Ok, so my best guy friend liked me for the longest time, and I did not feel the same way. He ditched me and my friendship completely for this girl. They are essentially Lavender Brown and Ron Weasley. I have been really jealous of the whole thing (but their PDA is mildly nauseating), and I lost one of my best friends over another girl. 

I was explaining this comparison to my mother, who did not read HP but watched all the movies with me, and she looked me in the eyes and said,

“He is not your Ron Weasley. You are Hermione, and you can do better than that.”
