folks, it’s okay to love your pets, just don’t…love your pets.
What the heck is going on at the dog park?
this just reinforces my need to find somewhere nearby to wait for everyone else to finish.
Out in the woods, just blowing shit up.
The blaster examiner in each region maintains a list of qualified hazard tree blasters. Many forests have a lead blaster who may be able to provide the names of local blasters who are qualified hazard tree blasters. In 2008, the U.S. Forest Service had between 225 and 250 certified blasters across the country, many of whom are qualified hazard tree blasters.
Explosives used to remove hazard trees are readily available from nationwide distributors and usually can be delivered within a day. During fire season, distributors often build up supplies and may have fireline explosives ready for immediate delivery. Many forests maintain a cache of explosives that can be shared as needed.
In Wyoming, the US Forest Service routinely blows up carcasses of fallen horses (after removing horseshoes to minimize the hazard from flying metal debris ) to prevent gatherings of ravenous grizzly bear. But don’t worry, right now the U.S. Forest Service says the fire danger is too extreme to explode any dead backcountry horses.
And the Northern Region Blaster Examiner will have to wait for rainy season for work to pick up again.
Earth will get a second moon (2024 PT5)
for two months when a small asteroid will begin to orbit our planet. This mini-moon will begin revolving around Earth from Sept. 29 to Nov. 25. The mini-moon is approximately only 10 meters wide and will follow a “horseshoe path” instead of completing a full revolution, so it will be very difficult to see the asteroid from Earth.
The Kobolds were a species of gnomes, who haunted the dark and solitary places, and were often seen in the mines, where they seemed to imitate the labours of the miners, and sometimes took pleasure in frustrating their objects and rendering their toil unfruitful. Sometimes they were malignant, especially if neglected or insulted; but sometimes also they were indulgent to individuals whom they took under their protection. When a miner, therefore, hit upon a rich vein of ore, the inference commonly was, not that he possessed more skill, industry, or even luck, than his fellow-workmen, but that the spirits of the mine had directed him to the treasure.
All the book banning has really toughened up librarians.
Pulp-inspired library stories.
