So are HR manuals, social media policies, annual reports, analyst reports, research studies, customer evaluations, product reviews, employee testimonials, customer testimonials, videos from conferences, CEO blogs, tweets, updates and check-ins.
Around the dawn of the personal computer, advocates proclaimed that there would be one of these fancy boxes in every home. A few dissented, of course. We see who won out.Similarly, if we assume for a moment that todayâs advocates are right and 3-D printing or additive manufacturing is, if not the next household technology, then certainly a transformative business development, then what might it mean for advertising and marketing?
Interesting take on the value of 3-D printing in the ad world, calling it a "middle ground between the realms of virtual craft and physical craft." It's a tool that will catapult brand experiences when used thoughtfully.Â

On a chilly day last spring, a few dozen developers of childrenâs apps for phones and tablets gathered at an old beach resort in Monterey, California, to show off their games. One developer, a self-described âvisionary for puzzlesâ who looked like a skateboarder-recently-turned-dad, displayed a jacked-up, interactive game called Puzzingo, intended for toddlers and inspired by his own sonâs desire to build and smash. Two 30âsomething women were eagerly seeking feedback for an app called Knock Knock Family, aimed at 1-to-4-year-olds. âWe want to make sure itâs easy enough for babies to understand,â one explained.
