The Tale of the Cursed Kingdom: (Chapter 8)

Three weeks since your arrival at Merlin Academy, you seek out help from two class mates to help improve your swordfighting skills, then you are paired up with a certain pirate for a class project but not long after your first study session an incident in the library has you find to help with your studies

Two weeks later:

King Fergus stood in front of the class "Today, we're going tae try somethin' different. Using a regular item one of yae must attempt disarm your opponent who is welding a sword.

Watching as King Fergus paired students up, one grabbed the other item and attempted to disarm another item, watching as some students were successful and others were not.

King Fergus turned to the students, "our last pair... James Hook, you get the sword and Y/N you have tae try and disarm him with the regular item." James leaned over to morgie and whispered "good luck with that." Before he got up and walked into the boundary area.

You walked over to the table and saw a Chinese folding fan, a frying pan, rope and a "Magic" lamp, trying to imagine the best item to disarm James, you were still deciding when a voice spoke up.

"Hurry up firebird, we don't have all day." James called out. Rolling your eyes as your hand landed on the fan, you picked it up

"I'm coming" you called out as you stepped into the boundary "A fan? What are you going to do darling? Blow me away?"

Taking a breath as you ignored james and held the fan tighter, king fergus gave the signal to begin the duel. James lunged the practice sword at you, managed to dodge him.

With a flick of your wrist you opened the fan, you thought back to the scene in Mulan where she defeated Shan Yu. James lunged again and the practice sword went through the fan, you moved to the side then closed the fan, gripping it from both the top and bottom the pulled the fan, the sword slipped out of james grasp, the sword fling in the air before you caught the handle, the fan still on the sword.

James stood there in shock as King Fergus gave you a round of applause. "Well done Y/N." King Fergus boomed as James crossed his arms "Please you got lucky" he scoffed. King Fergus looked at james "No James, it was pure statergy amazing job." He turned back to the rest of the class "nae, i want ye to all pair up again with your partner. We will start off with sword fighting."

After the class you still were not happy with your swordfighting skills or lack of, so you walked up to Merida and Mulan who were talking.

"Merida, Mulan"

the two girls stopped and turned back to you "I was wondering if I could ask you both to train me. I want to improve my sword fighting skills."

Merida smiled "Aye, about time! I was wonderin' how long you were going to let keep James bestin' ye. I must admit that wee trick with the fan was brilliant. Ye took the smirk right off his face."

Mulan smiled "you used your opponent's arrogance and momentum against them, it just shows that a smaller force can always defeat a larger one if it's smarter."

Merida nodded "meet us after school tomorrow, we'll make a warrior out of ye yet." Mulan bowed her head "we would be honoured."

You breathed a sigh of relief "Thank you both very much. This means so much."

Later that day came professor song's class."Okay class, i am going to assign you all into pairs for this next project, you'll all be assigned a legendary kingdom." Professor song announced before she grabbed her paper and began to read off the list of students, you crossed your fingers hoping to be paired with a friend or any else except members of Uliana's crew, you listened as the names were read off one by one

"Bridget you're with Malachi, Morgie, you're with Merida and lastly, James Hook, you'll be paired up with Y/N"

Before you could react a voice spoke up from the back of the class "Excuse me professor song." You rolled you eyes, James. Professor Song looked up, unamused "yes James."

James leaned back in his chair "I don't see why I have to be paired with Y/N for this assignment. shes been here for three weeks and knows nothing about our realm."

You scoffed and turned back to face James, he sat there with a smirk on his face, Morgie just sighed. "That's the point of the project sweetheart, you learn about the topic." Came your reply, some of the students snickered and professor song hid a smile behind her notes.

"Besides" you began "does knowing that before the kingdom of DunBroch was formed, the clans McGuffin, Macintosh and Dingwall all fought against clan DunBroch until Vikings, Romans and northern invaders threatened them and eventually the four clans teamed up and afterwards clans leaders and lords of the clans crowned Fergus and Eleanor king and Queen, count for anything, at all?"

James' smirk faded, as you turned back to the front of the class satisfied. Professor song smiled "I see you've been reading up on our history. Thats good." She looked at her list and wrote something down "since the two of you insist on debating, your assignment is on the legend of Vespertine."

