Life is right now. While you’re waiting for your dream job, your future spouse, your goal weight, a new home, a change in appearance. Life is happening while you are working on mastering a skill, being in the unknown, not knowing which way to go, feeling stuck. Most of life happens in the waiting. Not in the achievements or successes which are nothing but milestones. Don’t wish the time you have away waiting for something that lives in the future. Look around. What does today offer that you might not want to miss?
The older I get the more I notice everyone is just hurting silently, some loudly.
Make it a habit in 2025 to stop going back and forth with people you know don’t posses a similar intellectually depth to you over complex subjects. The only thing you’ll get out of that is being completely drained out of your energy, frustrated, and on never-ending circular arguments. Just ignore them if you can, and elevate your circle with people who are intellectually your peers that can make you feel heard and whom you can learn from as well.
In this New Year, don’t be like Lot’s wife, do not look back. Learn to leave the past behind and look forward to what is to come. Reminiscing on the things that were keeps us stuck in loops that hinder our growth as people. We should look forward because a new year bring with it new opportunities and clean slate, so take advantage of that.
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
Isaiah 43:18-19
“january, magnetize my intentions so i can attract what is meant for me, cleanse my discernment so i can repel what isn’t. open pathways that direct me back to myself and close any doors that lead towards doubt. may the temptation to return to chapters i’ve outgrown never find me.”
