if the reason that Zoro is so much paler now is because he spent two years on an island of doom and gloom with the two most goth people we know?
Like, when we first meet zoro, he's spent weeks tied outside, day and night, baking in the sun. Then their shitty boat (before Merry) had no roof to it, and on the Merry he was outside a lot too (napping and training... and napping), and it wasnt really until we go to the sunny that he started training in doors more. And then near immediately after getting the sunny they get split up.
Like this isnt to excuse them whitewashing everyone (cause that has been a problem with op since s1 e1, and has only gotten worse post ts), but it is a funny thought to me that Zoro specifically was tan before and became pale after living on Halloween island 2.0 (1.0 being thriller bark) with Mr. Vampire wannabe and spooky ghost girl
The asl siblings share no blood, but they do all kinda look a little like each other.
Ace and luffy: black hair (im also counting how much they eat and the narcolepsy of it all)
Sabo and luffy: same eye shape and similar smile shape, and (if koala is to be believed) act a lot alike
Ace and Sabo: same wavy hair style and similar heights.
Like, no one questioned at all that luffy and ace were brothers. It was more surprising when it came out that they weren't blood related then if they were. And I dont think anyone would have questioned that sabo and luffy were brothers either even if they didnt know about the sworn part of it, cause all you gotta do is spend five minutes with them both
Like its small things, but its there
I dont think its crazy to say that luffy cares about politics... he just does it differently than what we're used to.
He's on the ground in all of the countries he goes to, he sees how the politics of that country (and the world government) affects the people there that he grows to care for and how it takes their freedom away. Then he fights to fix it. To remove the curropt warlords, kings, "god", emperors. Then he makes sure that someone good is in their place.
He cares about the effects, which makes him have to care about the causes. Its not the way that we're used to politics (with protests and really looking at the complex issues, and voting and research and debates) but this is also a world where a lot of the problems Luffy faces can be solved by punching the strongest person near him so he doesnt have to care about politics in the same exact way that we do... no one else in one piece really does either. The closest that we see to our politics within op is during times like the reverie and the marines, but thats not exactly something the citizens like luffy are supposed to have a hand in. They only feel the consequences of it all. The most we've seen citizens having a hand in politics were revolutions and the petition on fishman island.
So, I dont think its crazy to say that he does care about politics, he just does it in a way thats different from how we are used to viewing and influencing politics in our world. He cares about fixing them to bring freedom to his friends, because he sees how they suffer under the choices of their corrupt leaders.
He's that sort of grumpy cat that will come and sit in your lap of their own free will, but will look pissed as hell the whole time that they are doing so. No one forced the cat to be there, but damn it's tail is going left and right like someone did
(Cause he invited himself to this function, such an important thing to remember)
Hot take (??) I think that its fine that Sakura stayed home and slept most of the day. I'm suprised more people didnt do so with the bags we've seen under everyone's eyes.
He looked utterly exhausted before he even got the call from Endo. Hell, before he even called Endo himself before that, too.
Sakura needed a day to catch up on sleep (was it good sleep? No, nightmares suck. But it was still sleep all the same and he definitely needed it) he was not going to be any good to anyone in a fight for the past few chapters if he had tried to do so without taking a break at some point soon. He was running way past empty
I dont like it when people write Law alinging with Luffy as him looking for a crew to use and dispose of easily for the sake of taking down Doflamingo. For starters, he orginally went into the take down Mingo plan trying to do the entire thing on his own, Luffy was a happy accident to his suicidal plans. And furthermore, the literal moment that he doubted if they were all going to make it out of the plan alive he sent some of the weaker members (with Sanji to protect them) on ahead to Zou, and then turned around and immediately tried to back out of the alliance with Luffy so that Luffy and the rest of the crew would leave too and Law would be the only one to die for his revenge.
He never wanted anyone else to die for the sake of his vengeance, not his own crew and not another crew either. And because of that he could never genuinely see the Straw Hats as "disposable" in the callous way some people write it where he doesnt care if they live or die. Its the whole reason why his original plan to take down Doflamingo was built on having Kiado do it for him, because even if Doflamingo killed him once he realized what was going on, any allies or crewmates of Law's at the time would not be caught in the crossfire if he could help it.
Disposable doesn't look like that. If anything, he was treating himself as the disposable one
Im currently watching the whole cake island arc right now, and am a few episodes past Luffy defeating Cracker by eating all of the biscuits until he was full and then some. And the fact that he said that he was full and couldn't eat any more (something he hasn't said before- that I can remember atm- outside of filler episodes) stuck with me to the point that I cant help but wonder if this is one of the first times that he has actually been full since he ate his devil fruit.
Some of the other times we've seen him talk about being full (usually at banquets and things like that) two scenes later he's eating again and is skinny again. But, during Whole Cake island he'd been snacking all day before even touching the biscuits. And when he was done with the biscuits he seemed more likely to puke then to eat more before (and for a bit following) the fight with Cracker.
I honeslty kinda wonder how many meals on the ship Luffy leaves genuinely still hungry because of his devil fruit (and how Sanji would feel if he knew that luffy wasn't being glutton, but was constantly living with real hunger to the point that it might have stunted his growth (cause dragon and garp all tall, and luffy is decidedly not))
Im on the last few episodes of dressrosa arc (got three episodes left), right, and I honeslty kinda wonder if Corazon's feather coat didnt use to be pink or red or some other color than black, but he just accidentally set himself on fire so much that it is now black... like he sets himself and other places on fire a little too much for this to not be a possibility... and law wouldn't have known cause it would have already been that way for a while...
I do think that there is something to be said about the fact that Suo in recent chapters is still shown with the eyepatch on, and no one else that we've seen in RC has one other than him. Add this with the fact that he wore a medical eye patch in the middle school flashback, and I honeslty think that there is something medically wrong with that eye.
If it was an RC thing (like a symbol) then more people would he wearing them. Or if it was to hide some sort of branding (like some people have thought), then we would see others with some sort of facial marking, or making attempts to cover said markings. Neither of those are the case though, so its likely something medical in nature.
(It can be medical and still go back to RC, dont get me wrong on that (cause let's be honest, it probably does track back to rc somehow) its just still a him specific thing though, no one else thus far)
