2017 was the year of learning.

I opened my Etsy shop, which was huge for me, not only because of the investment that you had to make, but because it changed the whole concept of being an artist for me, it means to be envolved in every single step from creation to delivery, which takes all your effort and time and pushes you sometimes to your limit.

Also for the first time I participated on different events selling my art; it was a wonderful experience for me because I am not an extroverted person so I had to really push myself out there; this gave me the opportunity to share and chat with people, to learn what works and what not, to practice my patience and to be humble.

For the new year I hope that I can continue growing as an artist and as a person and always to keep learning more and more.

Thank you all for your support, I wish 2018 brings us all lots of love, health and prosperity!

The fourth painting in my 1989 Collection is number 10 on the album: How You Get the Girl

The imagery in this piece has personal significance for me, but I’m confident the message is universal. This song and this painting is about the gestures of courtship. It’s about the way you feel when you feel like you would do anything to prove your magnetism and devotion. How you get the girl: you go and get the moon and stars, all the constellations, the infinite blue night, and you bring them to her. The night is as blue as you have been without her, and her face is the moon. When the moon is gone, the night is a terrifying abyss. But when the moon waxes, the night seems to smile again.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Charles Rennie Mackintosh!

My favorite designer and architect ever! This man inspired me to start my Watercolor Paintings of Famous Chairs & Industrial Design Icons

He was a genius from Glasgow. He was the main representative of Art Nouveau in the United Kingdom. He had considerable influence on European design. For over 20 years Mackintosh worked almost exclusively in Glasgow where all his best-known work was created and where much of it still remains, yet he left Glasgow in search of greater success and died in London in relative obscurity. It is perhaps ironic that he was given little recognition by his native city at the time, for by the end of the 20th century he was being recognised as the father of 'Glasgow Style' and one of the driving forces behind a new approach to modern architecture.

Henry van de Velde

He was a Belgian painter, architect and interior designer who ranks as an originator of the Art Nouveau style, characterized by long sinuous lines derived from naturalistic forms.

He abandoned painting to design furniture and objects decoration objects (silver- and goldsmith’s trade, chinaware and cutlery, fashion design, carpet and fabric design).

Thanks to Henry van de Velde, Hector Guimard and Victor Horta Art Nouveau was created and they left us their beautiful designs, objects, furniture, and posters.

Twin Peaks

It amazes me so much how musicians work and how they have the capacity of creating pure magic. Here it's an example, when I was younger I loved to put on my tv Twin Peaks, I know it was a good Tv show but I didn't watch it, for some reason when it was on I was always doing something else like studying, however I always had it on just to hear the music. That music was stuck in me forever, I loved it! I still love the music of Twin Peaks and today I found this amazing video of the composer of those beautiful themes Angelo Badalamenti, where he explains how he wrote the Twin Peaks Love Theme on an old Fender Rhodes sitting alongside David Lynch.

Happy Birthday Gustav Stickley 1858 – 1942

He was a designer, furniture maker, editor and the leading proselytizer for the American Craftsman style, an extension of the British Arts and Crafts Movement.

His furniture can be quite expensive these days, so pay close attention to that old cabinet your grandma has, you never know if a “treasure” is closer than you think.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Hector Guimard

Lyon, March 10, 1867 – New York, May 20, 1942

I have been in love with the work of this man for a long time and I didn't know him!

I didn't know who was the brilliant mind behind those beautiful buildings, furniture and objects. Hector Guimard was the best-known representative of the French Art Nouveau style of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

Guimard was as much a designer and engineer as he was an architect, and involved himself in every aspect of his buildings.

Its critical reputation has risen since the 1960s, as many art historians have praised his architectural and decorative work, the best of it done during a relatively brief fifteen years of prolific creative activity.

Guimard, famous for designing the entrances to the Paris metro, did many more projects; he incorporated the principles of the Art Nouveau style in his works, always having shapes of plants, flowers, flowing lines and aggressive curves.

It is a shame that a large number of his buildings have been demolished, many of which he watched vanish. He left an obscure legacy marked by a disappearance of much of his work.

He made so many things that I wouldn't have enough space to place them here and to chose them was a real pain, because I wanted all of them...

Rene Herbst Paris 1891 - Paris 1982

He designed the revolutionary and functional "Chaise Sandows" seat furniture. The frames were nickel-plated tubular steel, the seat and back was made of rubber strips stretched taut and fastened to the frame by hooks at the end.

Tomorrow is Dr. Seuss's birthday and to celebrate we are nothing but Dr. Seuss.

I found so many biographies, blogs, post and articles about this exceptional author, so what else can I say about he that is not already said…not so much; because of that I decided to choose some Dr. Seuss facts, quotes and images of course lots of images!

• Dr Seuss was born in March 2, 1904 in Springfield. He published over 60 children's books. As one of the most popular children's authors of all time, his books have topped many bestseller lists, sold over 222 million copies, and been translated into more than 15 languages.

• "Green Eggs and Ham" uses only 50 words as a result of a bet between Seuss and his editor.

• The word "nerd" was first recorded in his book "If I Ran the Zoo" in 1950

• Yertle the Turtle was based on Hitler, but this is not the big controversy. What was disputed was the burp a turtle lets out at the end. No one had ever let a burp loose in a children’s book before.

• "Horton Hears a Who" was not about religion or God, it was about Japan. A strong critic about how America treated Japan after WWII.
