You woke up to a familiar swish, bright green light shining in your eyes. You put your hand up trying to block as much of the light as you could. You sit up suddenly being yanked out of the bed and thrown into the dirty spaceship that reaked of sex and alcohol. Still in your pajamas you look over at the old blue haired man tiredly as the ship drives off to god knows where.

"What the fuck Rick? You could've at least let me get dressed! You didn't have to drag me out of bed at..." You look at your phone, the brightness hurting your eyes. "3am?!" You turn over to your lover. "What's so important that you had to throw me out of bed in such a hurry, why not Morty?" Rick didn't respond, eyes glued in front of him. You sigh. You didn't mind, you loved going on adventures with your boyfriend. But he wanted to know what was so important to warant the rush.

You hear him take a drink of his flask as you slowly drift off to sleep. Still a bit exhausted from your last 3am adventure with Rick. You went to a concert on some alien planet, you guys had gotten high and wasted & had fuck in a porta potty & the back of his spaceship after.

You woke from the ship suddenly jolting as it comes to a stop, landing on an unfamiliar planet. Your door opens and Rick grabs you by the arm, dragging you out. Holding you close to his side. The planet did have much besides some restaurant/entertainment type place. Rick grabs your hand and drags you inside, taking you to a booth at the back of the restaurant. He was taking on on a date? At 3am? Why? You guys finished whatever alien dish you guys have had.

You walk towards the ship only to be pulled in the other direction. He had stayed silent all night and you had no idea what was going on. He took you through what looked like a forest of purple and blue trees, out to and open, empty field. You and him sat in the middle of it on a rock. You look at him as he takes a drink of his flask. "What are we doing, Rick?" You asked only for him to hum, annoyed. "You'll see, stop asking already." It was the first thing he had said to you all night.

Had you done something wrong...?

You see a pinkish-purple light shine from in front of you. You look up to see a wave of almost a galaxy like substance. It was bright shining colours of blue, pink, purple, and reds. It lit up the whole planet. Rick snacks and arm around your shoulder hesitantly placing a kiss on your cheek. You giggle, turning to face him and placing a kiss on his lips, his breath reaking of vodka and whatever alien food tou had had earlier.

Rick wasn't good at romance but he'd try his best to show his love through all his adventures, nick nacks, and gadgets.

"They only have this once every 7 years." You hear Rick mumble. You smile, looking at the galaxy like wave pass by. You and Rick hadn't said a single work the rest of the night. Just comfortable silence. You rest your head against his.

It had lasted at least 5 hours now. You guys had flew home, falling asleep on the way back. He carries you back into your room, resting you in your bed as he takes the spot next to you. Wrapping his arms around your waist, burrying his head in your chest as he drifts off to sleep. You swear you could hear him mumble a quiet "I love you." You fall asleep with a smile on your face.

Doesn't usually get jealous & has way too much pride to admit it, but you've notice men who flirt with you or men you use to talk to suddenly disappear mysteriously.

Will immediately send the pervert or creep hitting on you to the Razor dimension without hesitation.

Will come into your room drunk one night crying about how he's scared of you either dying or leaving him for someone better.

Won't admit it but he doesn't think he's good enough for you.

He loves taking you on adventures with him and Morty, he always takes you too cool alien restaurants and stores.

You once almost died on an adventure and this man has been high alert ever since, this man's soul nearly left his body seeing you injured.

He always makes you any cool gadget you ask for (like he did child beth), and even takes you to other dimensions to try the more dangerous/risky stuff out.

A huge softie in private. He loves when you play with his hair. He'll occasionally lay his head on your lap when no one's home. He also loves having you on his lap. He 100% will pamper you with kisses.

He can't sleep at night without cuddling you. Once when you were on vacation he flew all the way to you just to cuddle, telling you how he hasn't slept since you left.

He loves seeing you wear his white jacket or blue shirt. He thinks it looks cute on you.

Probably prefers missionary or having you on his lap facing him. He loves the intimacy. He enjoys seekng your beautiful face and being able to look into your eyes or kiss you.

Warnings: Death, angst

Fyodor believes abilities are sin, even his own. As much as he wishes to rid the world of such sin, he can't help but pique interest in your ability. A single touch and you could make anyone live their worst fears. Oh how many people he could torture with your ability (with your consent of course).

"Myshka." He calls your name. You walk over to his desk. "Yes, Fedya?". He pauses, looking at your gloved hands. He takes them in his own. "Take off your gloves, darling." You look at him confused, pulling your hands away harshly.

"T-take them off? Why?! You know my ability works through touch..." You pout, you don't have the heart to use it on him. Sure, it's nothing deadly, but you couldn't force the love of your life to live his biggest fear, whatever it was. Fyodor seemed like a fearless man, but you didn't want to take that risk.

"I want to see how it works, Myshka." He takes your hands in his again. Slowly pulling off that glove. "It'll be fine dear, I promise. What's the worst that could happen?" He smiles at you slyly, take your bare hand in his.

Nothing happens.

"Hm." His hold on your hands linger a while longer as he waits for it's effects; they never come. You yank your hand away, placing the glove back on your hand.

