LET YOUR DAD DIE ENERGY DRINK: ALL THE ENERGY OF NOT TRYING TO STAND BETWEEN YOUR FATHER AND THE GRAVE (mary version)
my dad just exploded into laughter out of nowhere and told me āimagine the lion king but with sea lionsā he has been chuckling about it for 5 straight minutes now
apparently it doesnāt matter that iāve told him 10 times itās the monkey who raises the newborn and not the lion himself, this is the scene he has been imagining
āhe canāt raise his kid over his headā
I want it
okay but have you considered
quality content
Extreme quality
@squorkal can it be my job to find you seal posts? Because I want that job
have realized that while i am not a fan necessarily of "people meet and immediately fall in love" i am a fan of "people meet and are immediately obsessed with each other." the love can come later but the absolute fixation should be immediate
in a very real way in my mindās eye I can watch a supernatural episode where somehow instead of going to the empty cas is in the underworld and I can hear the part of the dialogue where sam goes āaccording to the lore, once you make a deal with hades, the only thing you would need to do to get cas back is have him follow you out of thereā and dean replies āso I just gotta throw a bone to some xena side character and frodo and sam hightail it back to the shire, no sidequest antics?ā and sam clarifies like āwell he just has to follow you out. the catch is that you canāt look back at himā
survival of the fittest ⤠he was your boyfriend first
#deans like gotta take a MOMENT before engaging in a cas conversation
Look I do. Genuinely. tend to keep most of my hater opinions pretty close to the vest. Because like okay, you liked the thing I think kinda sucked, I don't need to go ringing your doorbell about it. We can agree on that.
But I feel the sleeper-phrase activation in myself whenever I see a take like "um if you didn't like it it's actually because you didn't understand it!!!!" and i have to like. Take a walk around the block before I morph into Ron Swanson.

"Well, I don't want to make you uncomfortable, but I detect a note of forgiveness." ā³ 7.23 - SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST
There are lots of reasons why fandom is "quieter" now than it used to be. Some theories are more compelling to me than others, and they all have a different scale of impact. We'll never know for sure, of course, but I like to think about it. Thus, this poll.
Of the list below, which reason do you find most compelling or do you think had the biggest impact?
New entrants to fandom don't know the old ways
fandom olds didn't teach the newcomers how to fandom
covid/surge in fandom due to quarantine and lockdowns
"antis" and other harassment campaigns against creators
creators posting complaints about comments (people worry about commenting wrong)
rise of discord popularity - fandom is walled off from each other
tumblr porn ban and other reasons people left the site
capitalism turning fandom into a passive "view and move on" commodity
rules from social media impacting fan culture (eg. don't comment on old posts)
general state of the world / burnout
social anxieties in an increasingly complex online culture
"surveillance state" worries and not wanting to be perceived
This is an incomplete list, so if your most compelling reason isn't listed, feel free to add it in the notes.
DESTIEL IN EVERY EPISODE ā 7x23 survival of the fittest
i'm probably gonna die tomorrow, so... well, i'll go with you. and i'll do my best.
ur girlfriend/boyfriend should NOT be ur first priority... ur first priority should ALWAYS be me, ur tumblr mutual
i think he's handling things really well.
nooooo please give me back my evil guy with issues
i can be trusted with him. please. You have to believe me
Feeling inspired... Might put off writing and think about it the whole time

Itās okay to not want to have sex ever. Itās okay to never even try it.
I was 23 before it even occurred to me that not starting with sex ever was an option. The feeling of relief was so great I actually cried.Ā
You donāt have to if you donāt want to. You can have a fine live without ever having sex, I promise you.Ā
Also, itās okay to never date anyone ever. Itās okay to never even try it if you donāt want to.Ā
I wrote a masterās thesis on intentionally single people, and the number of them that said in various ways,Ā āI didnāt know not dating people was even an option at firstā was absolutely tragic. They honestly thought they had no choice and it never occurred to them that opting out was even a possibility available to them. Ā
People honestly believe these are life experience you are required to have AND THEY ARE NOT.
You can just not have sex. You can just not date people. You can completely by-pass one or both of those things. Neither of those things are required to be healthy, happy, normal, mature, fulfilled, or any of the other bullshit notions that get attached to these things.Ā
Sex positivity is about bodily agency which includes the choice to NOT/NEVER have sex, so inclusion of asexual/celibate/sex repulsed people will always be a pillar of any real discussion of sex positivity and sexual freedom.
News about Murderbot TV season 2!!
Some things we know about Season 2 so far: r/murderbot
This is an amazing compilation post by u/ESE-enthusiasm on reddit.
Some key takeaways:
debuting before June 2027
boiling down the 3 pre-Network Effect novellas into a single season
episodes will be a little longer
per MW circa 5/8, they hadn't cast ART yet, and had a stand-in reading lines (so no human actor on-set, yay!)
we will see more visual effects depicting MB's POV and operating processes
we will see more of Sanctuary Moon and other shows
MW is happy with the changes the showrunners made and considers the TV show a parallel universe to the books
