Honestly though, there is literally nothing more discouraging than presenting your art (in ANY form, graphic or fiction) and putting yourself out there, only to be largely ignored. Or at the very least, to FEEL like you’ve been looked over, because you’re getting little feedback - if any at all.

Authors and artists put a lot of time and effort into their work, and often times it’s a pretty thankless endeavor. OF COURSE we write and draw because we love to, but we also thrive on encouragement and positive constructive criticism. Art is meant to be shared, but when it feels like you’re sharing with no one but yourself, it eventually leads to thoughts of, “what’s the point?” People stop sharing, readers and viewers get confused (or god forbid, a sense of entitlement) and then everyone loses.

So yeah, comments and reviews are nice.