The day goes about normally, nothing changed. No nightmares, no fears. Does your ability not work on him? Was he truly fearless? He didn't understand, but he waited, for nothing to arrive as he had expected.

You and Fyodor had another mission.

You hadn't been by his side, as he finishes up his mission he looks around for you. You're no where to be found. "Myshka? Darling?"

He hears a faint, weak cough.

He follows the sound, curious. His eyes widen as he finds your body on the ground, shaking and bleeding. He runs to you, taking your cold, weak body in his arms. He pushes your hair to the side. Blood pouring from the gash in your chest/stomach as you're body turns pale. "Myshka...?" His voice shook, almost like he was on the verge of tears.

"Fedya...". You smile weakly at him, placing a bloody hand on his cheek. Your body falling limp in his arms. He can't do anything but stare at your lifeless body. How could this happen, how could they take his darling away.

Fyodor was a fearless man, but this truly was his worst nightmare. He rests his head against yours, tears threaten to fall down his emotionless face.

"Fedya." He could still hear your voice, almost like you were genuinely there.

"Fedya!"

He snaps back to reality as he feels you pulls your hands away. It wasn't real. You guys haven't even left his office. He stares at you blankly. "Fedya?" You wave your hand in front of his face. Shocked as he takes you in his arm, his grip on you tightly. What had he seen? You wondered. What could possibly scare him?

"Myshka..." He pulls back, pulling you into a kiss. The thought of losing his darling makes his blood run cold, but his ego could never let him admit that to you. Maybe you'll never know what he say, but whatever it was, he had treated every day with you like it'd be his last.

Prologue

[Rick Sanchez x GN! Reader]

A/N: I'm sorry if nothing in this is consistent with "did the dopamine wear off?" story. I honestly couldn't figure out whether I wanted it to be an actual sneak peak or a rough concept so I just went with what was best for this story.

"Where are you going?" Diane asked you, pressing her hand to your back gently. It had been only a few days since Rick and Diane's marriage and it had torn you apart. You didn't know why, but you had no interest in sticking around to find out. "Anywhere but here." You shook her hand off your shoulder. "Well, I'll see you again soon, right?" Richard asked, a bit of hesitation in his question. "I sure fucking hope not." You snear, with a click of the little white watch on your wrist, you were gone. Hopefully for good this time. Yet you couldn't hold back the tears. They were your best friends, but after their wedding you had nothing but a burning, yet cold, sensation in your chest with the mere thought of them. Why...? Shouldn't I be happy? It didn't matter. You were done. You had better things to do.

"I love you." You cried. Shaky breathes escape your lips, you covered your eyes with your arms. You hate those words more than anything, but all you wanted to do was tell Rick. He was gone, he wasn't yours. The cold burning sensation in your chest came back, the pain it brought was unbearable. He was happier without you anyway...

The sound of space debris hitting your vehicle snapped you out of your thoughts. You scoffed. Landing your vehicle. Birding man. You thought there'd be no harm in attending the festival, maybe it'd even be fun. Everyone was dancing or getting high, you stood away from everyone for at least half an hour before you decided to walk around out of boredom. You weren't a buzz kill, you swear. You just had no social ques. You accidentally bumped into a blue haired man amidst your mindless wandering. He wore a black leather vest over a blue turtleneck. His dark eyebags assuring you there had been many sleepless nights. "Sorry." He mumbled shuffling away from him. He waved it off. You couldn't figure out why but the man had looked so...familiar. It infuriated you that you didn't know why. You couldn't for the life of you figure out why you felt as though you met him before.

"I have been informed you are freely distributing a grossly illegal federation hallucination." The sound of one of the bird people's voice snapped you out of your thoughts. "Well I wouldn't know what to charge, I sure didn't pay for it." The blue hairded man paused. "W-wanna hit?" He offered the bird person the tube of whatever substance he had on his person. "I am indeed down to clown."

"My name's Rick."

Rick. That name...

"My culture regards naming as a form of cage, my friends call me bird person." The bird man responded. Taking another hit. "Culture really fucked you over on that one, huh?" Rick responded.

"Affirmative."

Rick turned to you, offering you the tube they'd been smoking out off. "W-what about you? Want a hit?" You took a moment to think about it. Shrugging it off you took a hit from it, blowing out a hot pink ring of smoke. "Got a name?" You stared at him, for whatever reason the question annoyed you. "Yha. (Y/n)." You scoffed. He hummed. Almost as if you two had been thinking the same thing.

Have you met before?

You stuck around for a bit, spending the rest of the festival to have fun with Rick and bird person. Amidst the joy between you three you snuck off, making your way back to your vehicle. The familiar dead panned voice stops you in your tracks. "Where are you going?" You shot him a glare. You were irritated but you didn't understand why. "Where do you think, genius. Home. Clearly." You remarked.

"W-well, I'll see-I'll see you again soon, right?"

Your eyes widen.

"Well, I'll see you again soon, right?"

It couldn't be him. It was just a coincidence, right? "I sure fucking hope not." You snear, gettin in your vehicle and driving/flying off. Rick was in disbelief of the all too familiar coldness. Almost refusing to let himself remember. But sadly he couldn't repress the memories. Of you, of him. Of what you guys had...

