When your rape is entertainment, your worthlessness is absolute. You have reached the nadir of social worthlessness. The civil impact of pornography on women is staggering. It keeps us socially silent, it keeps us socially compliant, it keeps us afraid in neighborhoods; and it creates a vast hopelessness for women, a vast despair. One lives inside a nightmare of sexual abuse that is both actual and potential, and you have the great joy of knowing that your nightmare is someone elseâs freedom and someone elseâs fun.

Why does no one ever talk about rape victims and PTSD? Up until this Abnormal Psychology class, Iâve always been told that Combat was the major contributor to PTSD but damn, itâs 20% less than Rape. So please donât tell rape victims to âget over itâ or âits already over, it canât changeâ because over 60% of rape victims have had their brain chemistry changed; PTSD is a mental disorder whether it is because of combat or because of rape.
How can rape by giving a drug or intoxicant to a person that renders them unable to give consent have a minimum sentence of 0-15 years but possession of drugs without being used for rape has a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years to life?
its almost like we have legalized the systematic oppression of women and people of color

If it would destroy [a 12-year-old boy] to be called a girl, what are we then teaching him about girls?

Truth.
If you kill a person, youâre a murderer. If you steal, no one would hesitate to call you a thief. But in America, when you force yourself on someone sexually, some people will jump through flaming hoops not to call you a rapist.
From my latest at the Guardian, When you call a rape anything but rape, you are just making excuses for rapists (via rapeisrape)
Women are described in animal terms as pets, cows, sows, foxes, chicks, serpents, bitches, beavers, old bats, old hens, mother hens, pussycats, cats, cheetahs, bird-brains, and hare-brainsâŠâMother Natureâ is raped, mastered, conquered, mined; her secrets are âpenetrated,â her âwombâ is to be put into the service of the âman of science.â Virgin timber is felled, cut down; fertile soil is tilled, and land that lies âfallowâ is âbarren,â useless. The exploitation of nature and animals is justified by feminizing them; the exploitation of women is justified by naturalizing them.

I think we still live in a culture that assumes that men are single by choice and women are single because no one wants them.

If youâve ever had an abortion, I want you to look at yourself in the mirror, and remind yourself that you are a good person. You are an amazing person.
You made the right decision for you.
Itâs okay to feel happy. Itâs okay to have no regrets.
Itâs okay to be sad....
Laws of #CLITERACY are appearing on walls from Santa Fe, New Mexico to Barcelona, Spain.
I think the average guy thinks theyâre pro-woman, just because they think theyâre a nice guy and someone has told them that theyâre awesome. But the truth is far from it. Unless you are actively, consciously working against the gravitational pull of the culture, you will predictably, thematically, create these sort of fucked-up representations.

You will never beat a troll. You will never change a trollâs mind. You may delude yourself into thinking that you proved them wrong, however, never in my years of dealing with trolls have I seen a troll lay down his or her arms and say, âYou know what, youâre right. I was so wrong.â
