could i please have wsome self care suggestions for an autistic equius who lost their girlfriend to a car accident? it's harder than normal for me to take care of myself and i don't know what to do
aw honey im so so sorry for your loss. completely losing someone is very hard and scary. if you want to talk/vent im at @anepeta or just here i dont mind either.
but some things you can do to take care of yourself is
you can stim by petting a (horse?) plushie if you like that/have one
seriously soft stuff is great ill put together a post of stim items and one of soft stuff once i finish up a couple other urgent/old requests
if you can get/make slime thats often calming
flappy hands are happy hands
chew gum if youve got any it helps ground you and the stim of the flavor and constant chewing is a great stim to do in public if youre self conscious about stimming
soda is a really nice stim and if you cant deal with the full force of the carbonation mix it with juice or lemonade
uh check out my oceankin post for more stuff i put some of my favorite stims on there they might help you
pile on all the blankets and pillows you can find, for some pressure
if you have a cat or a dog let them sit on you (also give them a kiss from me i love all pets)
well if you dont mind your hair being a diffurent/weird texture dry shampoo is great for when you cant shower, as are baby wipes. (also the sound of the shampoo spraying is like my favorite sound efur) i recommend pssst (i think thats how many s’s it has) dry shampoo for the scent and texture and tresemme for the look if you dont touch your hair a lot
fruit smoothies are great unless youre hypersensitive to sound then dont make them because blenders are real hecking loud
tbh bananas are the best (if someone makes a joke out of this i will actually scream irl) but seriously i think they taste nice and they take no prep work except for peeling them and they give you a little boost of energy when you need it theyre my favorite fruit bc theyre not crunchy or sour and they all taste pretty much the same
frozen dinners are great for when you need substantial food
sleep as much as you are allowed to. grief takes a real physical toll on you and sleep helps more than anything. but eventually you need to regulate your sleep cycle because if youre anything like me being awake at night can be bad
wash your face sometimes. it refreshes you. just make sure its your favorite tempurrature bc otherwise it wont help as much. using the bath faucet lets you get that easier than waiting furever for the faucet to get above what f33ls like -20 degrees F.
get nice smelling shower tablets or bath bombs or bath salts or candles to motivate you to take a bath or shower (if you can of course, i understand if you cant)
water water water drink your water (or milk if you still like milk)
honestly treat yourself to something you like if thats watching netflix or going to your local trampoline place or really anything that makes/made you happy!
ill try to add more later but take care sweetie!
