Almost six weeks has passed...

...since you were taken from us, and it's not yet got any easier. Nothing could have prepared me for seeing your tiny tiny coffin at the cremation service, it was too small to process. I try to be so happy seeing all the photos of newborns that fill up my social media but I'm not. I hide how much it hurts, but all I can think about is how unfair it is. Unwanted babies are born every day and thrown into the care system, yet you were so desperately wanted and got called back before we'd even had a chance to meet you. I don't think it'll ever not hurt. I don't think I'll ever stop being mad about it. I just hope that the acceptance and healing starts soon because I can't take much more of feeling like this.

I don't normally like to get sentimental and stuff, but I'd just like to take this moment to thank every single person I've met over the last 4 years for making Staffs what it was. Whether I've loved you, liked you, tolerated you, or hated you (in secret probably 😏). Whether we talk every day, once a week, once a year, or not at all. Whether we are/were best friends or simply brushed shoulders a few times. Thank you. This has been the best 4 years of my life and it was definitely the people that made it. Just over 3 weeks ago I felt you kicking for the first time. It was so strong and so real, I couldn't wait to see who you were going to be. 2 days ago I got the call. Your heart had just stopped. 3 weeks to go and our miracle bean was gone just like that. Nothing in the universe can prepare someone for a loss like this. You were so dearly loved and you hadn't even entered the world yet. You were part of our family and you hadn't been held by anyone other than Nats. But you were real and you were there and you were my first and most loved niece. My life will forever be better because you were in it, even only for a few short months and even though I never got to meet you. The mere thought of you brought so much joy and hope and gladness into my heart, and it's a feeling I'll never forget. And today you were born. 4lbs 14oz of pure perfection, just not awake. So sleep well little one with the knowledge that you made my world a better place. Auntie Soph will love you forever. 💕👼🏻💕

Had the best week with my football family!!
