tag organisation
the advantage of a new blog is that it's an opportunity to both simplify my tag system AND make it more consistent (loss of autofill tags really screwed me over on the old blog, i was relying on that). so:
resources, books, educational posts etc:
#resources - all links and recommendations to educational resources regardless of subject
#reading list - all book recs and lists regardless of subject, genre
#to read - tag for me to indicate that i want to read things (not necessarily a recommendation!)
#medlitres - book recs, links to resources etc for material relating to medieval literature, particularly medieval irish literature (deliberately abbreviated to remain specific to my blog rather than cluttering up existing tags)
#gaeres - recs and resources for material relating to irish (gaeilge)
if i want posts from medlitres and gaeres to show up for non-followers i will also use more generic tags like "gaeilge", "medieval" etc, this is purely for the sake of being able to search for them within my own blog
also general rule that when tagging for medieval irish texts or characters i don't use fadas, to aid in searching and tag consistency. blanket no-fada policy for all categorisation tags whether personal names or text names. might use fadas in non-organisational tags.
e.g. "culaeg", "laeg mac riangabra" etc as organisational tags, but "i love láeg in this scene" as a commentary tag might have a fada depending on whether i'm on mobile or not
personal tags:
#pearsanta - general personal posts
#scriofa - all posts relating to my fics inc. writing updates, links, contemplating future fics, whatever
#gpoy - relatable posts. yeah i'm that old
#cute tag and #cat tag do what they say on the tin. sorry these aren't linked I'm lazy. also #laugh tag.
if i do post politics, which i try and fail not to do, it's usually #polaitiocht, though sometimes #uk politics. i am almost never talking about non-uk politics. unless otherwise stated explicitly please assume that none of my posts are primarily about the US
tags relating to weasels are mental health/trauma related, i.e. referring to brainweasels
everything else should be pretty self explanatory i think, though many of my generic tags are in Irish (#ceist for asks, #teangacha for things to do with languages, #stair for history posting, #leabhair for books / my general livebitching about whatever I'm reading, etc). you'll figure it out 👍
