After everything that had happened, Shota approached Oboro’s parents and asked if he could keep his jacket. His parents agreed because they never wanted to see that thing again. So on the way home, Shota walked wearing Oboro’s jacket, not caring how dirty and wet it was, simply because it felt as if Oboro’s arm were draped over his shoulders again.

From that day on, he slept hugging the jacket; it didn’t matter if it was covered in blood, because it smelled like him. That was the only time he allowed himself to cry—there, in his bed, hugging his friend’s jacket.

He kept doing it until the smell of the jacket faded. That was when he truly realized that Oboro was gone forever.

He didn’t cry for him again until years later, when he came face to face with him, tied to a chair, separated by a glass… no, it wasn’t him anymore, even though Shota felt it was. Even so, he cried for him again because maybe Oboro hadn’t left at all, maybe there was a chance he would come back.
