I'm bad at office politics because if someone is behaving in a way that is obviously them just being stressed and overworked and needing someone to blame so they don't have to take responsibility for their mistakes, I won't take it personally nor apologize for anything—usually I'll just wait them to calm down and start feeling embarrassed about how they acted. Or maybe that's me being good at it, idk. Mostly I just don't give a shit about my job or advancing into a management position, i just want to get my tasks done on time, I always see myself as being there temporarily until I find something better. Which I think is an attitude that makes perfect sense but confuses my coworkers.
