Adam stopped walking when he realized she was walking with him. “I am,” he answered honestly. “My day is ruined.” He couldn’t tell if he was leaning into sarcasm or not.
eyebrows furrow as a short laugh escapes, steps falling to a halt as his did before nell was shaking her head. “well, if it really means that much to you, i’ll just buy you one from the cupcake shop across town. most of their stuff sucks, but i know a few hidden gems here and there.”
“i was going to ask how many parties you’ve been to and how many doors you’ve opened only to be met by they didn’t seem too busy before it escalated.” he took a deep breath. “but never mind.” caylen raised his bottle of ciroc vodka at her question of if he had any suggestions. “tonight i’m boring. beer pong before i crash in some random occupied room.”
“oh, god. i’m usually down at the parties, not running from them.” she was a kappa, after all. no, they weren’t as party-oriented as one of the other sororities, but they liked to have their fun. “doesn’t sound boring to me. sounds like you’ll be having a great time before you knock out. just don’t die.”
xavier had to take a break from the party when some girl dropped her drink on his shirt. the homebody had already trouble getting here and the most annoying kind of drunks seem to be here tonight. he patted down the liquid as much as he could, being left just with the giant stain. he was scrolling through his phone, timing how long he think he would have before some of his friends tried to find him. he smiled and gestured for her to enter. “i didn’t know you were here too.” there was so many people it wasn’t a surprised he missed her. “what are you hiding from?”
“drunks.” it’s a simple answer, but probably one that seemed a bit ridiculous, especially since they were at a college party. being sober wasn’t exactly the most popular thing at the moment. setting her own cup aside, her gaze wandered towards the stain before she tilted her head in slight curiosity. “did you just get that?” one hand gestures towards his shirt, eyebrow lifting as a light laugh fell from her lips. “did a pretty bad job at cleaning it up, y’know.”
caylen was simply making his way through the hallway a few steps behind her, not really curious about what she was on a mission to do, not even aware she was actually there until having to stop when almost bumping into her after opening the door and he stood there. lifting a brow in return at those in the room. “they look busy enough without a third party.” caylen replied in a low tone more so due to alcohol consumption and reached over to close the door again. “plenty rooms, bet you can find a free one somewhere. not entirely impossible.”
at first, nell paid no mind to the guy behind her. it’s when he actually opens his mouth that her attention shifts towards him, eyebrows knitting together in slight annoyance at just how quick he’d been to insert himself into the situation. she turned to face him once the door was shut, arms lifting to cross while a scoff fell from the blonde’s lips. “well, do you have any suggestions off the top of your head? they didn’t seem too busy.”
“trust me I’m tempted, but i have a perfect attendance record.”
“well, do you have class right now?”
“You’re literally going to eat it in front of me? Nice.” He walked past her, heading for the exit. He knew he was being dramatic, but all he had really wanted from his day was that cupcake.
“oh, come on!” eyes roll, but that doesn’t stop nell from trailing after him, eventually matching his pace easily. “you’re not seriously letting a cupcake ruin your day, are you?”
when she’d agreed to come out tonight it was with the intention of getting really high with her friends, maybe having a drink and dancing with her friends but quickly it turned into her babysitting sloppy drunk girls who wandered off with sloppy drunk guys to do whatever they did. so she found herself hauled up in a room texting her cousins and smoking a blunt, looking up when she heard the door open at first to tell them to fuck off but seeing the familiar face she smiled and nodded. “ come, join my pity party. ”
no, she hadn’t really been paying attention when she walked in. that’s why relief rushes over previously annoyed features at the sound of the other’s voice. “oh, thank god.” at least it wasn’t someone completely random. this was dionne, and nell deemed her at least tolerable. “any reason you came to escape, too?” the blonde hopped onto the bed beside her, eyebrows lifting a bit in slight curiosity. “i was afraid i’d be stuck with some random drunk guy or something, so it’s good to see you.”

“young love is such dumb love.” she gives the other a twirl before taking a seat. yes, nell’s drunk and still hanging onto her past, but the cup of vodka before her is keeping her sane for the time being. “want some?”
“That sounds amazing but unfortunately I don’t have the time.”
"oh, come on. not even fifteen minutes?”
When she looked at him, he lifted his eyebrows as if to say ‘what the fuck do you want?’ “Yeah? Let me see cupcake and I’ll totally show you my name.” Despite his tone being clearly sarcastic, he held out his hand for the pastry.
“i don’t think so. sorry.” blonde locks are brushed behind her shoulder as nell lifts the cupcake to her lips. the direct eye contact she makes with him could be threatening, nothing playful about the grin that forms at her lips as she takes a bit of it. “better luck next time.” the words follow once she swallows, one shoulder lifting in a shrug.
“ yeah, ” the girl says with a sigh, looking up from her phone. she’d needed a few minutes away from the hustle and bustle of a college party. “ as long as no one’s planning on meeting you in here to get frisky. i really don’t wanna watch that. ”
“believe me when i say there are about a thousand other people i’d rather get frisky with than anyone attending this party.” eyebrows lift, but only for a split second as relief floods her features. the blonde makes herself comfortable, taking a seat on the bed and laying back to stare at the ceiling. “what are you doin’ up here?”

He rarely ever left a party, so sitting on the bed with a cup of vodka in his hand and slowly sipping it was a new experience for him. Milo just wanted silence, and he had it for a moment before being interrupted by the blonde. “There’s room for several more,” he nodded to himself, looking around the room before back at her. “Bored of the party already?” Milo questioned, trying to keep the conversation going.
"well, watching people down natty lights and dance like complete idiots can only be entertaining for so long.” always a fan of making herself comfortable, the blonde just moved to take a seat on the bed about a foot off from him. “what are you doin’ up here all alone?” eyes shift towards the cup only momentarily before she’s letting out a short laugh. “well, not completely alone, i guess.”