Just before class ended, Professor Song reminded everyone that, the project were due in two weeks. As you gathered your things James came up to you "meet me in the library after school, firebird." His gaze lingered on you "don't let me down, darling" he smirked at you before he followed Morgie out the classroom

Once after school you immediately headed to the library, you wanted to get this project over and done with. Scarowing the bookshelves for all the books that mentioned Vespertine, they were all scattered on the table open to various pages when james walked in 15 minutes later. "You're late." You replied not looking up from your notes as you continued to write

He pulled up a chair and sat across from you, "i had to make a dramatic entrance, darling." he flicked his hair out of his face as he put his feet up on the table, just missing the books.

"I see you've been busy, firebird." He replied as he grabbed a book and moved it "why stress Darling, you have two weeks to do this project." You rolled you eyes "Listen james, I actually want to get a good grade, and I'm not doing all the work while you just sit there looking pretty."

Once you realised what you said you stopped writing and looked at the page. Hoping that he didn't realise what you just said.

James smirked as he moved his feet off the table and you heard the thud of his boots hitting ground before he leaned forward "so, you think I'm pretty" Looking up as your eyes met, your cheeks flushed "that...that's not what i meant" you stammered

James eyes twinkled as he grinned before he leaned back "if you didn't mean it, why did you call me pretty then, firebird."

You put your pen down as you crossed your arms "Its an expression james, a figure of speech. You know, laugh and the world laughs with you. The world doesn't really laugh."

James chuckled "no it's because they're too busy confessing how they think I'm pretty." He looked around and made sure no one was around before coming closer "It's not your fault firebird." He whispered "the dark is a little more enticing."

You scoffed "you're so arrogant." As you leaned back, looking away from him.

James smiled, twirling the pen in his hand "it's all part of my charm." He winked at you before grabbing a book and opening it up "Anyway let's make a start, i don't exactly want a failing grade either."

James pulled out his book and pen the grabbed one of the books you had grabbed and began to take notes, occasionally fiddling with his hook. There was silence for a while before james spoke up "So, Firebird. I've been meaning to ask you. Do you have any pirates where you're from ?"

You thought for a moment before continuing "Yeah, we have pirates. They are quite common in movies, books and tv shows. Real pirates do still exist but they are quite different to the ones that were around in the 16th and 17th centuries. The ones around now mainly use high powered speed boats and modern weapons to commit piracy."

James stopped writing, he almost looked insulted "No, flags? No jolly Roger, no cutlass, where's the dramatic flare?" Not looking up as you continued "These days where I'm from, it's just for the money."

"Well i can do both." He twirled his hook as his gaze met yours "See Firebird, I'm clearly the most impressive Pirate captain that you've met."

A slight chuckle came from you as you glanced up at him "James, You're the only Pirate captain I've met."

James continued with his notes "Yes i suppose for your little world i would be very impressive."You flipped to the next page and begun reading as you hid a smirk.

"I think some people on earth would argue that Killian Jones is very impressive pirate."

James leaned back "Killian jones, what kind of name is that for a pirate?"

You hid a smile as you made notes from the page you were reading "he was a pirate on a TV show back home that i watched with my mum, it was called 'Once upon a Time' it's about a curse that brought storybook characters to the real world. Killian Jones, he was a fan favourite, devastating handsome."

James folded his arms "Well unlike this 'Killian Jones', I'm real darling" he twirled the pen in his hand as he went back down to the book.

You rolled out a map which you had on the table, trying to change the subject "Huh, that doesn't make sense"James looked up

"what is it?" He asked

You pointed to a section on a map which was mountainous "theres a trade route here but they're wasting time" you then looked a section of land next to the trade route. "If they put the route there" you pointed to the empty land "then travel between parts of the land would be cut by at least two days."

James looked at the empty land "nobody goes there Firebird. it's said that there are all sorts of monsters there." You studied the map more and saw a waterway of some kind that lead out to the ocean and also connected to other waterways in the realm.

"Well what about these waterways, this area is perfect for trade." James took the map and turned it and studied it "ships tend to stay away from that path, it's rumored to be filled with shipwrecks."

You looked at him "shipwrecks, there? How? The map doesn't show any reefs." James looked up at you he went quite for a moment as he closed the books "Sirens, or at least that what the rumours say."

Looking back at the book talking about the legend of Vespertine, it spoke about how the kingdom was extremely prosperous and had various trade routes.

The blank area on the map would be the perfect location that matches up with description given in the legend of Vespertine. Just then Hades walked in "James, i see you're still here with fire." He stopped and cleared his throat before he spoke again. "forgive me, Y/N."

