the more i use this app the more i understand how TMEs view biological sex. they genuinely do think that biological sex is immutable and no matter what a trans woman will be a biological man and a trans man will always be a biological woman. this view is why they think trans women (in their eyes biological men) have privilege over trans men (in their eyes biological women).
in their eyes, seeing trans women as men is not wrong or transphobic, its seen as an unarguable truth. it is simply just "rude" to actually point it out. its like pointing out a womans weight to them - while its true a woman might be larger, it would be rude to point it out
“We can always tell” mfs when they see a tall butch cis woman in the women’s bathroom
If Fujimoto from the movie can accepted his daughters name change you have no reason to deadname your child.
i hate the concept of a "noncompliance" in medicine. says absolutely scathing things about the medical and psych industry that a patient not consenting is seen as a problem to push through and a problem with the patient themself rather than someone exercising their right to informed consent that SHOULD BE FUCKING RESPECTED.
i think leftists need to start thinking of taking a job as a psychologist/ psychiatrist with the same extreme suspicion as someone taking a job in the justice system
yes, the person in the justice system *could* be a prison teacher or a restorative justice practitioner, but most likely they are going to uphold the status quo and make a living of the violent oppression of others.
just like how the psych *could* be anti forced rescue, anti forced treatment and work with service users to decide if they wish to be diagnosed or not. but more likely, they will swallow what the system teaches them unquestioningly, and go on to enact terrible violence to a group of people they see as a doomed underclass to fall in line with the policies of regulatory bodies.
“all things in the dsm are beyond criticism because it’s undeniable researched science” Oppositional Defiant Disorder is entirely characterized by traits also seen in trauma survivors and autistic/adhd people, and is disproportionately diagnosed among black and indigenous people to the deficit of autism and adhd. “Female hysteria”, being gay, and being trans like at all used to be the DSM also. come on dawg
Mad Pride is important for neurotypicals too, by the way.
It’s for the girl who has her partner threaten her with wellness checks everytime she tries to leave their abuse, because she “must be insane”.
It’s for the child who fights back against abuse and gets taken to a child psychiatrist that diagnoses them with ODD instead of reporting the parents.
It’s for dark-skinned minorities who are diagnosed with “scary” disorders more often than their white peers.
It’s for the trans person denied their transitional surgeries because of “potential underlying disorders”.
dear fellow autistic people: if you consistently come out of doctor’s appointments feeling emotionally (and sometimes physically) hurt, but you feel bad for feeling hurt because “the doctors were being nice”, the doctors were not being nice.
this is something I had to learn the hard way. doctors often dress up their words all pretty so you can’t sue them. I, for a long time, mistook this as genuine kindness. It’s not. It’s just being professional. even if they didn’t call you a slur or anything that doesn’t mean they weren’t ignoring your needs.
trust what your body and emotions tell you. if you are feeling hurt, there is a reason, and you need to listen to it. please listen to it.
IDK I think if cis men are being told that being fat will lower their testosterone and make them Insufficiently Masculine, and cis women are being told that being fat will raise their testosterone and make them Excessively Masculine, and fat trans people are being denied the right to medically transition if they're fat, and thin trans people are warned against HRT because it will make them fat (and this is said about both testosterone and estrogen HRT), and androgynous-presenting people are told that only thin people count as androgynous...
Then maybe...
Maybe...
Maybe the weight loss industry is just using Gender to enforce fatphobia.
I expect pushback from this but I never understood where D&D is queer came from whenever I join a D&D table its nearly always full of cis het men who love to debate with me being the sole queer person.
I’m so over cis feminists leaving out trans people in discussions about misogyny and incels, literally every trans person is also just as harmed by incels as cis women are. It’s like not including gay people in conversations about heterosexual relationship dynamics and related bigotries even though they too are harmed by it. (Arguably worse because heterosexual relationships have been more accepted far longer than homosexual relationships)
What people on Tumblr need to realize is that having a shitty opinion is not equal to being a danger to society. You do not need to run a blog dedicated to a transfem user, documenting every wrong thing she's ever done, and sending her death threats on anon. What the hell happened to block but don't harass?
I'm pro prison abolition and anti death penalty. When someone commits a crime, it does more good to rehabilitate them so they either learn not to or don't need to commit that crime anymore. This includes the most serious crimes. Why would I feel any different when the crime is saying something shitty on the internet?
Seeing someone, with their full chest, say "very little people have been harmed by seeking a therapist" made me so genuinely upset. Like wow you are just ignorant on a whole new level!
it really is impressive how common the response to transfems going 'people underestimate how traumatic a transfems childhood is, particularly going through puberty' by transmascs is 'shut the fuck up, unlike you we actually had a traumatic childhood with rape, abuse and conversion therapy that you (males) would never understand)' implying that we don't go through that and like we do, the CSA rate for transfems is 58% at least. And while fucking hate bringing up examples of 'transmisogyny effects non transfems' cause it decentres us and acts like non transfems are the real victims, this viewpoint also implies that you don't believe gay boys have a traumatic childhood due to their queerness, that being amab is somehow an exemption for homophobia towards children.
Also don't try to argue that this isn't happening, I'm writing this in response to seeing this exact discourse blow up for the third time in a month
Be less afraid to use a girl's ethnic name pls
"I'm worried about butchering the pronounciation" So there's this cool thing called a search engine. Or youtube. Or you can just you know, politely ask the person. Use that girl's ethnic name and don't try to shorten it without permission
Like I promise you, even if you fuck up the pronunciation we will still appreciate the effort infinitely more than if you just don't even bother. Because it shows that you're willing to try and respect us and our names! And we can correct you if you mess it up and you can know for next time!!
There are also a bunch of great tags on this post and I highly recommend taking a scroll through the reblogs to read all of them
