I’ll call this my “reintroduction” to tumblr.

I was an OG user; I started my first blog ‘themelodiousnocturne’ in late 2010/early 2011 when I was 12 or 13. I have incredibly fond memories of Avengers Tower headcanon fics and Mishapocalypse and SuperWhoLock. I discovered bands like Pierce the Veil and Of Mice & Men through this site, I fell in love with Ratty Healy and The 1975 whom I have now seen live nearly a decade after discovering them on here. Grunge edits. Lana Del Rey. Thinspo. Softcore. Perfectly curated aesthetic. I loved the early days of my blog and the people I connected with through mutual loves of music and fandom spaces.

In late 2016 I began and ran a semi successful p0rn blog on the side after I graduated high school and was a legal adult until 2018 when the pornography ban was enacted and left the site virtually useless for me. I found empowerment in sharing content of intimate moments as girl now woman who grew up in an incredibly repressive, religious home. I discovered my own sexuality through this app in my full truth. I have been hesitant to come back as I know the devs are still very sensitive to what content is allowed to be shared.

With the SCOTUS and American government nearly unanimously deciding to ban TikTok on Friday January 17, 2025, I have found myself ready to return to my roots here. They have taken away our right to free speech and access to information. They took away my third space where I could connect with others again who loved the same things as I do, especially now as an adult. I love fandom and nerdy things, I found incredible community within the Baldur’s Gate, Jujutsu Kaisen, music, cosplay, and more worlds and I want to continue to enjoy the things that I love.

Please remember to be kind to each other and lean on each other in these times of uncertainty. Please be gentle with this old dinosaur as I try to remember how to use this app. I’m excited to come back. I’m excited to try again.
