         setsuna’s  demon  form .

as  a  hanyō  (  half  demon  )  ,  setsuna  can  transform  into  a  demon .  

like  her  human  nights  ,  this  transformation  brings  out  changes  in  her  appearance   –––  her  fangs  &  her  demon  marks  in  face  &  arms .  her  voice  also  adapts  a  deeper  tone .  however  ,  unlike  when  she  transforms  into  a  human  (  which  only  occurs  on  new  moon  nights  )  this  transformation  comes  out  as  a  defensive  mechanism .  in  times  of  great  fear  or  when  their  life  is  in  danger  ,  a  hanyō  can  be  overwhelmed  by  their  demonic  blood   becoming  a  pure-blooded  demon .  although  in  this  form  she  can  benefit  from  increased  demonic  powers  ,  a  hanyo’s  self  control  in  this  form  can  only  last  as  much  until  they  can  no  longer  distinguish  friend  &  foe  from  each  other  ,  &  attacks  everything  &  everyone .

because  setsuna  inherited  sesshomaru’s  venomous  blood  ,  the  transformation  has  been  described  by  her  as  uncontrollable  &  painful  (  making  her  lose  control  easily  )   thus  why  when  she  was  younger  ,  monk  miroku  used  her  naginata  (  at  the  time  ,  kanemitsu  no  tomoe  )  to  seal  her  blood  &  keep  her  from  transforming  into  a  pure blood  demon .
