There's also a huge sect of trans men that act like trans women are lauded for being "innocent helpless women" and they're hated for "becoming oppressors:" which explains why they're always like "being a tgirl doesn't make you a pure holy being that is incapable of harm!"
There’s definitely a conversation to be had about “womanhood-as-innocence politics” which is mostly done by white women to present themselves as incapable of victimizing others, including women and that is a dangerous sentiment to hold as any person. But that’s not the conversation they’re attempting to have here.
And the idea that trans women get any kind of “protections” of womanhood is absurd, and extremely questionable even when applying this concept to non trans women. There is no “damsel in distress” privilege that isn’t mediated by other factors such as race. Women do not get this “benefit” for their own benefit as women, but usually as a weapon against other women (see “white women’s tears”) in order to present themselves as a non threat to patriarchy and white supremacy perhaps even an accomplice in such things.
It’s certainly a trans version of men’s rights discourse, which often saw any issue men face (say, the potential of a military draft) as somehow the fault of women because they would be systematically excluded by the peers of that man in equally participating. “Women are afraid of me and that’s unfair” was a common men’s rights complaint in the 2010s too.
you can just say "person with ovaries." "an AFAB" makes literally no sense here, in addition to being grammatically nonsensical. sorry but this bleet has been pissing me off all day but i feel like if i reply to it i'll get it trouble.
a trans man who hasn't had any ovaries for 25 years isn't going to experience perimenopause in his mid-40s, so why include him based on a gender assigned to him as a baby? like... he was a baby.
like why bother acting like you want to be trans-inclusive if you're too lazy to recognize that sometimes, trans bodies aren't going to be the same as they were at birth when they got handed their baby gender
Washington Post is paywalling the article but it looks like Taylor Farms — a consumer bagged salad brand that also supplies produce to grocers and fast food chains like Taco Bell, Walmart, McDonald's, Chipotle, Burger King, KFC, and Meijer —may be at least one of the sources of the current cyclosporiasis outbreak.
Taylor makes bagged greens, salad kits, chopped salads, the works. Keep avoiding supermarket greens, but keep an especially close eye out for this brand/supplier. The above list of grocers and fast food chains is NOT exhaustive, so please continue getting lettuce and other raw produce taken off your burgers, sandwiches, etc.
Their other brand is EARTHBOUND ORGANICS!!!
Oh my God, my wife has been in the hospital unconscious for a two week.
My wife is suffering from severe malnutrition and is five months pregnant. We've been here at the hospital for a week, fighting for her.
My wife urgently needs treatment in order for her condition to improve.
We are living through catastrophic conditions; we are suffering from a severe shortage of food and medicine.
We urgently need 450 euros to secure the necessary treatment and food for my wife and unborn child before her health deteriorates further. I implore you, with compassion, to help me and stand by me in my ordeal. I cannot bear to see my wife die before my eyes; she means so much to me.😭
In this cursed war, I lost my mother and older brother due to lack of medical treatment caused by the war and the siege. The pain of loss is unbearable; my heart still aches every day because of their absence. 😭
Please help me secure the necessary treatment for my wife. Support me; don't leave me alone in this cruel world that abandons us to die alone. 😭
Please don't leave me alone. I beg you to help me save my wife. I don't want to lose her. I want her to recover and stand by me so we can continue our lives together. 😭

THESE MAY BE MY LAST WORDS ABOUT MY WIFE.
This could be the last time I write anything while my wife is still alive, and I will never forgive anyone who sees this and scrolls past without caring or even sharing.
The doctors said severe bleeding and weakness caused this terrifying moment, and without urgent treatment it could happen again anytime, so I ask, can you help me get treatment for my wife??, please donate now.
Do you remember the episode of Spongebob where he's training gary for the snail race and does a coach persona + calls gary a girl and has an aside where he's like "I called you a lady to demean you 🤓" and right after he says that it cuts to sandy and she somehow telepathically feels that Spongebob just did something misogynistic and us like I feel like I need to kick Spongebobs ass for some reason. And then she appears just at the end of the episode to kick his ass.

tbh i think a lot of people turn to queer history rather than actual theory because it's easier to comprehend and less confrontational to the bigoted worldview a lot of y'all hold. Appeals to tradition are meaningless to me, I turn to history not replicate it but understand how we got here and what has and has not worked
"Whether someone understands it or not, these are the consequences of the political views they're espousing" is a pretty important analysis tool for online movements because quite honestly, over half of everyone engaging in politics online have no foundations for the stuff they're saying and are just saying whatever makes them feel like a member of an in-group.
If your in-group is "the left" you're very much not immune to this. In fact, trying to do left-wing politics without even trying to build a foundational political understanding is a great way to end up as a neo-nazi with a tumblr accent rather than an effective left-wing advocate.
Genuinely the easiest form of protest is boycotting and it’s more available than ever it’s never been easier to pirate or shoplift or just buy a fucking alternative youre not going to die if you don’t get your overpriced treats
i think a lot of the people who say that warning posts are useless drama-starters that only exist to further harass marginalized/vulnerable people would have more plausible deniability if those type of posts didnt spring up literally every single time a black user pointed out that a white user is racist
and also if the Black user didn't proceed to get racist harassment from the white users followers for pointing out said racism
Black tumblr user: this user is racist, here is proof, and i would prefer it if those who willingly interact with this person after knowing this to keep their distance from me
dashboard for the next 4 days: when you make a callout post for someone you have murdered them. it is the same thing. it is the exact same thing as taking a life. you have killed them forever and you have blood on your hands.
a small reminder with all the "trans womens blogs getting deleted is Literally social murder" going on that white trans women harassed and mass reported a Black trans womans blog that she used for fundraising to the point of termination all because the Black trans woman said she didn't rock with pedophiles and racists.
There’s a really good book all about this.

While the world is absorbed in matches and celebrations, mothers in Gaza are burying their children and receiving them in black body bags instead of holding them in their arms. If you cannot stop the war, please do not stop showing compassion.
Please donate to help my family of 14, who have lost loved ones and everything they owned because of the ongoing war. Every donation, no matter how small, helps us survive. Please also share our story—your support can make a real difference.

the zendaya thing isnt even a new phenomenon by any means!! the article mentions margot robbie wearing the taj mahal diamond as well, and in addition to that i also want to remind people that diljit dosanjh's request to wear the patiala necklace for the 2025 met gala was denied by cartier because they said it was in a museum and could not be loaned. however they had no issues at all loaning it to emma chamberlain, a white woman, for the 2022 met gala, while they turned down the request of a punjabi man who wanted it to honor his heritage.
this behavior is nothing new. the global south and everything in it - the people, the culture, our heritage - is seen as nothing more than a decoration or commodity to colonizers. i don't even need to bring up the koh i noor or the entire british museum; these examples are recent and egregious enough on their own.
of course this is not to imply that any of the people involved here - zendaya, margot robbie, or emma chamberlain - had any sort of malicious intentions. but the ignorance is just as bad in my opinion. the ignorance is just as harmful, if not more. because it means we are not even an afterthought. it means that the real people and histories and heritages of the global south do not even register when these people are putting together looks for their movie premiers and met gala appearances. everything is just reduced down to a shiny piece of jewelry whose history they need not bother with. it's just a continued reminder of the way colonization affects us all even long after independence, of how barely-healed wounds keep being reopened even decades later. even now, we are being denied connections to our histories and heritages while they are freely being given out to those that have nothing to do with it and don't care for it. and i'm sick of it.
