(TADC: the last act fanart)
AAAAH okay wow yeah as i mentioned i was there for the og transfem jax theories and im just so pleasantly shocked so i had to do a quick doodle of them all at zooble’s bar
Some quick sketches I did of Jax to cope with the ending (she’s so dear to me)
translation of what I think these lines meant:
I never got to know this part of you
I never let that part of me flourish or grow
I didn't even like the TADC ending but the fandom reaction differences is so funny
Every other social media: Jax is not a girl. He is a boy. Blue is for boy. He's so forced rep he's not trans girl he's a boy boy boy it's impossible for him to be trans actually trans women aren't real
Tumblr: Jax is an emo girl. Pomni x Jax x Ribbit threesome poly lesbians. Insert epic fanart.
TADC EPISODE 9 SPOILERS!!!
I am genuinely getting close to crying just thinking about how tragic Jax’s story is when you put it in the perspective that she’s a trans woman.
It’s sad enough as it is. A person who grew up in a bad environment, pushing away their friends because they don’t want to be vulnerable or exposed again, hoping to get everyone to hate them before they go.
But if you add the layer of Transfemininity it just gets WORSE.
The line about her mom saying she’s just like her dad, and her most likely telling her she’s a trans woman, before her mom just laughs at her and degrades her.
The way Ribbit was the only one in the circus she told, and then she pushed her away out of fear, which started the pushing her friends away cycle.
The song ‘Isn’t she lovely’ playing during her montage, which is about a baby girl, referencing the life as a girl she could have had if she were just honest.
I actually wanna cry, her story is so genuinely tragic. I’LL JUST STAY DELULU AND SAY THAT ABSTRACTION CAN BE REVERSED WITH TIME AND SHE GETS TO LIVE HER LIFE AS A GIRL WITH HER FRIENDS TRUST.
THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING
I can't put into words how much this show meant to me, how many incredible people and milestones in my life happened because of it
these characters mean a lot to me, and even though in the end I was wrong about the soma theory, I'm happy with how the story ended. knowing they got better in the real world and that the people of the circus not only became their own people but also managed to turn things for the better makes me hopeful
thank you @gooseworx, this really was a treasure
THIS IS LATE BUT I HAVE A GOOD BIT TO SAY! [Also I guess spoilers on page 3 and subsequent if you haven't watch the finale]
I have been a TADC fan since day one (Pilot days) and I has been a part of me and my friends lives for the past 3 years. Though I do have my small issues with the finale and series as a whole (I wished some of the other characters got to shine more and feel like Jax's protagonist status was a bit forced, but you have probably heard all of that a million time), I like how the series ended. Though there most likely not be any more content made by gooseworks involving this series (I do sympathize with how much strain this show has put on her and hope Glitch can do better for their creators and set proper boundaries between fans and creator) remember that we have the incredible land of fan creation that now that everything is on the table, in a matter of speaking, that can help come up with even more ideas.
Regarding this art, is this a AU? Possibly ending? No clue. I just had a ruff week and used this to get back into drawing. If this gets popular then I could make more, I do have some other ideas, but this is a basic 'what the crew does after the finale. Abstract is cured, the best it can be, and how they are trying to live a 'normal' life. Designs may change between later drawings because this is the first time I drew most of these characters.
