like stars we shine
Settle Yourself Lad.
We can drink ourselves into Oblivion,
Or smoke ourselves up to Olympus.
Fanatical escapism to fantastical Sceneries
Induced by fleeting feelings of intense melancholic solitude.
Most probably caused by prior High times,
And so we fall prey to the serotonin snare,
Blissfully unaware of how it can leave you impaired.
Equally it’s easy enough to walk out in the street,
Zero attention to traffic may be necessary for nervous eschaton flyers.
Even the most remote hide-aways,
out in the sticks, made from the sticks, miles and miles from cities,
As far some birds fly, can barely offer up any form of tranquility.
Occasionally it’s as though that silent serenity is not actually achievable.
That of which monks and yogis speak of,
Concealed within the self, amid bustlings and dronings of fragmented notions
That Zen place must exist, within or without the mind or body.
Some Equilibrium and/or quietude, at some point, would be appreciated.

Abandoned Chinese Fishing Village Being Swallowed By Nature
Shengsi, an archipelago of almost 400 islands at the mouth of China’s Yangtze river, holds a secret shrouded in time – an abandoned fishing village being reclaimed by nature. These photos by Jane Qing, a creative photographer based in Shanghai, take us into this lost village on the beautiful archipelago.
i’d love to visit here
Soon silence will have passed into legend. Man has turned his back on silence. Day after day he invents machines and devices that increase noise and distract humanity from the essence of life, contemplation, meditation.

🌌 hallucinogenic mind 🔮
One of the most satisfying experiences I know is just fully to appreciate an individual in the same way I appreciate a sunset. When I look at a sunset … I don’t find myself saying, “Soften the orange a little on the right hand corner, and put a bit more purple in the cloud color” … I don’t try to control a sunset. I watch it with awe as it unfolds. It is this receptive, open attitude which is necessary to truly perceive something as it is.

Simulated Happiness.
So often on social media I see people who are struggling to like themselves.
Why? Because they want to be happy. But how to be happy?
We are steeped in a culture that objectifies our lived existence into play dolls. Is your makeup on point? How about your clothes and accessories? Do you have a sixpack? Are you tall enough, rich enough? Are you working on that thigh gap?
From television and film to billboards and magazines, the equation of identity with body/circumstance is continually re-enforced until the only way we know ourselves is through things.
Then how do we seek happiness? Through those things! Delusional.
It’s one thing to be healthy, it’s another to be fixated on appearances. It’s one thing to have direction in life, it’s another to rely on roles and outcomes for a sense of self.
Happiness that is the result of anything is only a fleeting shadow of the Real Thing. Happiness is your actual self, the mood of your fathomless existence. You already are it! But because you have falsely accepted yourself as something finite, limited to body and circumstance, you have lost touch and feeling with this fundamental reality.
You don’t need to like yourself. The self that can be liked or disliked is not your actual self. What you need is to know what you are not. You ride this body but the body is not you. You use this mind but the mind is not you. You manifest these circumstances but they do not define you.
Trace the feeling of liking, of being happy, of being at peace, of loving, to its source within you. The same place you feel these things is also their source. And it is You.
Free yourself from the trap of needing to “like yourself.”
Namaste
Its nice at the beach at least.
