He’s mischaracterised as a rich snob a lot in fics but I can’t actually think of any instances of him being mean in-game

I think those things happen because people remember Edgeworth as a rival prosecutor, who tramples upon Phoenix’s arguments, and makes fun of Phoenix when he chooses the wrong evidence. But his “courtroom persona” is quite different from who he actually is outside his job.

He acts aggressive and condescending in court because it’s a BATTLE and his job is to FIGHT to convict the criminal. But away from court, he is very shy, reserved, and polite gentleman. We are talking about the guy who offered his handkerchief for crying girl who just acted very rude to him, and didn’t even blame her when she blew her nose on his crazy expensive cravat. Instead he asked “Kay, are you going to be alright?” and when she apologized he just said ”Don’t worry. I have a spare.” And that girl never forgot his kindness for years.

(Which is why -even though I worship and adore the Wright Family AU- I can’t agree this post. Edgeworth was always kind and submissive to children, such as Kay, Franzy, Cody, even when he was a Demon Prosecutor.)

I always really love that moment at the end of 2-4 when everything is over and Maya is back safe, and we finally sort of see Edgeworth back in “normal modo”.

Edgeworth more or less has two really distinct faces - the smug, hammy, theatrical prosecutor putting on a show for the sake of getting his verdict, and the - for lack of a better term - “real Edgeworth” who is actually fairly subdued and withdrawn and really, really, really socially awkward.

I really do love Edgeworth in 2-4, Great Revival and all, and the air he puts on as he tries to demonstrate to Phoenix what he’s learned and what Phoenix still needs to learn - that smugface sprite! - and lecturing about the value of truth, and confidently commanding the courtroom - but when Maya breaks in and starts poking him and he immediately collapses back into “um, uh, ummm…” IT’S REALLY PRECIOUS TO ME OKAY

and then edgeworth in gs3 is like king awkward the whole way through so a+++

I also just really love beyond words the way that—in spite of everything and his insistence that the truth is what’s important, that they’re not heroes and their job starts and ends at the search for truth, and the horrible shit he pulls on Adrian to force her to testify for the sake of “truth,” when push comes to shove - he couldn’t go through with it knowing it would kill Phoenix. But likewise, the way Phoenix, who’s prime motivation is always his interpersonal relationships, draws back at the chance to save the person closest to him because of Edgeworth.

One of the reasons why I consider edgeworth as uke.

Just look how he is socially awkward. He couldn’t even say simple “Thank you” or “I’m glad you’re okay” without stuttering, he took Maya’s silly advice seriously because he really didn’t know how to show gratitude to others, and the actual line of Edgeworth when Phoenix and Maya invited him for a dinner was “Um…um… If you insist…” I can’t really think Edgeworth would “dominate" the relationship when he is so damn shy at social interaction.

The only time Edgeworth is dominant and commanding is when he works as a lawyer; that’s what he is genius for and familiar with. He shows full confidence when standing in the court or running a crime investigation. He proudly raises objection and crushes his opponent’s arguments. But when it comes to personal matter, he just reverts back to his insecure and reserved self. I mean, he literally ran away at the site of Phoenix in the game. Even twice. ("Hey, Edgeworth, come back!” “Hey! Don’t you dare run away!”)

So when I say Edgeworth is uke, it isn’t actually about sex. Sex position can always be changed, especially when they are both male, and Edgeworth is still so sexy when he tops as much as being topped. But about the aspect of relationship, I just can’t agree Phoenix would be the submissive or shy one; that usually makes Edgeworth into rich-smart-handsome-arrogant cliche of seme, which both of them are not. Phoenix was the one who stalked chased him, defeated him, saved him, and taught him. Now Phoenix will teach him about being a lover, which Edgeworth apparently has quite a lot to learn.

Can we talk about how Scout’s grown as a character though? And as a person, if he were a person.

Like compare the first image to the last one.

Expiration Date was a huge rollercoaster of character dev for Scout, I’ve been trying to not rant about it for a while but sorry I can only let that brew in my head for so long.

But I just love how much Valve’s done with him. Like almost every stereotype held about Scout ever was shot down in 2014, it was beautiful.

hello everyone!! im here to give yall some information which might help you out a little bit-

i see lots of bloggers in the kin communities fill up their posts and series/character names with slashes/dots/spaces/numbers to avoid tumblrs search engines finding your post and putting it in the series tag, or showing up when searched- which is understandable, since that’s a Really Scary Idea to a lot of us kin. unfortunately, it can be difficult to read, and hard to look at for those of us with issues parsing text. luckily, there’s a way to avoid this happening without garbling up your posts so much!!

if you go into your blogs settings and scroll down to the directory subsection, there’s an option you can switch off to disable tumblr’s weird habit of throwing every post with any given word into its related tags- it looks like this!!

now, none of your posts will ever show up in any tags or searches, unless you deliberately tag it that way!!

imho, this is generally a pretty good idea to do on all your blogs- but i think it’s especially helpful information for kin bloggers, since we have to spend so much energy worrying about and avoiding being targeted and harassed.
