When I am not sick and on the verge of throwing up or passing out -

I need to post about the importance of Resonances, Kryptonian Soul mates / true love.

If anything Kryptonian finds their Resonance and loses them, it takes significant willpower to keep on living. Most Kryptonians succumb to this process where they crystallize if they lose their Resonance.

we never talk about the fact that clark literally feels like he is unable to experience his world properly unless he has his powers.

suddenly, things become too silent. no heart beats. no incessant chatter.

he can't see things so vibrantly. he can't touch and connect with the world the same.

many people focus on the fact that clark has super strength and that he can fly . . . but his super senses have always been so intriguing to me.

"There's always another way."

Clark is morally motivated to do the right thing (based upon the Kent's principles of good: helping the innocent, the unfortunate, and to not be the judge, jury, or executioner of someone), and does not approve of killing others. Even accidental deaths weigh upon his conscience.

Kent has a very tender heart & is compassionate to other's struggles. He cries when he sees cute animals, watches sad endings to movies, and he also cries if someone emotionally moves him. He is very open with his tears, and will cry if moved. He is very sentimental, often saving things in shoe boxes and hoarding them away.

With his tenderness comes a lot of challenges. Kent loathes himself, and is often full of self-blame, and self-hatred. He blames himself for anything in Smallville that has to do with meteor rocks (Kryptonite), and those affected by his arrival to Earth.

Clark really regrets coming to earth at times, because he feels he hurt the entirety of Smallville with his presence. This leads him to feel self-sacrificial at many times, especially due to his powers. He is always trying to balance the good and bad his presence has brought.

#clark struggles so much even as superman. he feels like the good he put out #doesn't equal the bad he's wrought. but it isn't his fault.#lore.#accepting the cape for him is like accepting that it wasn't his fault. but he still goes into self-blame and self-loathing at times.

Gothamites are weirdly proud and protective of their hero so whenever they find out Batman is interested in someone (Clark Kent, another civilian, etc) that person gets special, haphazard protection in Gotham because no one wants to piss off the Bat. Kind of like a Mafia Boss’ wife or girlfriend.

Clark gets escorted through Gotham while there for a piece by two separate (opposing) gangs, an off-duty firefighter, and three old ladies who were “worried” about him being on the streets late at night (read: after 4 pm).

Sure, there’s still people who try to kidnap him. But most nearby Gothamites will be like hey! leave the kid alone, don’t you know who he is?