You unlock the door to your house, slamming it shut. You make your way down to your basement. Turning on the lights, large human sized glass tubes lined the wall all filled alternate bodies, clones and various other creatures. Several gadgets spread about the walls and some on shelves. Your desk a mess with papers and tools, empty bottles and cans littering the floor beneath. You open the mini fridge beneath your desk, taking out the single bottle of vodka you had left. "Fuck. I'm out." You groaned laying your head in yours arms. You didn't want to remember. Yet at the same time you wish you could. Your memories feel so misty, bits and pieces missing. But it's enough to bring back the cold burning feeling in your chest. Why did you feel this way? It didn't matter. You wouldn't be seeing rick again. You didn't need people intruding in your solidute.

You took your watch off your hand, placing it on the table. One of your greatest accomplishments. You admired it. Back when you and Richard had been friends, he had always talked about portal science. Inter dimension travel. He never shut up about it. But shortly gave it up for Diane and his daughter. You could almost say Diane ruined your friendship. Or maybe you were just in denial of your jealous. This accomplishment meant nothing if you didn't accomplish it with him. That was the whole point of this stupid portal shit anyways. To spend our lives travelling the infinite cosmos. As...friends. Just...just friends.

You scoff, a tear streaming down your face. Fuck that guy. You despised him. He meant absolutely nothing. All the time in the world and you still had no time for him. Nor did you want any. You down the bottle of vodka, nothing else could fill that void in your chest but the bitter sweet taste of vodka. You put it back down, the bottle falling over and shattering in the floor. You sigh. Your head falling back down into your arms. Your burning red eyes became heavy. You were so tired.

You sworn you could hear a familar swish as you let yourself drift off to sleep.

A/N: this is just a sneak peak and/or rough draft to a series I'll be writing. It's nothing good, just what's off the top of my head. This just sorta focuses more solely on reader and their feelings rather than actual rick and reader action, sorry. Idk what to do with this lol.

"Did the dopamine wear off yet?"

Rick simply groans in response. As if even processing the question was a daunting task. Neither of you were the type for love. He seen it as a pathetic concept of human emotion. You both knew it wasn't real. Yet both of you felt something with each other that neither have felt with anyone before. Something that not even the two smartest people in the universe could explain.

You heard the swishing of Rick's portal gun and next thing you knew; he was gone. You sigh. Standing in the middle of his garage, looking out the opened door into the quiet night.

You didn't care. Why would you? It doesn't matter if he loves you or not. You had better things to do than worry about what that asshole thought of you. You're practically a god, his presence in your life has no benefit. He wasn't anything special.

It didn't matter what you two felt for each other. In the end, this love was simply nothing but a dopamine high. It wasn't real. You were smart enough to know the truth. No matter how much you wanted your relationship with rick to mean something, it most likely never will.

You weren't the type to love, at all. You never loved anyone. Aside from maybe a small exception to them. But they were gone, so it doesn't matter. Despite being a human, or an empty shell of what use to be human, you had no interest nor tolerance for human emotions. You've dated people before, but it was all pure lust. Love was out of the question for anyone.

You were the smartest person in the universe, maybe even more than rick by a few standards. And yet, you can't explain these feelings you have. You couldn't understand why rick, of all people, made you question yourself. Why him? Why is it only him? What's so special about this self-obsessed, god complexed alcholic scientist?

Ever since they died, you've lived your life in solitude since you were 25. Yet no matter how much you wanted to be alone you couldn't ever really get rid of rick. And you despised it. You despised him. Everything you ever did was to spite him. You hated this man with all your heart, but despite his genius; he sure couldn't take a fucking hint.

At first it was nothing. You met him during a birding man festival. You had only stopped by to see what was going on. After all you weren't completely void on the concept of fun and happiness back then. He had offered you a smoke of some illegal drug he had on his person alongside one of the bird people, to which you of course accept. But Rick had taken an interest to you and it infuriated you. He wouldn't leave you alone. The festival had been fun and all but you had no intention to have anyone in your life. Then suddenly everywhere you went he was there. You couldn't get rid of him no matter how hard you tried.

You never considered him a friend. But in the end he was all you truly ever had.

You wouldn't call what you and Rick have now a relationship. There was intimacy, but you knew you didn't have what it took to love. But you never could truly understand your feelings for him. This feeling, that only he could make you feel, was so surreal. You could even say it scared you. Why couldn't you explain it? It didn't make sense.

Even if it were love, rick surely no longer felt it. He use to be so attached to you. He'd hold you tight as if he'd lose you the second he let go. He was cynical, narcissistic. Yet he valued you over anything. He wasn't one for emotions, but he didn't need to admit anything for you to know. It didn't take a genius to realize that whatever it was we felt, was more real than ever.

But it all changed. He did everything to avoid you. He treated your questions as if they were too much of a daunting task to answer. He pushed off everything you've tried to talk to him about. Everything you have to say is met with an eye roll and a huff. As if every word that came out of your mouth was pure nonsense. He treated you like you were some futile idiot whom he pitied. He treated you like you were nothing. After everything you've been through together.

And it made you wonder...
