lately been heavily keeping into reading, learning and researching about outlines and strategies of plotting my works I know I write fanfics and thus absolved of following published books' structure but baby~ we are free to do what we want writing fanfics, but my hollow soul craves structure I have been writing for a more than a decade and I have only one properly finished published work (sitting at barely 24k words), rest is abandoned or wips at best, good stories that I run out of juices to write because I start stories, but I never think what actually happens in the middle to get me to the ending I envision

so, focusing on even basic text structure and writing up first a skeleton - a bare bones description of what to happen in the text, devoid of big descriptions. if skeleton by itself does not make sense or is not interesting, there is no point to give it muscle and skin, it won't be enjoyable anyway.

forcing myself to write every idea pushes me to think more and create more interesting headcanons and ideas, for the past month I have written more than for the past 5 years I'm sure and I hope to get you a couple of midi works before the end of the year

lately seen a lot of discourse surrounding sensitivity and calls for censorship among the new fanfiction readers

though we should look at the whole post-covid wave of new fans pouring into the fandom spaces as the whole, i ll talk specifically about ao3 fanfiction reading and how this new wave of people just fail to understand the veterans

we all understand that people that bring up the fuss are those we would call "normies" in 2010s, people that just entered the fandom spaces of boredom or need for community in the trying times of covid pandemic. they come to our "house", ignore the customs and unwritten rules that we collectively call "fandom etiquette" and then are surprised when they get a pushback from the community they want to be a part on.

though i can understand that some aspects of community etiquette can be confusing because they were not here when those rules established. they know nothing of purges, site policy changes and the media presidents (as well as some legal ones) that the community as a whole needed to adjust and accept to not be swiped by rules away. we worked hard to find loopholes and keep community as a whole safe full knowing that one or two "fools" can bring the doom on all of us.

BUT we do appreciate newcomers that stay judge-free and are willing to learn about fandom history and the rules of the land. bringing enjoyment to others is the part of our own enjoyment after all.

and GOD DAMN IT "don't like, don't read" is like the staple of it. calls for cencorship over works you don't deam to be allowed is a total bullshit. i swear we didn't had this problem in the past though people that called to be more moral always existed. MEDIA LITERACY IS DEAD and we killed it
