Cocktail Sampling | Magnus & Ruby [Closed]

It was nice to have another person who was familiar enough with the small kitchen that his establishment held, it was the perfect size to hold everything that was needed, the base ingredients as well as various other instruments and implements. The cocktails he made were all beautiful works of art and each of them was different with the amount needed and the way it all mixed together. Mixology was more complicated then many realized and he was glad that Ruby in the short time she'd spent time working with him - had learned a great deal, but of course there was still a lot more she would need to focus on.

At hearing Eve’s name mentioned he merely nodded at and although it was said in a teasing manner of sorts, Magnus didn't want to bring up that particular topic. If something happened to Ruby, well there was telling what Kovu would do. Her reassuring words made him smile though and he hoped she was right.

"You're probably right - but I miss him when he's not here.." he replied before carefully pouring the ingredients Ruby had gotten for him into the large oversized cocktail glass. When Ruby mentioned his mother that made him pause and he gave her a contended smile before replying to one of his best friends and unofficial sister of sorts.

"Indeed I do remember vividly. I would be thrilled to have you meet my mother. I may or may not have mentioned to you to her passing and she seemed curious and insisted on meeting you at some point.." he told the petite dark-haired demon and it was nice that the darkness that encompassed all of their family to some degree had a connection to the world Ruby came from. And he wasn't surprised that Maleficent was well known - his mother was wholly a force to be reckoned with. It made him happy though that his friend was taking an interest and he wondered just what sort of conversation the two of them would have.

"I'll see when she's free next and we can arrange something. Last time I checked she spending time with my father...." he added with a grimace. The thought of his parents doing anything remotely sexual was something he didn't dwell on too much and he wasn't surprised by Ruby's retort and took his focus back to the creating of his newest creation.

It took a short moment to gather and place the final ingredients before they could begin, he took out from a glass cabinet the Don Juliano Blanco and mixed together a Mediterranean Tonic, as well as grapefruit and lime fresh squeezed from the fridge in their set bottles. He hadn't needed to have apologized of course but he still felt that he should, because if he could help in that respect he would of course done so. But he came to the conclusion that when it came to Ruby it would take some special and capable to be able to keep her happy and entertained. Hopefully, that time would come, even if it was someone from elsewhere. His sister deserved to be happy as he was.

 "That's everything we'll need the garnish we can worry about after but firstly we are going to need a fair amount of ice in here.." he said to her before going to the ice fridge and scooping out a generous amount of them and placing them into the glass and sliding over to ruby a taller then normal shot glass - when making a sharing cocktail the amount of everything needed to be balanced accordingly. "First we start with the tequila but five generous shots in to begin with.."

Magnus was never someone who was overly tactile but with those he was familiar with to a certain degree the occasional playful touch or shove was something he'd do without giving it much thought and know that the other person didn't mind. It would probably take a bit more time before he felt comfortable being like that with Ruby. Kovu, however, felt a definite connection with her, after everything that they had gone through. Nevertheless having company was nice to have - especially as of late. And he grinned at the fact she was rather astute at noticing things about the clientele that visited the Rabbit Hole.

 "I know you are a quick learner but no I don't expect you to know, all of the new ones overnight. It will take probably a few weeks, slowly introducing them and seeing how they react.." pausing he walked to the area of shelving which held the ingredients from the leaves and herbs to the cordial, and the specialist liquors. "I thought the first one we could work on is one of the new sharing cocktails, one that's got less in it than some of the others.."I'm thinking of calling it the Garden of Eden, I think it'll be a hit with the ladies...."

Ruby's love of whiskey was something he could relate to and knew she would be able to consider who and what she was that it wouldn't affect her. When she asked where Asher was he paused before placing and grabbing the other necessary ingredients. "I don't honestly know, he's been a little distant as of late and it worries me. But I'm sure he'll come to me when he's ready..." he told her before kneeling down and grabbing an oversized cocktail glass which would be placed into a beautiful art piece made from wood that Asher had made and putting it on the table before letting out letting out a chuckle at her query of finding someone to keep her busy.

"I'll have to get back to you on that one - but you are more than capable of finding someone I am sure. Its been hard lately though I can tell it had an effect on you as well, and I apologize for that.." he replied as he took a handful of large ice cubes and put them into the glass before setting everything in front of them both. "The fig leaf cordial should be strong enough now to be ready to use, but can you get me the guava jam and the strawberry wine..."