James closed his book and the book he was working from then stood up. "Hades no need to worry, we were just finishing up for the day." James pushed is chair in and was about to walk away from the table before he turned back to you "Be a darling and put these books away...I'm exhausted from carrying the project."

James and hades left the library together laughing about something, you shook your head as you closed some of the books. "The nerve of that..." you trailed off as you got up and started to put the books back on the shelves. As you slid the last book on the shelf a small gold book fell of the top shelf and hit your shoulder before it landed on the floor with a thud.

There was a compulsion that you felt to pick the book up, crouching down you bushed the dust off the front cover and on the cover was a phoenix in flight.

Standing up you held the book in your hand, you turned to look at the spine of the book searching for a title but there was none. "What are you and what were you doing with books on Vespertine?" Before you could put the book back, a different book floated to you

"Read me, i can tell you about Vespertine." Then a second book "the kingdom of Vespertine"

Before you knew it dozens of books were flying around making noise, at hearing this the librarian ran over, she saw you now crouched on the floor "What did you do?!" She exclaimed

"I don't know it just started happening."

The librarian ran out,

"Principal Merlin!"

She called out.The books spun around you faster in a vortex causing a strong wind to pick up. "Come on Y/N think of a spell...Books freeze pretty please." You closed your eyes as the books spun bringing the dust into the vortex. You heard footsteps then a voice boom "Orderious restorus" suddenly the books froze then fell to the ground with a thud.

Looking up you saw Merlin, wand in hand. The magic still visible on the books. "I sense a very powerful disturbance."

You quickly got up and moved away. The librarian picked up a book "Y/N couldn't possibly have wanted all these books." Merlin shook his head as he turned to the librarian

"no the books chose Y/N." Looking at the scene before he quickly turned to you "dont say a word to this about anyone Y/N"

You nodded, quickly getting up and putting the gold book back on the shelf before grabbing your bag and walking out.

When you arrived at your dorm you quickly put your bag on the bed and sat down. The bag fell next to you and the gold book fell into your lap.

"How...I put you back on the shelf" the book shimmered as you held it in your hand.

Part of you was curious and wanted to open the book but another part of you didn't want to cause trouble so you put the book back in your bag and headed back to the library, you put the book on a trolley then quickly left.

When you came back to your dorm you looked at your bed and the gold book was laying on your pillow.

The tale of a cursed kingdom (chapter 1)

James Hook x Reader

[This is my first full descendants ROR fic, I hope you all enjoy this story.]

(The students in magical history class find out about the legend of a cursed kingdom and the prophecy of a child coming and breaking the curse on a forgotten kingdom, but after class ends something happens which nobody at Merlin Academy has ever seen before.)

A figure paced up and down a room while another figure stood over a cauldron. The room lit up in different colours as different ingredients were cast into the bubbling cauldron. The figure put their hands on the cauldron. "I can't undo the curse, I'm sorry, Your Majesty."

The figure turned; their face was illuminated by the light. "We have to do something; we can't let this curse take hold. It won't just be us; it's this entire world that this curse is set to engulf. No one will be able to escape. Please keep trying; we can't let them win." The voice spoke, trying to keep calm despite being scared.

An ancient tome floated over to the sorcerer and then opened up before them. After reading the book for a few minutes, the sorcerer closed the book. "There is one thing, Your Majesty," the sorcerer said, turning away from the bubbling cauldron. The queen walked over to the sorcerer. "Please, we have to try anything."

The sorcerer nodded "As you know, the curse is supposed to reach across the entire world, not just our kingdom, I can use my power to contain the curse here within our borders, but it's going to take every ounce of my strength."

The queen looked at the sorcerer before looking out over her kingdom, seeing all her people worried about what was going to happen to them. "We have to try and get as many people out as we can before the curse comes for us all."

"There's something else your majesty, something else i need to tell you." The sorcerer was taking a deep breath before speaking again "The only one who can break this curse is your youngest child by defeating the one who did this." The sorcerer continued to work at their cauldron.

The Queen turned back to the sorcerer "I'm not sending my newborn child away to goodness knows where; I haven't even had them for a day!" The Queen then looked over at the baby that was current asleep.

"They're our last hope! Right now, we need that hope," the sorcerer exclaimed. The Queen caressed her baby's cheek, knowing in her heart that her baby would be safe, they would have the chance to grow up and have a normal life by doing this but the queen would miss out on their baby's life.

