betty’s  childhood  memories  include  :   checking  on  her  mother  every  hour  to  ensure  she’s  still  breathing  ,   emptying  various  bottles  and  hiding  them  in  her  bedroom  closet   /  convincing  her  mom  that  she  polished  them  off  weeks  prior  ,   that  one  good  trip  they  took  as  a  family  to  flordia  ,  the  single  month  her  mother  went  without  consuming  a  drop  of  alcohol   —   never  to  be  repeated  !
