“man” and “woman” are not equal-and-opposite categories in the way that so so much discourse around gender nonconformity and trans shit assume. A trans man’s trajectory of experiences, for instance, is not simply the inverse of a trans woman’s. This comes up most clearly in the line of logic that goes like “if a trans man was affected by misogyny and treated as a girl before he came out, then a trans woman must have been bolstered by male privilege and treated as a boy before she came out,” which is just an inaccurate way of conceptualizing gender and the way that subjects find themselves gendered because it is premised on a symmetrical system.