Suddenly, the wooden doors burst open. "Your Majesty!" a soldier exclaimed, out of breath, catching their breath before speaking again. "The soldiers in the watchtower sighted an ominous cloud on the outskirts of the kingdom, it must be the curse approaching."

"No! I thought we had more time." The sorcerer cursed to themselves. The Sorcerer looked at the Queen and the baby "It's time, I'll handle the curse." The Sorcerer then turned back to the cauldron and began to cast their spell.

The Queen grabbed her newborn baby and softly kissed them on the forehead before she handed them to her eldest daughter. "It's time! get to safety." The oldest daughter nodded as she grabbed their baby sibling and ran out of the room. The queen watched as two of her children left her sight.

The Daughter kept running and then came to a stop after a few minutes, using her magic, the oldest child cast a portal. Once the portal was stabilized she placed the baby through the portal "Be safe little one." She whispered as her tear fell on the baby's cheek "Come back for us and save us." She whispered before using her magic to seal the portal, managing to close it in time just as dark figures ran toward her.

In this time, the queen had left the room where the sorcerer was and walked into a room where a hooded figure was looking out window. "In a few minutes, everything that you know....will be destroyed, such a pity."

The Queen glared at this hooded figure. "How dare you come here after everything you've done." The hooded figure laughed."I came here peacefully, seeking what I desired. You could have given it to me, but you refused. If i can't have it, then nobody can."

Suddenly, the doors flew open. Dark figures brought the eldest daughter into the room before throwing her to the ground. The queen immediately went over to her daughter. The cloaked figure turned to the dark soldier. "The baby?" They asked one of the soldiers, who had scratches on their face which indicated a fight occurred, gave a glare to the Queen's eldest daughter before looking back at the hooded Figure "Gone"

At hearing that her baby got away safely the Queen let out a small laugh, her baby was safe. She stood up before facing the hooded figure. "You're going to lose; I know that now."

The figure laughed. "You may have be able to contain this curse to your kingdom, but I won't be defeated so easily."Just then, two soldiers came in, holding the Queen's spouse before they were thrown next to the Queen.

The Queen looked at the figure. "Good will always win, even if it takes time." The hooded figure ignored the queen, but when the figure saw their curse approaching, they grinned as they looked at the people in front of them "Enjoy the remaing time you have as a family, well whats left of the family." The soldiers came, and all stood next to the hooded figure."Ta-ta," the figure cackled before they and their soldiers vanished in a puff of smoke.

The queen looked out her window and watched as the dark, ominous cloud encroached the kingdom. Her eldest daughter and spouse followed behind her. "We'll all see each other again." The three royals embraced before the dark cloud covered them.

The sorcerer stood at their cauldron as the dark cloud came towards them from all different directions, there was no escape for them now. The sorcerer closed their eyes as their spell took hold, keeping the curse contained in their kingdom just as the cloud covered them.

Merlin Academy :

A hand raised in a classroom. "Yes, Morgie." The teacher called on the student. "What happened to the child? Did they manage to get the child out in time?" the young man asked.

The teacher paced up and down past their desk with a book in hand. "I'm afraid that this is all just a legend. The legend does not say if the royal family managed to get the baby out in time before the curse destroyed their kingdom. Where the child is now, if they did escape or even if they are real, I'm afraid no one knows. But if the legends are correct, the child is key to a prophecy and supposed to return to their kingdom, vanquish the evil, and break the curse."

James Hook, the boy sitting next to Morgie, stared down at his history book; intrigued by the legend of the cursed kingdom and the lost child.

*RING*

At hearing the school bell, the students began to pack up their books, ready to leave the classroom, when a student raised their hand. "Hold on students, someone has a question. Go on." The teacher indicated for the sudent to ask their question, the girl with her hand up now ready

"What about our homework, Professor Song?" Fay asked.

The classroom filled with groans, followed by glares at the girl. Professor song clapped their hands together. "Ah yes, thank you, Fay. Homework for tonight is to read chapters four and five." The students finished packing up, then quickly headed out the door before any other questions could be asked.

Morgie and James walked out of the classroom and thought the halls, making their way to the courtyard, discussing their theories about the cursed kingdom and the lost child. "If the curse was as powerful as the legends claim, then someone must have been powerful enough to contain it in their kingdom." Morgie spoke as he walked with the pirate.

