As well as the ending. So my overall FEELING about the ending was positive! I felt satisfied with it, may it be while watching it in theatres with full sentimentality or in my living room at 1 AM this morning with all the feedback I've read over on internet. I acknowledge all the analysis and can agree about them, but the show is too powerful for me to throw it away because of the ending, which I did appreciate anyway. (Nothing could make me hate this show, not even the creator, sorry guys, it's just- the cast... they're my kids now, I- I can't abandon them 💔💔)
THOUGH yes I have an issue with Jax and how badly she treated Ribbit, indeed I still ship them, the fact is, THAT IS WHY I SHIP THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE- don't get me wrong, my vision of the ship is about breaking both of them and traumatising them of even thinking of each other lol, but the dynamic interests me so much! I like the DOOMED in all of it, it has such 2000's depressing teen romance with unhealthy addiction and grieving, and MOSTLY, growing from it. I want to see Ribbit grow from it and REFUSE to make up with that gal who'd only want her presence while it feels comfortable. Because Ribbit was willing to get out of her comfort zone for Jax, but Jax wasn't. And Jax ran away, not out of fear of hurting again, like people could think with the story with her mother. It was about protecting HERSELF. If others were her priority, I don't think she would have gotten out of the way to reject her like that, not even just away from her, but even away from the group at some extent. I mean, yeah, she's very complex and has a surely traumatising backstory, but that doesn't erase the pain she continuously left Ribbit in. She wasn't born a "monster", she was formed into one. And she should have been held more accountable than she was in the movie. Although I can understand that the fact she dies can cloud judgement for close ones, I don't really know though, I never went through any loss like the unaliveness of a loved one, but I do believe from whatever I've experienced of loosing someone, it is that emotions *will* cloud your judgement, however much it gets to be. Hence I guess the crew's reaction to Jax's abstraction is understandable that way.
Also, I love the fact that Caine gets to reappear and talk to the cast. I can hear the opinions that says that he didn't get enough time for his redemption (I remember having seen someone say he would have at least needed someone to help him prove he did change) yes, I agree, and maybe, that time could have been found in the fricking EDIT THEY MADE OF JAX (I still can't get over this lmaoooo) BUT, at least, at the very least, I think his character growth was very well represented, the way he learns to adapt in the void, seeing him actually get to learn about the trapped humans from the social medias and understand them, he learned empathy or at least compassion, and he chose to reveal their identities, as well as their real self's life. I like that he chose to do that, because as for how I see it, it shows that the cast doesn't need to have much regrets as their real self did manage to get better after all the worst memories they were probably bathing into from the start of this show. I see how it can get liberating as well, as they get to see that they are doing alright out there and there's no need to worry about the macroverse anymore. Now they have each other as their new family, their new home. THINKING ABOUT THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY RAHHHHHHH
