I generally prefer to keep my main blog (@soullessserenity) hidden from the main tags. But sometimes there is something I wanna post that I DO want to show up in the main tags. But then it's annoying how everything I posted beforehand that was tagged for organisational purposes shows up as well...

So this sideblog is just to avoid that annoyance. Anything here will also get reblogged to my main so it's your choice if you wanna follow both blogs or just one.

Reveals Delay for Umatani Gifting Fest: 2 gifts needed

Reveals for Umatani Gifting Fest have been delayed by another week, this time the target reveals date is June 15th.

For those unfamiliar with the event rules: The people who signed up were guaranteed a minimum of 2 gifts, but we currently have two participants missing two gifts each. You do not need to be signed up to post a gift for someone in the event! You can find the links to their requests below:

Schedule and rules for this year's round of the Umatani Gifting Fest are up on Dreamwidth!

Sign-ups start on May 1st and end on May 7th. Gifts can start being posted from May 2nd onwards. Reveals are scheduled to happen on May 30th (might be delayed if not everyone has their minimum gifts by then).

I had procrastinated a lot on making this, but here's the current Boueibu events calendar for this year. (Definitely subject to change depending on what else comes up!)

It looks a little barren due to me removing the jokey "Love Macho release prayer circle" I had on every month on last year's calendar. (Plus me not being sure how much free time I'll have this year to do other event ideas I've had.)

But also! If you are thinking of organizing an event yourself, feel free to contact me to add it to this post! Part of the reason why I had made the calendar last year was exactly to make it easier to organize new stuff without too much overlap!

Man how is it that I KEEP seeing new people pop up in Boueibu posts, only to find that either they have 'proship dni' on their bio or they have posts that show they're very clearly anti-ship...

Anyways periodic reminder that the Boueibu fandom, or at least the fandom here on Tumblr and on most of AO3, is EXTREMELY proship/'ship and let ship'. We're all civil with each other regardless of what we do or don't ship - yes even if some of us ship incest or other """problematic""" ships.

You are free to be uncomfortable by or not like specific ships or fictional taboo topics, you are even free to block people over it! But don't be an ass about it and *for the love of god don't start implying that shipping a ship or liking something taboo in fiction makes someone a bad person*.

Friendly reminder that the Boueibu fandom IS mostly proship/ship and let ship/don't like don't read

This isn't even just on Tumblr. If you check the AO3 fandom tags for both Love and Happy Kiss, you'll see that a majority of recent works are from the same handful of people - me included.

I've been writing Furanui x Karurusu smut ever since 2021. I've singlehandedly gotten their ship tag to the top 10 ships by work number on the Happy Kiss AO3 tag. I literally drew ship art of them for the Zine.

And you know who, in Tumblr or AO3, has ever bothered me about it?

NOBODY.

Because it's literally THAT easy to just scroll past a completely fictional story or other piece of art that you don't like.

When someone on Tumblr tried to cancel another person for shipping an age gap ship in another fandom no one here took their side. Because it doesn't fucking matter. What you ship does not dictate your real life morals.

(And actually if you're an anti who likes Boueibu... Did you somehow miss ALL the Beppucest shipbait in season 2???)

Sincerely, the idiots who complained about the 'Out of Context Boueibu' Twitter account posting "the whole fandom is proship" are the ones actually in the minority who need a reality check to realize they are NOT the default for this fandom.

Hey, hey! The Umatani Gifting Fest event I've mentioned here and there is still a good while away with sign-ups starting only on April 28th, but I've set up the Dreamwidth community for it ahead of time and put up the event's info post!

I did heavily reference the info from fandomgiftbasket + fandomtrees and altered things as needed, but I'd still like to be sure that all that info is understandable. A little thing I did based on Boueibu fan-events me and Adri ( @koolkitty9 ) have discussed. Since we both wanted to organize different things this year, I thought an easier way to visualize everything would be helpful!

"Love Macho release prayer circle - Every day" was something I added as a little "haha" to every month because everyday I stare at the Love Macho twitter longingly lol. January is made fainter because when I started this it was already February. Event names written in black are ones that might still have their month moved around if needed.

I'll likely update this as the pending dates become more certain and if anyone else wishes to organize an event!

I am a day late to putting this up, but...

The 9th was officially the 1st anniversary of the 'boueibu_fanworks' Dreamwidth community I run, so I put up a special event for it! Since we already have Rarepair Week at the end of the month, this one is a pretty simple one centered around making simpler works.

Something that is probably gonna interest like 1.5 people at most, but...

For those who might still remember the Boueibu Fanworks Dreamwidth Community I run, I wanna point out I'm starting a new type of monthly post there! I already had the Monthly Rec Posts (which I constantly forgot to actually rec things in myself orz), but now I'm trying to also do these monthly posts where I point towards any Boueibu-specific events that are gonna take place in the following month, AND to any multi-fandom events/challenges where Boueibu stuff is accepted!

Due to it being pretty easy for me to find Dreamwidth events and challenges, and to the fanworks comm being specifically my way of trying to get more of an active Boueibu fandom on that specific site, the post is mainly pointing to Dreamwidth comms on the multi-fandom section. But I can certainly add non-DW events to these if people point me to them!

(So yeah this post is basically me going "if you're into Boueibu and are interested in doing more stuff in Dreamwidth, some of these places might be a good start". The Snowflake Challenge might also be a good starting point! I've definitely found a few cool people to follow through it when I did it in 2023 and 2024. I only didn't link it in that events post because it's more about making general fandom-related posts rather than creating fanworks.)