James nodded in agreement. "I wonder why the kingdom was cursed in the first place?" Morgie shrugged his shoulders."Revenge, power, pure hatred. who knows." The pair of them were walking in the courtyard when a bright light appeared in front of James and Morgie. "AAAHHH!" You yelled as you came flying out of the light, heading straight in James' direction.

Falling on top of James your eyes met his as he looked up at you. You quickly got off of his chest and stood up, helping the pirate up onto his feet "Are you alright, darling?" He asked you

Looking at the boy in front of you and noticed he had a hook for a hand "A hook?" you questioned before your eyes rolled back as you collapsed. James caught you in his arms, "whoa whoa, its okay. I've got you." looking at you as he gently laid you on the ground. Morgie watched as the bright light which you had flown out of, suddenly vanished.

Principal Merlin who was making his way to the classroom for his next class, came over and saw you lying unconscious. "What happened here?!" Asking the two boys standing near you

Morgie turned to Merlin "James and I were walking, and this bright light came out of nowhere and then this person flew out and fell on top of James, they helped James up before the person passed out then James laided them on the ground." Morgie stated as he looked down at you.

Principal Merlin looked at the boys before looking back down at you. "Help me take them to the infirmary, Mr. Le Fay, Mr. Hook." The two boys helped lift your unconscious body and began walking to the infirmary. By now, a crowd had gathered at the scene, and Merlin then turned to the crowd.

"Students, please make your way to class."

The principal ordered before he led the way for the boys helping you.

The tale of a cursed kingdom (Chapter 2)

James hook x Reader

(TW: Mentions of federal agents taking the reader away for testing, reader saving someone from being attacked, questions about death)

(Summary: While unconscious in the infirmary, your mind flashes back to the events that occurred, which led up to your arrival at Merlin Academy.)

(The majority of this chapter is a flashback. Flashbacks will be in italics)

Y/N L/N" a voice questioned, you turned at the mention of your name. You were approached by two men in suits, your eyes narrowed. "Who are you?"

The two men flashed badges at you. "we're federal agents. We just need to ask you a few questions." Looking at the men you stepped back

"questions, questions about what?" You tried to hide the fear in your voice when you spoke

An agent pulled out their phone while the second agent spoke,

"Just some questions about an incident which occurred last week."

Before you could respond, the other agent played the footage. You watched the footage of you in the park from last week. Watching as your friend was cornered by a group of people

Two of the group restrained you, hearing their laughter on the video made your blood boil just like it did on that very day. The video then showed your body glowing gold.

"Let go of me," you yelled as gold light swirled around your body and then up into the air.

The group turned from your friend and went to attack you, running towards you as you heard yourself on the audio. "

Get back!" You shouted as there was another explosion of light.

The clip ended there. Looking at the phone, you tried to come up with something to take the heat off you.

"Please, anyone could fake that. It's called special effects for a reason." An agent put their phone away.

"we've confirmed the authenticity of the video, Y/N." The agent said as he came closer "You can come willingly or unconscious. your choice."

Before you could respond, the two agents then grabbed you and walked you over to a black sedan waiting on the curb.

"What are you going to do to me?" You questioned.

The agent in the driver's seat, adjusted the mirror. "No need to worry, we're just going to run a few tests on you."

A gasp came from your mouth "tests?" As the agent went to start the car, you hoped that there was an opportunity to escape, and no sooner after thinking about escaping, the car refused to start.

Both agents got out of the car, and you looked around desperately trying to find an escape route. Then It hit you, the car boot or trunk as some people call it. You made your way into the back, facing the boot door, and found the button to open it from the inside. Trying to open it as discreetly as you could.

Taking the chance, you ran, not even bothering to see if you were being followed. Suddenly, you heard the sound of running feet coming after you. Quickly turning back and saw agents chasing you. Turning forward, you ran for your life.

You then felt something sharp hit your arm. Looking down, you saw a dart. Quickly pulling it out of your arm and holding it in your hand, you continued to run. You kept running until you were tapped on the edge of a platform. The platform was built around a waterfall. The people in suits had you surrounded.

"Come on. Y/N, don't do anything you'll regret." An agent called out

Suddenly, a tired feeling began to wash over you. Looking at the dart in your hand, you realised that this was a sedative. As the agents came towards you, you instinctively took a step back, but there was nothing but air. You fell , one of the agents running trying to grab you but failed to do so.

Falling back screaming, watching as the platform and the agents became smaller and smaller. You thought about your parents, your family, and how you didn't get to say goodbye to them.

You were certain this was the end. Just as you were about to hit the water you closed your eyes but when your hands touched the water, your eyes shot open the water parted, allowing you to fall though but still able to see the sky as you continued to fall. After some time had passed, a glow reflected in the water

The glow then became brighter, and sparkles began to surround you. Your body was moved by an unknown force as you could no longer see the sky but rather a gold glow in the distance. More sparkles came from the gold glow that you saw in the distance, and gold light began to surround you before your body was pulled into the golden light.

Falling through the golden light, the area around you was filled with what looked to be various different galaxies. Were you going to fall forever? Several questions went through your mind. A bright light appeared in front of you and your falling speed increased, yelling as you fell into this bright light then came out of the other end, falling on top of a boy in a red jacket.

Merlin Academy infirmary:

Princpal Merlin is now holding onto the dart that was in your hand.

"Whatever this is, it's not from our world, but I can reverse its effects." He spoke before walking over to a small cauldron, he began to work away at trying to wake you up.

After a few hours, he was finished and was ready to bring the mixture over to try and wake you up. James hook and Morgie Le Fay came back and checked on you. James walked over to you and looked at you he was curious about your appearance he leaned in closer, not hearing Merlin's warning to move back as the smell of the mixture came over towards you.

The smell from the cauldron hit your nostrils, immediately you jolted up. Unfortunately, as you did so, you bumped heads with the boy you saw with the hook. "Eugh! What is that terrible sme..." You trailed off as you stopped to check your surroundings. A bearded man in a blue coat stopped you from getting up off the bed.

"Don't try and get up too quickly." He spoke softly

In the background, you saw a figure in a red jacket being tended to by a figure in green clothing. Blinking as you checked the surroundings again, you were in some kind of sick bay before turning back to the bearded man. That's when fear took over. "Where am I? who are you?"

The bearded man looked at you. "I'm principal Merlin, and you're currently in the infirmary at Merlin Academy."

Second Chance: Chapter 6

Morgie le fay x reader

(Summary: After discovering that Uliana found another way to cast a spell you you, Morgie decides to let an event play out but after while guilt causes Morgie to break the spell and with that comes a revelation.)

Once you finished dress shopping, you headed to the courtyard. Morgie was there waiting, he looked up at you and smiled "ah there you are Princess, i was beginning to think you wouldn't show."

A warmth came across your cheeks as you stepped closer to Morgie "of course i would come. Why wouldn't i?" You gave a warm smile, completely under the spell and morgie could see it.

he came in close and tucked some hair behind your ear "Now, i have a little surprise for you. I have a picnic all set up for just the two of us." Your eyes lit up with excitement "oh morgie, that's so romantic."

Uliana and the rest of her crew came out from their hiding spot "should we follow them?" James asked, Uliana turned him and shook her head "no, let morgie play prince charming for now. Y/N may just come in handy." They watched as Morgie and the reader walked into the distance, morge put his arm around you as the two of you walked.

Maleficent smirked as she watched the scene unfold "how sweet" she was silent for a moment before turning to hades "I hate sweet."

Uliana turned to her friends, "we might just be able to break two hearts with the one stone." A wicked smirk forming on her face, "come on lets go, we can have morgie meet us later."

Meanwhile after a few minutes you and Morgie arrived by the enchanted lake, Morgie had a picnic rug with a picnic basket and drinks. "Oh morgie!" You had a dreamy sigh "you shouldn't have"

The two walked over and sat down on the rug, Morgie eyes met yours, he had to snap you out of this.

Flashback:

The two of you laid on a blanket near the enchanted lake, the picnic food next to you both. "This is nice here, just the two of us." You spoke breaking the silence, Morgie nodded "yeah. Its nice to just get away from everything and everyone." He turned and looked at you, he noticed how your brows were furrowed "is everything okay darling?"

You fiddled with your sleeve "it's...nothing Morgie i don't want to bother you." At hearing this morgie put his fingers at the bottom of your chin and tiled your head to look at him.

"You can tell me anything, princess." morgie whispered as he put his hand in yours. Morgie gave you a warm smile, of course you could tell him. You sat up "I...sometimes I have these visions, there's one which i don't quite understand and it really bothers me."

Morgie sat there "go on, you can tell me" you blushed under Morgie's gaze "I see a vision, The sky turns red, thunder and lightning. Red figures fall from the sky, giant playing cards block exits. A voice shouts 'Off with her head!' A figure in a red dress stands in front of me" you take a deep breath "I don't know what it means and it worries me."

A small chuckle came from you "People think that I'm weird enough but having visions..."You turned and looked at him "you don't think it's weird, do you?" You asked. At hearing this Morgie shook his head "no,never."

Morgie ran his fingers though your hair to soothe you "My mother has always told me that having visions is a gift, something special, she's always held that in high regard, i think" morgie caressed your cheek "you...are special."

He watched as your cheeks flushed, "Y/N, there's something I'd like to ask you." Turning to morgie as you waited for him to ask what he wanted. "Y/N, will you be my date to castlecoming."

Your heart skipped a beat, Morgie had asked you to the dance, you wanted to scream "yes!" But you remembered the agreement you and your friends made.

"thank you Morgie. but I'm already going with Bridget and Ella, the three of us are going as friends. I already promised them and i don't want to let them down." Morgie nodded, despite the spell, you declined his invitation "That's okay. You're just being loyal to the promise you made to your friends." Morgie pullled you in close and caressed your cheek "just, please save me a dance Y/N."

You nodded "of course I'll save you a dance Morgie, I'd love to.".Morgie smiled as he pulled out a box "I got you something. If I can't be your date, please let me give you this. To wear at the dance"

He opened the box and revealed a beautiful bracelet, "oh wow Morgie, it's beautiful." You whispered, The bracelet glistened in the sunlight and you put you hand on it before looking back at Morgie. Can I confess something to you that I haven't even told Ella and Bridget?"

Morgie nodded "go on princess." You fiddled with the bracelet "im scared Morgie, im worried that when i become queen I'll let everyone down and I don't want to let my people down. What if no matter how hard i try, I let everyone down?"

Morgie cupped your face "Y/N, you are going to be an amazing queen. You have a kind heart and you genuinely care about people, not just the people in your kingdom. I think you're amazing."

"You do?" You questioned, Morgie nodded "I really do" After a while looked around "we should head back, i have to help Uliana with a project but I'll see you later."

You smiled "yeah, I'll see you later." You turned away from the lake and walked back to the dorms.

Morgie watched as you walked away from the picnic that he had set up. He snapped his fingers and it disappeared. You were going to dance with him at castlecoming, as he thought about the dance, he thoughy about you.

He thought about all the times your hands would brush. The dimples when you smiled, the focus you had when using your magic and moments the two of you had. Butterflies filled his stomach, he was falling for you, for real.

End of flashback

The bracelet glistened in the sunlight and you put you hand on it before looking back at Morgie. "Its beautiful, thank you."

"Hey Morgie, have you ever felt the need to say something important but when you go to say it you can't quite remember?"

Morgie looked at you "I have." He put his hand in yours "what ever you have to say princess, im sure it's very important."

You leaned into kiss him, Morgie looked down at your lips, he wanted to be yours but not like this. "No...I can't" Morgie pulled away from you, turning his back to you and the enchanted lake. Your eyes were looking back into his, "Morgie, is everything okay?"

Morgie took a deep breath, he felt really bad for what he was about to do. "I'm sorry princess, but i need you to wake up." Turning as he pushed you into the enchanted lake

Crashing into the water from the force of the push, covered in the enchanted lake water before blinking rapidly, you coughed as you swallowed some of the lake water "Morgie what the hell?!' You shouted while swimming in the enchanted lake water.

Morgie gazed at you and watched as you swam over to the shore and made your way out the shimmering lake. Clothing dripping wet. The foggy over your mind from the spell lifted.

"You!" A growl came as you stormed over to morgie "You spelled me." You hissed, Morgie looked shook his head "No, Y/N i..." he trailed off before you raised a hand, incating for him to stop. You quickly used magic to try yourself before continuing

"You spelled me, couldn't get me with the biscuit so you had someone spell the cupcake that bridget made for me." You began to raise your voice, and your eyes watered

"Y/N i promise you i didn't spell the cupcake. I didn't spell the cookie, I didn't want you to fall under the spell." You scoffed "Please Morgie why should I believe a word you say."

"Because i don't want you to die because of what happened at Castlecoming" Came his reply, you folded your arms "As if you care!" You went closer to Morgie

"You're the one who spelled me in the first place!"
